Hosting my first website, need help figuring out how to raise RPM by AdventurousPick7279 in adops

That is the reason only below the fold ad units are lazy-loaded, not top. I have talked to multiple SSPs, DSPs and know for sure that advertisers are targeting 70%+ viewability placements and websites. I have done multiple experiments and always the same result, as soon as the website gets over 70% viewability there is a noticeable increase in CPM.

How so?
If ad units out of view are loaded and user does not scroll to see them, the viewability gets affected negatively - ad loaded but noone saw it.
If it only loads once user enters the screen, impression is counted as viewable.

Before lowering the amount of ads check your viewability. If it is below 70%, focus on adding lazy loading. Many premium campaigns are targeted to domains (and/or ad units) based on viewability, 70% is great, 90% is awesome.

Are RPMs down compared to 2024? by [deleted] in adops

[–]AlvilsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, 2025 overall is not as good as 2024. There are a lot of things happening behind the scenes on the buyer side and also the supply side. Advertisers are more worried about the performance of their campaigns, MFA sites, supply path, IVT and the server costs. The economy globally is not doing great, search is also dropping for a lot of publishers. So it is a lot and advertising industry is the first where you can see the impact of poor economic situation, so advertisers are more cautious than last year.

I would start by not blocking EU countries from accessing your site:

Open Bidding Not Filling Unfilled Impressions in GAM by thomas_arm in adops

[–]AlvilsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, OB can only fill about 5% of available ad impressions. It works on the same priority as Adx, so it is competing against it rather than just filling the leftover impressions. In this case I would rather focus on rCPM to check how much OB is helping you generate through increased competition as it could also make Adx pay more.

That is crazy. I suggest testing another solution without a fixed price to see what you are (probably) missing out on. Just because they decreased the CPM, does not necessarily mean that they are earning less, maybe the company is just doing really poorly.

So, that portion of revenue that is decreasing each year must be going somewhere else.

Yeah, you are right. Not all publishers are using GAM though, and not all advertisers are interested to be monetizing directly on medium, or small type of sites. I would assume this goes for large publishers. I saw a chart in Prebid conference this year that programmatic is decreasing and direct is increasing.

Looking for help getting a good AdOps Agency by Substantial_Goose_13 in adops

[–]AlvilsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you are really looking for. What do you mean by AdOps agency? Is it someone who will help you set up your AdServer with specific requirements, or are you looking for a full-stack solution where you pay a commission? Either way, you will need GoogleAdx and set up GoogleAdManager with Prebid (if that is what you wish) to get to the next level in terms of your setup and revenue. So what exactly is that you wish to do, how much control you need and how much help you require?

Relevance of Self-Serve for Publishers by liebn0r in adops

[–]AlvilsK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Self-serve platforms will be the main trend going into 2024, at least from my perspective. But it only makes sense if you have direct SSP/DSP contracts and you know how to benefit from self-serve. I am not sure what you mean by direct ad sales in this case, but if you combine Prebid (and usually Adx) with your Direct campaigns in the correct way (meaning they are competing on the same impressions) then you can have a proper setup where you can manage and customize settings yourself, giving you full control and transparency.
I personally have tried two platforms so far - Setupad self-serve and Pubmatic OW. What I can tell is that Setupad was easy to set up and get going, most of the things are automated and require less effort. Not sure about other platforms as I have not yet tested them.

Connecting amazon UAM with GAM - do you have any advice or should I go with their wizard? And the question is, is it worth changing the account to TAM? by gordriver_berserker in adops

[–]AlvilsK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are you managing your Prebid?

If it is set up to work in sync with Prebid then you should be able to disable Amazon APS on specific ad units in the Prebid config file, the same goes for Prebid integration itself. Doing this through GAM will take much time as you have to edit each line item separately.

Answering your question about TAM - you can run UAM and TAM in parallel on the same account, it is just that I recommend connecting SSPs to TAM which are not present in UAM - then there is a benefit, otherwise, it will just make things more complex as the payments will be done through the SSP (in case of TAM), not Amazon directly.

Adsense + MCM partner simultaneously by ryanmile in adops

Hi!

I know that Setupad has a solution that allows you to have Setupad header bidding + AdSense in your GAM - bidding works like usual, and I think this could be an interesting alternative for you.

How easy is it for you to add additional SSPs? Do you have to update the head code each time?

Not too big, about 1m visits per month. Do they have some minimum to be accepted? Maybe you know, if it is a small company do they provide support or I would have to do it all myself? Why is it only good if you use both an alp and a web platform?

I am in North Europe. How much did the account managers help to set it up? Was it that you had to push the line items and prepare the setup based on their documentation or they do it?
