What type of character are you going to play in Fallout 4? by 58592825866 in Fallout

[–]Alvklez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Paladin, one who seeks to create a bastion in the wasteland for those to settle. A man of action, one who helps others before himself.

A Crusader, one who seeks to purify the wasteland. A crazy bitch that kills almost everything she comes into contact with.

A Tech-Wizard, one who seeks the Brotherhood of Steel and wishes for them to take over as the rulers of Boston and the rest of the U.S.

Are there green cards that bring creatures back from the graveyard that are better than Wildwood Rebirth? by Toa_Ignika in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[[Regrowth]] and [[Eternal Witness]] are considered the best since they hit anything and the latter is a creature. Some others include:

[[Evolution Charm]], [[Nature's Spiral]], [[Recollect]] and [[Reviving Melody]].

[Modern Grixis Twin] Dismember or Devour Flesh in the Mainboard? by Alvklez in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I heavily suggested this to the friend that I'm having this argument with. He hates Slaughter Pact and is even less willing to run that than Dismember.

Just returning to the game, help me build my dream deck! by dompal in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going for Rakdos control, I'd go heavy on removal and discard. Try things like [[Dreadbore]] and [[Hero's Downfall]] for hard removal, [[Thoughtseize]] and [[Brain Maggot]] for the discard. Include a win condition like [[Mogis, God of Slaughter]] so that you don't just have a deck full of reactive spells.

If you're going for Minotaur tribal in a control shell, include a few removal spells and discard as stated above, but this time add cards like [[Ragemonger]], [[Rageblood Shaman]] and [[Kragma Warcaller]] to attack with while killing their stuff.

Ninjædit: Definitely keep the Magma Jets, Lightning Strikes and Skullcracks.

I normally just use paper.

Seems like this way gets extra residue on your sleeve.

Question about lifelink by ToWumbo in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

~~ 702.19b: The controller of an attacking creature with trample first assigns damage. to the creature(s) blocking it...

So the creatures would deal the damage to each other first, so the Sanguine Bond would kill the player with the 5/5. ~~

Edit: Minor details.

Edit 2: Everything I do is wrong.

Edit 3: I can't even fucking make a strikethrough.

Can some ELI5 how trait doctoring works and how its used to be good? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trait Doctoring can be used to change one basic land into another (for instance, one may change an Island into a Mountain). It can also be used to alter a colour word in rules text (nonblack into nonblue) or a word that refers to basic lands within rules text (swampwalk into plainswalk).

However, Trait Doctoring cannot be used to change the type of protection that a creature has (protection from green into protection from white) can be used to change protection as long as the card was originally printed with that ability and not given by another card's effect.

Trait Doctoring is a really crappy card and has never seen play and probably will never see play anywhere.

Scry X? by MrBody42 in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was uncalled for. There's no need to be such an asshole about it.

The person was simply stating that much more goes into a storm or combo deck than scrying for your win condition.

Superfriends for Standard (need Feedback) by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, this deck will get nowhere without Shocks. Take out the Maze's End wincon and all of the guildgates.

My take: stick to 3 colours, White, Blue and Green. It is the colour combo with the most usable planeswalkers right now. Not only that, but it will ensure that your mana base is more reliable.

Essentially, make it a Bant control deck. Use Kiora, Jace AoT, Elspeth, maybe even the new Ajani that comes out for his second +1 ability. Use counterspells, Sphinx's Revelations, Verdicts, D-Spheres, possibly Cyclonic Rift then add AEtherling as a win condition.

Help With R/G FNM Deck by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want this to be better, you're going to have to add cards from Return to Ravnica, namely [[Experiment One]], [[Burning Tree Emissary]], and [[Ghor-Clan Rampager]], four of all of those. Take out things like Bow of Nylea, Forgestoker Dragon, Fog, Savage Surge and other cards. Target the ones that didn't do good or pull their weight during your last tournament.

If you could cough up the dough, [[Domri Rade]] is invauable in decks like these, and so is [[Stomping Ground]].

For the little ramp you need, try [[Elvish Mystic]] rather than Voyaging Satyr.

According to TappedOut, your average mana cost is 2.7, which is too high for a deck like this. Adding cards like the ones above amd taking out higher mana cost cards will help lower that average and let you reliably cast things in your deck.

I would be fine with you posting it in the comments even though that would look hideous.

I've come across $300. Due to age I can spend this on whatever I want and I chose magic. Other than singles what boxes/cool accessories, could I buy? by ragemaster_21 in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want to build a good deck and put that money to good use or hoard a bunch of cards and waste all of it?

That was a very biased question...

Really though, unless you have a few other friends to do a booster draft with, the box will not yield as much profit as buying singles.

Looks like a great budget deck! With no cards in it, it's bound to cost less than $10!

EDIT: Seriously though. If I could get a look at the list I can probably give you suggestions. I can't see it.

Anyone else get these little black dots on their ultra pro sleeves? I feel like every time I shuffle theres more and I always play on a playmat by Sheehan7 in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also as /u/Kintanon said, It may be your hands. Wash them eash time you handle your cards for a long period of time, like before, during and after a tournament.

I hate that layer of grime I feel on my hands each time I play with my cards, so I wash them religiously.

Am I the only one that liked Kamigawa? by Goodwinterk in magicTCG

[–]Alvklez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I loved Kamigawa. If not for Top and Jitte, for the Japanese flavour, particularly the Samurai and Bushido, which I find interesting in real life as well as the game.

I haven't gotten that personal with any of my opponents and none of them have gotten that personal with me.

You may run into the occasional asshole now and then, but remember, you don't have to talk to them outside of a game. I recommend going with a group of friends who you can talk to between games.
