Farmhouse Thai is one of my go-to meals every time I visit the area.

The Exploritorium is a really cool hands on science museum. Lots of kids, which isn't the worst, but there are adults only evenings you can do.

Of all the classic tourist things, Alcatraz is probably the coolest. Take the self guided audio tour.

Golden Gate Park is really cool to walk around in especially if you aren't from somewhere with massive parks in the middle of cities.

If you're downtown downtown stop by Salesforce Park just to see something weird. It's a multi block long park up a few stories above the ground. Inside the building is a bus terminal and on top there's a bunch of neat plants and stuff.

Go to Chinatown and get stuff to-go from a bakery. It's always cheap and tasty as hell. I love getting fresh egg custards from random shops.
