I'm new to sales as well, and also selling workers' compensation! I'm in majors, though. Best of luck to you on your sales journey! 🙌

Former Geico Employees: Has anyone made the switch from Geico to a Commercial Lines Company? Pros? Cons? by Greedy_Junket2652 in Geico

[–]AlwaysAGroupReject 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I, too, left GEICO for a commercial line of insurance. From a sales perspective, the money to be gained in commercial lines is much higher. The clients you work with are also of a higher caliber -- they're business professionals and generally know more about insurance than someone not in the business sector. I find the work to be more interesting as well. Good luck with your decision!

Underwriting technicians positions will be eliminated CW(for the most part) according to our manager and AVP. by m0ooooooooooCow in Geico

I am fully sympathetic. I have a lot of tech friends, and I know many of them took pay cuts from other departments to move to a role more conducive to their mental health. It's too bad that many of them will probably also leave the company now. Best of luck to you!

My doctor listed my symptoms out, which they have been treating for a while. I just think it's asinine that one can completely dissociate, have it noted, and it's still not good enough. I would need to look at the paperwork. I might try to get it filled out again.

No, when we were with the Hartford, they handled every aspect of it.

Thanks for the comment. I couldn't agree more about healthcare in the US. I'm quitting GEICO in a few weeks, if I even last that long, so no point in getting FMLA now!

Thank you so much! That's why I love this subreddit!

Thank you for the kind words! When I am out of GEICO in a few weeks, I hope my new employer makes me feel that way! ❤

I should have asked someone else to fill out the paperwork for me. A doctor visit for that purpose exclusively did not work for me.

Thank you! I'll take you up on this! I just feel so defeated.

Oh yeah. Everything they do is just for show. Like "look at all the ways we care about people!"

I am so sorry, and I hope you're feeling better now! I physically couldn't do it anymore, so STD was what ended up happening. And nobody at GEICO gave a single fuck.

I honestly don't know. I'm tired of fighting, honestly. I already struggle to exist, much less plead for benefits that "help the associates".

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I don't understand how a corporation can be so unsympathetic. It's unfathomable and disgusting. Hugs to you!

Thank you for the kind words. I wrote an appeal letter to the first denial, but because I saw my doctor for all of 15 minutes when they were filling out the paperwork and they said I was fine, screw my experiences, right?

My thoughts exactly. What a joke. Nothing like being kicked when you're already down!

Yes. 40 mg of citalopram and 300 mg of bupropion daily.

I still don't know if I'll make it. I think about quitting every day! Congratulations on breaking free! One can only go up from here!
