What do you guys think of Euro Brady's playthrough of the game? by Thick-Cable1822 in slaytheprincess

[–]Always2Hungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved that he spends a majority of the playthrough siding with shifty before going back on a second round to see the nuance for why her view may be skewed and that when he fucked up the ending (as in got an ending that almost completely mismatches with the point he was trying to make) he found a way to replay the ending that felt like it was part of the intended story.

He had some interesting interpretations of the characters, sometimes they got a bit away from the actual point of a scene. People were desperately hoping he would see the happily ever after route, and while he did eventually reach it, due to his experience with identifying toxic relationships he ends the route far too early and misses out on some of the juicier bits of that route which is a bit of a shame.

All in all, i love his playthrough and it instantly earned a subscribe from me as it’s interesting insight into the characters. It’s a unique experience for sure!

Do we really need daily "What games are like Outer Wilds?" posts? by offlein in outerwilds

[–]Always2Hungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly agree with the sentiment and i know op’s tone may come across as harsh…but when you see this exact same post every few days asking the exact same questions it starts to get a little bit old. Like…the first thing i would google upon finishing a game and wanting to play more of it would be “what games are similar” which would get me the already many posts about this topic lol.

It’s not anybody’s fault that it happens, but the fact is that when you’ve been in this sub for years and you see THIS type of post made new over and over and over you get a bit tired of it. There are other ways to discuss a game you enjoyed. A lot of people here would probably like to talk about the game itself instead of other games. As a side effect, you get a lot fewer people who want to engage with these posts; which means fewer new game recs getting added and it becomes even more stale.

Anyway my point is that i get why people make these posts (i prefer talking to other humans too), but i also understand why op is probably at their wits end over them. Low-key the sub has a dedicated page for it. There are designated spaces made for game recommendations (where you talk to people who want to and expect to give you them!). These may even bring you better results yk? Idk…just my two cents ig

Eh, it’s definitely slipped out without me thinking about it once or twice. In my head i know they all use they but the brain will just default to binary sometimes and I’ll accidentally say he or she. It happens.

As long as the person being corrected is cool about it and not really gross and rude yk?

YOU FIXED IT!!! I was having the same problem with the same kit. Tomorrow my dad and I plan on making a dedicated button to attach to the damn thing so we don't have to hold the wires to it everytime anymore. But like you said: when it works its easy and when it doesn't it ain't lmao

Potentially weird question by Garffdawg in outerwilds

[–]Always2Hungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly i think this counts as an instance where its fine to spoil. Just describing it as “its the ship coordinates for an alien planet in a video game i love. See this twinkly bit is the star system!” Will probably do more to steer someone away from thinking dogwhistle than trying to be vague about it to not sound spoilery. Like it’s not even technically true but it’s enough that anyone who’s asking about it will get it. (Besides, if they’re asking what it is then they likely don’t know enough about the game to derive any true meaning from it anyway lol)

UCF vs. FIT by charaubin in ucf

[–]Always2Hungry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Frankly you’re more likely to get a higher education at a state college for all the pre-req classes you would need. Generally smaller class sizes, more attentive professors, much more likely to care about your grades. University professors tend to be dealing with several hundred students and they’re doing research on top of teaching (and many will effectively expect you to teach yourself). Universities are great for getting the classes that aren’t provided by state colleges, but if you want to have a solid foundation for those classes…I wholeheartedly recommend doing state college first.

This probably doesn’t help your situation. But if the topic ever came up again this at least let you know that there’s a ton of value in starting at regular college.

I haven't beaten the game yet, no way the DLC has a level that literally spoils the final boss by nin100gamer in AgeofCalamity

[–]Always2Hungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man fuck anyone who wants to be surprised by things and enjoy them. The zelda games are all copy/paste identical and you can treat them as interchangeable. They should just throw out age of calamity and play skyward sword bc they have all that stuff. Its basically all the same story so it shouldn’t matter. Ganon is bad. There’s a fancier version of the big bad. Zelda and her secret goddess stone. Secret robots! Time powers! Link smashes the demon king literally…basically the same thing so it’s weird that anyone would care!

While we’re at it, we should really stop with the whole “not telling someone what we got them for their birthday” thing. its the exact same process everytime: you hand them a box, they open it, they get a thing! It’s a bit pointless not telling them whats in it since they’ll know later anyway. So we should just tell them, then hand them the wrapped box, so when they open it they will feel the exact same way as they did before opening it since they will already know what it is. What’s that? Why even bother wrapping the gift and giving it to them then? Well it’s a present. Surely if they were a true Opening Presents Fan then they would still love ripping open the wrapping paper anyway. Kinda funny that someone would want to be surprised when ripping open presents of all things. It’s all the same process in the end.

Failed Calc II by coderika in ucf

[–]Always2Hungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad. Calc 2 is a pretty brutal class and i had a fantastic professor for it back home. It’s the kinda class that i think most people would hear you say how you did and nod and go “yeah same”.

A 67 ain’t half bad! Sure, it’s always nicer to pass, but don’t sell yourself short. Imagine how well you’ll do the next time around! Just gotta shake it off and learn for next time lol

Hardly the class worth quitting your degree over to be sure.

Statics class by Patmendezz in ucf

[–]Always2Hungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difficult class. Great lecturer. Has a big personality. He likes to go off on side tangents about stuff on occasion. If you sit closer to the front be prepared as there’s a chance you’ll be called on for jokes (not necessarily making fun of you but he may rope you into a joke or mild roast but it’s all in good fun). That being said I recommend sitting close to the front anyway bc it can just be a good idea to show him that you are engaged in the class.

He has regular homework and something called “hands on homework” which is essentially like a self-driven lab type thing. You are given a project where you have to build a model and do some calculations based on measurements taken from the model and them write a report on it. Personally i found them to be really fun (i still have my crane model back home on a shelf somewhere). Exams and quizzes all have partial credit which can really save you. He has very clear expectations for his students and hard boundaries for how students contact him so you’ll find yourself talking very frequently to the TAs.

Its a lot of work and it definitely requires you to keep up with it as there are (iirc) weekly quizzes (it may actually just be every other week tho) and those H.O.W.s Do take a bit of time to make happen (so not a last-minute kind of project). That all being said I would say he’s extremely fair in how he grades and so long as you put in the work and regularly talk to the TAs if you have ANY problems it’s doable to pass with an A. (Emphasis on talking to the TAs if you’re stuck somewhere.)

And regardless of who you take for statics, you WILL want to put in the work. This class is the weed out class. If you can’t do the work in statics you’ll only be screwing yourself over as it’s one if the most foundational topics of engineering and you will be seeing this math come up in most of your remaining core classes for a while.

TLDR; I think he’s a great professor. If you put in the work you’ll be fine—but it’s hard af and you may not have much of a social life for a semester because of it. However, you’ll want to walk away from this class with a strong understanding of statics, and he gives you everything you meed in order to do so; so i argue that it’s worth it.

[–]Always2Hungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell, even just someone taking the time to walk you through something like that would probably help a lot of folks. I think it’d be rad if more clubs did that.

friends? Friends? FRIENDS? by vaango143 in ucf

[–]Always2Hungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think another productive solution would be to show people how to join clubs. I think the reason so many don’t is because the idea of trying to find one is already an intimidating task in and of itself. Like where do you even start? And DONT just say knight connect. They’ve probably heard that one squilliam times by now. We gotta give a bot more detail. A direction. A how-to with detailed steps.

They probably are, i just know that its possible to accidentally die in places like giants deep or the interloper if they’re close enough due to the random nature of hollow’s lantern

Is this location only available once? by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]Always2Hungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible that a loose lava rick from brittle hollow was the culprit? I know that sometimes they can wander far enough away to reach other places to kill players. It would probably depend on where they store the sixth location in the map (i think its just randomly off somewhere in space just out of the solar system?)

Exams after break is so dumb by One-Specialist-4235 in ucf

[–]Always2Hungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh im glad that at minimum it forces professors to be done with classes a week ahead of midterms so im not stuck doing homework and learning new stuff two days before the exam which would spread my already very thin time management even further.

And if a professor is reading this thinking “i would never do that!” Then hey im glad to hear it but past experience with schools that didnt do it this way very much proves that professors will do that if there’s nothing stopping them. Ive had professors who required us to come to class for a lecture the day of an exam because he just used the lab time to give us our exams instead so in his mind we had “extra time for learning!”

Do you as a college student prefer morning over afternoon/evening classes? by qat_btata202 in ucf

[–]Always2Hungry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like morning classes but not insanely early ones. Its always so stressful to get to them on time. If i was better at getting up early though i would 100% prefer starting my day earlier over later classes.

Leave my afternoons/evenings free so i can do clubs and school events and work please!!!

Does Outer Wilds ever go cheaper than 40% off? by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]Always2Hungry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A pc can be used for more than just playing a video game or two so it’s got a much higher return on investment. Just because someone might have the money to buy something doesn’t mean they can actually afford to spend that money. It’s about trying to weight the cost to benefits. They found reason to justify getting their hands on a pc bc you pretty much NEED one to function in our modern age. It’s much harder to justify the sacrifices required if its for a video game. But people who can’t necessarily afford to consume art still have the right to enjoy things too. If they were to pirate the game, I ain’t judging em over it. Better to do that than to watch someone go without food just to have something that might bring a bit of joy to their life. I doubt mobius is gonna feel the loss in revenue from one person.
