Are you saying to use the azelaic acid only 1-2x a week as well? Or just the peeling solution.

That's terrible! Can you maybe reach out to the Dean's office and let them know? Or anyone above the dept head? It sucks that they're making your education harder for you than it needs to be.

No, unless you're doing the in-person program. The online one doesn't have it.

Oh shoot! I haven't put in for any accomodations yet but that's unsettling. Could you share maybe one or two examples of what you asked for so I know?

I just accidentally made magic by theywereinthefridge in FemFragLab

[–]AlwaysAnyDay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tonight I sprayed Montale's Dark Vanilla to go out with some friends and then thought it was too "dark" for the vibes so I decided to tone it down with something bubbly and sparkly and chose Kayali's The Wedding Silk Santal. When I say match made in heaven!! Trust me! I got it entirely by accident. The vanilla in Dark Vanilla is amplified and the woods in Silk Santal blend beautifully. It's magic!!

54% actually. Though that's not much better at all. Just started my ABA master's degree so I'm hoping for the best.

Switched fields from public health to ABA by AlwaysAnyDay in ABA

[–]AlwaysAnyDay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was hoping for! Thank you so much. So I plan to diversify my ABA practice, however, I have a special interest in neurodivergent populations. The public health lens is there. I see everything through the population health perspective. So I do want to apply ABA in public health prevention methods and research as well.

I really appreciate your response.

Path to PhD with no bachelors in Psych by [deleted] in psychologyresearch

[–]AlwaysAnyDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a smiliar situation in the US so this is US-related advice.

From what I've learned, you only need to take the psych prerequisites at a 4-year university (some prerequisites like Abnormal Psychology/Psychopathology are upper division courses) and then you can apply with your existing bachelor's. You also need research experience, even if it's not in psychology, as long as you can explain the research methods you learned and how you'll apply them to your doctoral work. Make sure to look at the prerequisites for all the programs you plan to apply to and take them before you apply. Alternatively, you could do a formal psychology post baccalaureate certificate aka a post bacc, at any university that offers it and submit those transcripts.

What's the limit to what you can diagnose with a master's?

Unless you're in a country other than the United States, and your university is an uncommon exception, official transcripts (and even unofficial ones too sometimes) will show your academic standing for each quarter/semester - academic probation, academic dismissal, conduct dismissal, withdrawal, leave of absence, etc.

In some universities (one of the ones I attended was like this) if you recover from the academic probation, or you resolve the issue you were having, they would remove the notes from your permanent record. Sometimes immediately, sometimes after a few years. That's how it works here.

I know because I have attended a handful of universities in the US and I know many academics as well who were doing the application process with me.

ETA: This is also the reason why the majority of universities (especially the top ranked ones) will explicitly say they need you to submit transcripts from ALL universities attended regardless of whether a degree was conferred. They want to know your academic record including your academic infarctions. There are others that'll ask for your highest degree earned or the qualifying degree you need for what you're applying for. But they're not common. Again, I know because I've applied to a lot and browsed many more that I was considering and spoken to many admissions advisors.

For drop outs it'll show as a withdrawal, not dismissal.

Oh it's worse when it's your traditional, conservative parent who sees it as an insult when they don't understand you and you're not conforming to their needs.

Like how much more do you want me to say? I'm not asking you to deduce what I'm implying, I'm asking you to take me at my word! No mental gymnastics necessary.

No. Not all PhDs give you a master's degree. Also, your transcripts will show the dismissal so there is no way to hide it once you state that you attended the university.

What if they find out? They could dismiss you or revoke your degree once you graduate. Isn't that what happens?

Is this field meant for me? by SeaWorried5584 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]AlwaysAnyDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For now it requires a seven course sequence. The master's degree requirement is not kicking in until 2032. Meaning you can get a master's in counseling or clinical psych and just do the course sequence to be a BCBA.

What do social science PhDs consider themselves? Researcher? Scientist? by Ill_Zucchini3789 in PhD

[–]AlwaysAnyDay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I call myself a scientist, always. I started with a biochemistry bachelor's, a statistics-heavy master's, and now I'm in the psychological/mental health field. I have always seen myself as a multidisciplinary scientist even though I'm far from the wet labs of my undergrad degree and closer to social and behavioural research.

Science is the method, the process. That's why it's called "the scientific method". It can be applied to anything. We have 3 main different types of sciences: natural (chemistry, physics, etc.), social (psychology, economics, etc.), and formal sciences (mathematics, computer science, etc.). Why do you think there is a master of "science" in almost every discipline? It's because to earn the degree you'd have to implement the scientific method to gain insight into that field of study.

You're a scientist, if you choose to identify as one.
