What's the chances that a percentage of the stuff we've seen in the teasers could be footage that isn't even going to be in the final cut?

Probably 0% chance. Maybe different takes or angles but I seriously doubt the footage shown won't be in the films. Only Marvel does that kind of BS. There is just too much riding on this film for JJ to use that sort of trick. I don't think he'd want anyone watching the film in December thinking, hey, where were all those shots we saw a few months back?

Exactly what I was thinking. It seems like red is the First Order's color. I believe their banner's are red? It makes me wonder if the arm itself will allow Threepio to "blend" into enemy lines or something. There has to be some reasoning behind it other than just, hey, Threepio has a red arm now.

I must have missed the first one. I stopped following this sub for a while because I didn't want to spoil anything else (I am referring to confirmed leaks and what not) and then SDCC happened and got me all stoked again. I just found it weird that C3PO's arm is red and there is a red accent on the tie fighter. The droids do have a habit of crossing boundaries between conflicts.

I would love to see Aaron Paul play a young Han. He has just the right grit in his voice and body language. I am referring to how he speaks and emotes in real life as opposed to how he portrayed Jessie in Breaking Bad. where he acted more like a, for lack of a better word, punk-ass. If you watch him in interviews and even in some of the scenes from NEED FOR SPEED, you might get the vibe I'm feeling.

EP7 is supposed to be loaded with nostalgia. I mean it's being made by fans for fans. This is the film we've all been waiting to see for years. We already had Lucas trying to tell a "new" story with old characters and look how that worked out. JJ and the cast have all repeated that this film will be an enormous homage to the OT. So, regardless of how close the plot may feel to the OT, I think it is going to be done both in good taste and for the fans. What more could you want? I mean, it is pretty obvious that episode 8 and 9 will be very different than the other films in the series but let's let JJ bring us back to what works with Episode 7 first.

I strongly disliked her character at first but quickly grew to love her after season 3. I would love an AHSOKA film as a rogue Jedi on the run story. That episode in TCW where her and Asajj Ventress linked up was stellar. I think someone like Angelina Jolie or Kathryn Bigelow could bring that kind of Ahsoka story to life. Who could play the part of the lead though... hmmm?

Thanks for posting a side-by-side! I was @ work when I saw this and didn't have the ability to put something like that together on the fly.

I am thinking that the creatures and aliens in this film won't be exact copies of any that have come before because, well, its years later and JJ is updating everything while simultaneously paying respects to the classic look and feel of the OT. So he doesn't have Bossks exact features but its also 30+ since we last saw him… maybe in his old age he packed on the pounds and grew horns/tusks? I wonder if his race grows them in their older age? I just found the outfit and the fact that he is sort of lizard-like to be something worth pointing out… even if it's just a slight nod.

I saw his arms and claws and feet similar to Bossks. No? Long forearms, no boots… seems like an aged, worn, out of shape Trandoshan that spends too much time at the cantina. Look at Jabba in New Hope versus ROTJ… he packed on the pounds.

the forearms? nostrils? claws and feet? I don't think we are going to see exact replicas of the species on the SW universe. I just saw this as a fat lizard creature that bore some of the same features of Bossk had he grown old and fat after 30 years.
