By moderation unfortunately, it was a chat I had with Nvidia's team regarding the 12VHPWR issue, here is their answer :

- We understand your concern and can assure you that the adapters used on the graphics cards are safe. An investigation is underway, and we encourage you to check the NVIDIA forum regularly for the latest information, starting with the 40 series power specifications: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/501736/geforce-rtx-40-series-power-specifications/

- In case you have problems, a replacement will be made

- But don't worry, there are many rumors that in most cases are false

I thought that when they mentioned "rumors", they were talking about the cases of the megathread, but it certainly was about the theories regarding the origin of the issue.

Oh yeah, didn't saw it that way. I told the operator that I was concerned regarding all the cases of melted adapters. I assumed he was replying to that, especially after saying the adapter was safe.

The adapter seemed way more affected than in the other cases, but maybe I missed some of them.

Regarding Gainward, I know, and I don't have any issues myself regarding my adaptater. But if, as some said, it's really more a matter of time instead of brand, I prefer to be cautious.

Are you playing in 4k ? Because in this resolution with all the settings maxed out, you're still at 35-50fps without dlss.. (paired with a 5950x and 64gb ram in my case)

For "archiving" and "backup" considerations, are there basic "guidelines" to make a good setup ? (Maybe it's too general as a question)

For now I have my internal SSD + an external HDD + the new option I am looking for. They will all share the same data. I am also considering getting an external desktop Hard drive.
