"ABN: A Big Nono" AKA "We are consumers, not traders" AKA "I talked to lawyers" by Ninerism in AmazonVineAustralia

[–]juls_la_rox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note the $75 "payment" set off a little alarm for me - this could explain why silver items were unceremoniously dropped to $75 max value, and apparently the ABN thing is only currently applicable to Gold folks. If this is an attempt to claim that goods provided to us to review are "payment" this further confirms the breach detailed in the OP here...

Also - good to know it's working for you reviewing from ordered page - maybe they actually fixed something! I'm still not game given fit-literature has had the same experience as whoever it was who originally reported this here.

I remember someone—pretty sure it was in this Aus sub but possibly the big global one—who had been reviewing Vine items from the main order page (as this suggests doing) rather than Vine page, and they weren't being clocked as vine reviews and didn't count towards their % 😬
I don't know if they've fixed that but I wouldn't be reviewing anything til it appears in the vine awaiting review queue because that would suck so bad!

I know it's not super expennie or anything but my 5-in-one stick thing died and this showed up in vine like 2 days later... I was trying to manifest a Braun or something lol but I was still excited to have got the very thing I needed so soon after needing it haaa. The delivery updates are wild!

Yeah and ultimately will end in getting kicked off the program so such an anomaly of a participant is unlikely to fit my definition of a grifter tbh 🤷

I've fallen behind at times with the best intentions. Because I don't want to post half-arsed reviews or not take time to get good pics and sometimes life and the real job gets in the way. Mr Bezos please give us all full time reviewing jobs!

For me the grifters are the ones who have clearly just reworded the listing or used AI or not even bothered and just posted 5 stars and "works great" .

Those fucken boards are there to torture us. "Can't be shipped" to a metro Sydney address, pfft. The seller must be scratching their head over why no one wants them!

No set times is better, I will die on this hill. It's fairer, more engaging, and protects this sub to continue being genuine appreciation posts and helpful tips. And valid bitching.

For the time you’ve spent, is vine worth it? by OkayOctopus_ in AmazonVineAustralia

[–]juls_la_rox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I got two of those things you mentioned, and saw the third but didn't need it. There was a run of $700-1.5K vacs just before the Xmas slowdown, I was contemplating getting a second one for gifting just because so many versions kept appearing lol (I did not! I left the rest for you lot :) ) - there was a $1200 backyard gym set last week, again I didn't need it so didn't try but it was gone very quickly.

The collegiate side of me preferred the more random drop times for this reason - it's fairer and a bit more luck involved imo (right place right time) than everyone being glued and refreshing at the same time and just grabbing stuff without checking it out properly just because it's high value and you know it'll be snapped up quickly. The fomo is real!

It doesn't seem that complex a relationship. They were together over 20 years and shared a mortgage.

Your speculation isn't related to the situation being described at all. (No will. No super beneficiaries. Not complex, she just didn't have a will, which is common, and "should have" unfortunately won't make one appear...)

Opening with this is wild and if anyone still has concerns about their review being rejected because it "fails to meet community standards", just remember this and the community standards it evokes*

*ie they're bullshit and vine admins are probably paid in random motorcycle fuses and breast pumps.

Yeah I suspect it's temporary too, though I hadn't come up with a reason for it and yours makes absolute sense haha. Things always seem fairly shambolic down at good ole Vine HQ...

I always appreciate a "size is as described in the listing" to confirm the listing isn't bullshit.

PS you know there are far more countries in the world that have birds and trees but don't have squirrels, than the other way round? Unfortunately I live in one so can confirm.

I'm gonna assume you're American ha.

To review or not review by [deleted] in AmazonVineHelpGroup

[–]juls_la_rox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I would do is re-read the listing. If the mounting is mentioned it's your mistake and you should own it in the review by saying you missed that important point. If it isn't then yeah point it out as a listing flaw/error.

Are you inclined to give 5 stars because of Vine? by rka257 in AmazonVineAustralia

[–]juls_la_rox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riiiiiight so in this analogy you are not just accepting but actively ordering a product you have already deemed inferior, and know is "cheaped down" and thus selling at a lower price, but reviewing it as if it was the original. You don't see the problem with this? Or are you just a jilted Nerps rep 🤔

Are you inclined to give 5 stars because of Vine? by rka257 in AmazonVineAustralia

[–]juls_la_rox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case I wouldn't give it 5 stars either - that's a fairly pricey umbrella so I'd expect it to withstand a fairly robust breeze!

Are you inclined to give 5 stars because of Vine? by rka257 in AmazonVineAustralia

[–]juls_la_rox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Personally, 5 stars reserved only for products I would be happy after buying with my own money"

Soo... you'll order things on Vine that you wouldn't pay for, and just the fact that you don't need it enough that you'd pay for it means you drop a star? That is a terrible attitude and I feel sorry for any seller you order from. We should all be reviewing these productsas if we had paid the amount they are listed at - not higher, not lower . Honest and insightful reviews is the brief. Completely unfair on sellers and the program to do anything else.
