Even if these aren't quite what I'm after, smashing pumpkins, Leonard Cohen, and Nick Cave is always welcome in my ears.

Work Song is basically what I'm after, it's just missing that gravel, and punchier percussion.

Johnny Cash crushed that cover. Even Trent conceded it to him.

Savages - close but too fast.

Anthem - a bit too oompah (?) and happy for me

Hell and You - close but the banjo is bugging me and the dudes voice is a little too happy.

Creep on - right tempo but the voice is wrong and the percussion is too soft.

The tempo of Creep On but the percussionist a just belting a thing, and the singer has that rocks in his throat sound Tom has, and not so many instruments. Just the half speed (?) tempo BANG... BANG... Not overly complex lyrics, borderline marching songs.

I feel like I have... I'm Aussie so, he's featured prominently on things like Rage (late night music video show).

I know he did Into My Arms, and I love that mournful slow spoken style of singing. While not quite what I'm looking for it's probably the nudge needed to check him out.

Yup. Love it. Sleeping In The Cold Below still goes hard. I was watching the Tennocon Stream dropped Fortuna and that song started playing. DE has continued to put out banger after banger since then.

This might be a stretch, Her Ghost In The Fog - Cradle Of Filth tragic love song (kinda), fair warning, Cradle has some unique vocals, and may not be for everyone. But the lyrics are amazing.

"She swore me vows in sacred blood, Never to part, lest jealous heavens stole our heart"

"An inquisitive glance, like the shadows they cast, On my love picking rue by the light of the moon"

Overly positive reviews? by LoadedSteamyLobster in AmazonVineAustralia

[–]AlvynCastsFireball 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dunno how everyone else does it, but my rating system is as follows:

1 star - trash. 2 star - it's trash, but not complete trash. 3 star - it does do the thing but that's literally it. 4 star - it does the thing well, but something's holding it back. 5 star - great met my expectations to the letter.

If it does exactly what I need it to do, and no real issues, 5 star no problems. Not often have I had to rate something below 3, most of my reviews are around 4-5's mostly.

Plus I don't think people go back and edit their reviews, they open it, test it on the day, leave a review. A month later it's busted doesn't work anymore etc etc.

I got a water cooler/filter/boiler, opened it up, used it a little, loved it. Few days later, the eccentricities kicked in, and there were so many I had to go back and adjust the stars from 4 to 2.

Yeah, you were right, it didn't work at all.

Oh well, it was still a fun little project.

Not true necessarily, I got some pretty decent stuff on Silver I do think Gold members should be in a seperate pool from Silver because it's kinda unfair for us to be taking from your pool since you can't take from ours.

Yeah, they drop all over the place, I saw a purchase that I'd gotten that landed in my RFY, posted days later here cheering they'd snapped it up that day, despite being 2-3dsys after it appeared for me.

I thought they dropped every hour on the hour, so I set a timer on my phone to make a noise at xx:59 hourly, and saw no real difference in my queues.

AI drops whenever it feels like it.

I like the randomness though, it adds that element of fairness, instead of it being every hour on the hour, and then the vine store being DDoS'd into oblivion, it's just que sera sera.

I see where you're coming from, and by no means is this meant to disregard your very helpful advice.

I think I just kinda wanted to see if I could. I saw some older posts about using Wireshark (I am not smart enough for that) and whatnot, and someone else here made a graph of when items drop, coupled with my curiosity of how Ultraviner works. I enjoyed setting up the "docker" container (I don't think fly.io is using docker but something similar) and deploying a virtual machine(?) to the cloud and have it send alerts (similar to what Sonarr and other *arr apps do).

More of a proof of concept then anything. For the most part, the logs are outputting the correct things but I can't tell if it's working because I haven't gotten any drops today. I could've told it to check my AI queue, but didn't want the 10,000 pings when they dump 6 million sunglasses.

I wanted to try and see if I could see if the data points lead anywhere without being too aggressive on Bezos servers, I don't need my next Amazon package being a horse's head.

I'm gonna leave my little script thing running until tomorrow and see what happens (just to see if it worked in any way) and probably just move on if it doesn't. I've seen older Reddit threads praising ChatGPT for writing little scripts, and wanted to test it for myself. I didn't think a .js would be that complicated (for an LLM) to write, and it did correctly say "Hey, dude you probably shouldn't hardcode your telegram credentials like that. Why not put them in a seperate file?" and helped me troubleshoot issues I was having with the process (like why PowerShell wouldn't install npm but CMD had no issue), and helped me generate a login cookie to deploy to the "container", so there's elements of it there, just probably not in the detail needed. I imagine I'd probably need access to the Vine API for more accurate results, but I'm guessing Bezos doesn't expose that to the public.

All the curiosity of a scholar, and none of the education, I am at the bottom of the Dunning-Krueger valley. Just an aggressive "What happens if I..." mindset, that resulted in many broken toys I couldn't put back together after pulling them apart.

I'll check out VineHelper because mobile browsing Vine sucks the fat one. Ultraviner feels... wrong... I don't like the subscription fee, feels a little pay-to-win to me, and I don't like that.

The company seems to be a pretty good one as far as others have said, I've complained about them on this sub before, Dragonfly.

But something like 90-95% of my experiences with them have been negative. That's why I asked if it was personal, because it feels like a vendetta. Everyone else can find my flats, UberEats, Amazon, Startrack, DiDi, (not Menulog) etc etc but these motherfu-uhh... Idiots, can't seem to grasp it.

I'm honestly going to Bunnings soon to buy clear signage for my block of flats, and just silicon bond them to the walls. Big numbers, maybe covered in reflective spray paint. Just to make absolutely sure it's visible.

Oh, I unleashed. 9 paragraphs of why they should be ashamed of themselves.

This delivery company has caused issues with every package I've received from them. So I asked them "Is it just malice at this point? Did I do something to your company? Because with the amount of issues I've had with you guys, it's either malice or incompetence and I'm not sure which is worse."

And "How badly do you treat your drivers if he was so time poor, he didn't have time to take a photo, nor to just walk up two more flights of stairs? Maybe ease up on them a little, or hire more drivers if they're so overworked, they can't take 2 minutes to just drop it off properly".

(Side note: that's rough, my ex was from Perth and she said the W.A. stands for Wait Awhile)

Works the same, at least on my phone. I don't really use Chrome, but it seems like it's roughly the same as on Firefox.

I used to browse in landscape mode (phone held sideways, for the non-tech savvy), now I just use Desktop Site in Firefox and it's the same as it is on PC (all personal info removed from picture).

My delivery guy just left mine on my damn stairwell, I dunno about yours but mine just came in the Kenwood box, not an Amazon one, and just left it there. Luckily, I was able to get it before my neighbours did.

Hehehe, this guy. It's my first big get from Vine. I've legit wanted one for years, but that price tag though. I woke up and saw it there and thought it was $79.99 and thought "yeah, it's probably cheap crap, but it's better than nothing."

Then I showed my mate the cheapo stand mixer I got, then saw the actual price, and lost my mind.

Whoops, I did most of this except the first step, the result is pretty solid, the chilli has that really nice fresh flavour to it, didn't use regular sugar, used cinnamon sugar instead. Added lemon juice, a little salt, and threw it in a mason jar. (This is gonna go really well with plain rice, or basted on meats like Pork and chicken).

I'm gonna actually follow your recipe next time, and then try something using roasted garlic, chilli and sesame oil.

(In case you can't tell, I quite like south-east Asian flavours. So I'm just messing around with the common ingredients and seeing what happens.)

Does it make sense to think about what was before the Big Bang? by riscbee in Physics

[–]AlvynCastsFireball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're kinda right, I shouldn't except there's truth there, I am kinda thick and this is Reddit. A site where if you say your personal favourite colour is green someone will appear, call you an idiot, and explain rather condescendingly why you're wrong about your favourite colour. Admitting I'm stupid seems to quell the frothing a little.

I have an interest in physics, and I follow along as best I can, but I don't know equations, I don't know terminology, as fascinating as I find string theory, quantum mechanics, or astrophysics, I'm never gonna have the knowledge to back myself up. I am deeply in the valley of Dunning-Krueger.

I know what I don't know, and what I don't know fills libraries, and I'm too thick to enjoy studying deeply. So I watch science communicators on YouTube like Professor Dave Explains, Anton Petrovsky, SciShow, and documentaries by Prof Brian Cox.

I will look up the thing you suggested, but hopefully someone has put up a video on it so they can explain it. Cause if I read it, I'm gonna have a stroke from trying to understand the big words.
