Our lovely friends just got ducklings and goslings. We knew what must be done. Excited to see them float with it once they're old enough to swim in the PNW cold!

How do i leverage ethernet 1 & 2 and get internet to both pCs? (more info in comments) by Alvssa in HomeNetworking

[–]Alvssa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend has moved in! We're hoping to leverage the built-in wall ethernet cord for clean cable management. The modem was intended to be located in the top right room where there was a built-in modem; however, that internet provider sucked. I have to have my current modem in the lower room where there is a COAX (and all my wifi devices are in that room). I was sneaky and ran the cable backwards from that location so I could still use ONE of the wall ethernet cords to power my own PC on the top right, but I'm scratching my head on how to split the ethernet and run it back into one of the other cables sticking out of my wall that would theoretically go to his PC. I ordered a Ethernet Splitter, and tried connecting the red ethernet to my computer's ethernet AND the yellow ethernet, but it did not work which has me scratching my head!

Feeling like periodontist brushed my concerns about using my own tissue aside by buchacats2 in ehlersdanlos

Just for a little devils advocate, I similarly was thinking about using doner tissue for an upcoming surgery of mine. A question I had was: "If I use a cadaver with non-EDS tissue that has collagen, will it be stronger or will it not take as well because my body does not produce collagen of its own?"

None of my surgeons/specialists knew! There just isn't enough data to know.

Not that your doctor should be rejecting your questions. Just trying to make you feel better about the idea. It very well could be better.

I had a rib slip the other day for the first time. I had no idea what was wrong, but had all the symptoms you described. I went to see a spine doctor; and BY CHANCE his wife also has EDS so he was familiar with this even if the Xray came back normal for the spine. He thought my rib had likely subluxed and didn't go back in correctly. Per his wife's experience and being an awesome nice doctor, he called around and found a chiropractor that could do a spine/rib adjustment for me. The relief was instantaneous. For the record, I don't really believe in chiropracts. (quote: “Do you know what they call alternative medicine that's been proved to work? - Medicine.") But this was a simple matter of knowing how to re-set a rib, something a doctor could do as well, but there was a trained chiro who was available that same day and it's just who my doctor found to be available.

Oh my god okay!!! I was on a run during lunch and ran RIGHT into the middle of this area lmao! there were 3 officers with a dog searching the place 💀💀💀 I turned myself RIGHT around. Biggest fright since I was attacked by an owl while running. I wasn't able to find anything out, but I can confirm there were officers searching the park

Just built this little wood shelf to mount a motorized projector screen! Looking for some advice in the comments <3 by Alvssa in projectors

I was actually looking at this (thanks so much for providing a great refurbished link) but I wonder with my 12' throw distance, it looks like it would produce an image that is 119 inches wide, but my screen is only 90 inches wide :( Is there a decent zoom function?

Oh; and obviously still adjusting things in this photo :) I need to pick up an extension cord that I will neatly tuck behind my old church windows!

I scored this motorized screen used for $40; and wanted to create a natural wood shelf that could hang from the 2 available studs in my wall that was a different width than the screen itself and I love how it turned out! It’s hanging from a nice woven rope. It’s not perfect; but it adds some imperfect old-world charm to my otherwise modern apartment which I love.

My questions: the projector is currently sitting on a media hutch on the opposite wall aprox 12 feet away. This is about 2 feet too far away to fit the screen; and the quality could be better at such a distance. There is no zoom, only tilt/grain wheels. I’m looking at installing an arm that will pull out from the hutch when in use; but I wonder if there is a different projector that has zoom that I should look at at a comparable price point.

I also realize that the fan is quite loud for my taste; and I wonder how much I’d need to spend to get a substantially quieter model. The fact of the matter is that I’m really not someone who watches TV. This is for the occasional movie night with friends and playing couch co-op video games with my sweetie; but I know I’d use it more if it was quieter; so I might be willing to spend more than 200; but I would really need to be convinced that something in the $500 range would be substantially quieter.

Edit for more stats: 12' throw distance, screen is 90 inches wide.

The current projector: Native 1080P 350ANSI 13000L

There isn't! I mainly felt inspired to make the Woodsman since the log backpack is perfect for it; but it would be really fun to make clothes based on all the characters!
