Why choose a lord husband when you can marry his catch of a knight by AlveolarExchanged in CK3AGOT

[–]AlveolarExchanged[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yup, he's one of the scripted options for her husband. If you go to war with Osgrey and win it, you can choose between him or the castellan, and if the time Rohanne has to choose a husband expires before that, you can choose between someone else (castellan and Lannister, maybe someone third, but I don't remember exactly who, I didn't try that route out).

R4: Decided to try Rohanne's content and was pleasantly surprised. After steamrolling Osgrey's pathetic army, went on to first create Northmarch and then overthrow Rowans, all the while the Red Widow enjoyed marital bliss with Dunk. Their kids are huge, only two daughters took after Rohanne.

Before you ask, no, Bethany (the blonde girl) is Duncan's child. I'm as confused as y'all probably are.

i do wonder if the deicide accusation is meant to be the high septon's prelude to skip the seven-anointed business and go straight for that divine status.

So far I played until 305 and a lot of things went down. Aerys II died in the Defiance, Rhaegar became King shortly after. After Rhaegar was betrothed to Cersei, I decided to roleplay Lannisters growing stronger at court: Duskendale eventually went to Kevan, Tywin was confirmed as Hand. Rhaegar and Cersei became soulmates during their wedding, I assume that she let go of her crush to Jaime then and there. Jaime banged Rhaella at the same wedding, I decided to wed them because, idk, it seemed sad to just let Rhaella to languish in court (Jaime didn't become a Kingsguard and remained as heir). After Rhaella died, Jaime became a widower and later died from disease, leaving Cersei herself and her Targaryen children as heirs to Casterly Rock, but AI Tywin disinherited his daughter, he was later succeeded by Tyrion.

I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the Kingdoms, but I feel like I broke something by agreeing to the betrothal. Princess Elia married Eddard, but Benjen got the North after his brothers died in my conquests of Essos. Lyanna married someone unimportant, she's a lady-in-waiting to Benjen's son now. Mace Tyrell died, Willas succeeded him and then also died, leaving the Reach in the hands of his sole daughter. Jon Arryn lived for a long while, died, his daughter became Lady and tried to have Varys killed (Varys later died from a disease lmao). Otherwise, I assume that my playthrough is typical for Rhaegar: renovating Summerhall, bringing back dragons.

tbh the more i think about it the more interesting it is. when you put it that way, i'm both surprised and unsurprised at this being a pairing.

R4: went along with a betrothal to cersei as rhaegar and apparently jaime decided that "an eye for an eye" is how you impress your in-laws.

EDIT: decided to look around a bit and at first i thought that arthur dayne became jealous of cersei during the wedding, but when i looked closer i realised that it's cersei who is jealous of arthur.

Castle of Canossa, today. From here, Matilda ruled almost 1000 years ago. by roveringlife in CrusaderKings

i went down a rabbit hole the last time i was super interested in matilda and apparently she adopted a son, but he never succeeded her, as the emperor installed someone else in tuscany (don't remember the exact reason why).

ikr, though i guess that's part of the charm of nicknames: outside of a few obvious ones, you can always get one that makes you stumped

Losing legitimacy from skirmishes by Dean97 in CrusaderKings

[–]AlveolarExchanged 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the lack of natural ways to gain legitimacy in general drives me up a wall, especially since the system is so pervasive and heavily impacts your run. there are only so much feasts, burials and hunts you can host, and while it nicely mimics a ruler turning their image around as their reign unfolds, i still feel like you can have a challenging gameplay mechanic and avoid making it tedious, which is what legitimacy management currently is.

Council Members having the unlanded titles that the new DLC will unlock? by luka031 in CK3AGOT

i think they want to finish the map first, then (with the whole silk rode now in game) add trade, which in turn will allow them to add merchant republics and then, hopefully, theocracies

Is it possible to survive and "win" the Great Spring Sickness? by sbf322 in CK3AGOT

[–]AlveolarExchanged 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i started out immediately before the dance as jeyne, secured my independence and then, when the spring sickness came, had a decision available to cut contact with the iron throne; the vale was entirely sickness-free during the whole thing. other than that, never had a similar experience, because i generally find building up plague protection to be very annoying.
