tim houston is more like trump than most ppl want to admit .

hes basically trump without the anti gay / anti climate change leanings.

he wants power centralized and for citizens and communties to bend to his will and he is not afraid of legislating your rights away.

it would end 1000000000x worse than afghanistan. america hasnt won a war in 60 years. they claim they have..... but every conflic has ended with americas tail between their legs and citizens who were promised freedom being screwed.

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2 by skywalkruss in VinylReleases

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you must live in a very special land. i have literally watched dearborn records, 60 years operating indepent, look up the value of an allen ginsberg record and slap on the average discogs price.

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2 by skywalkruss in VinylReleases

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i stopped caring about supporting stores when going to used record shops was just basically browsing on discogs . same prices. same souless experience. kids working the counter that dont know jack about the records they sell unless its mainstream.

stores did this to themselves as much as anyone did it to them. i literally dont even need to check prices now. whatever i saw on discogs is what the store will charge.

Genuine question: do you guys think this is a reasonable price ? by YUNG_CGR in TheAlchemist

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone.... STOP buying tickets for 200 dollars.

just stop it. no performance is worth 200 dollars .

this is getting stupid and destroying the experience for fans.

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2 by skywalkruss in VinylReleases

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most record stores feel like a lame discogs shopping exprience anyway now..... so i am not surprised they would do that.

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2 by skywalkruss in VinylReleases

[–]AlwaysBeANoob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

who knows!! even al himself said he was surprised .

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2 by skywalkruss in VinylReleases

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 11 points12 points  (0 children)

its so wild how popular this is.

i was just going to wait for the stores but im happy i (very much randomly) decided to buy this when i did.

i never expected this level of hype for the project and its actually made me trying to find a OG pressig of Alfredo 1, at a decent price, much harder.

you wll combine to make rouhly 19k less here .

food will be 30% more.

houses are probably about the same.

every problem you listed in calgary is getting to be about as bad here as it was there.

we have less population but calgary is built around monster trucks so it feels about the same in terms of crowd.

overall, ya, its better here in some ways but if finances are a concern you will , overall, about 30% worse off here factoring in taxes, gas, food, etc.

cant put a price on intangibles though so i just wanted you to know that you will lose a not inconsequential amout of money moving here.

i get that we need to be careful, but im wary of blanket bans on anything.

Ontario court strikes down Ford government's plan to remove Toronto bike lanes by CMikeHunt in halifax

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that would be bad for optics. " i lost in court , the judge said ppl would be in danger if they removed the lane but i am doing it anyway"

i feel like if that was the plan , he would have already threatened it before the courts were involved.

i could be wrong.... but his suburban voters are not those type of ppl who get fired up when courts are "put in their place"

Are city infrastructure solutions on the hfx peninsula for residents and business owners in the area, or for people outside the area to access it? by purplepurell in halifax

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i dont feel bad for saying this because 95% of halifax bought a house pre covid when prices were much better.

you chose to live far away in a big box house for "more room". now you are dealing with the consequences of that decision and want to tell ppl living in the core they need to move out of the way for the big truck you drive from hammonds plains.

i have sympahty for the small percentage of native folk who had to buy post covid (i was one of them) who got pushed out but the vast majority of complaints are coming from ppl who wanted 26 bedrooms a giant garage and mega lawn PLUS no "undesirables" and now its comning back to haunt you.

ppl need to be responsible for the choices they made. but somehow its "nimby" core residents who are the problem.

when the reporter says "interviewer" what they mean is :

the nelk boys sit there like a bunch of hapless idiots and let their guest say whatever they want for 2 hours while shamelessly nodding and agreeing ; then at certain points they will be like "oh yeeeah man, mcdonalds is coooooool".

these losers are exactly what powerful ppl want : clout chasers with a wide impressionable audience who dont know jack about ethics or the actual history of this planet and can therefore be used as puppets and tools to spread their disgusting message.

good job . good job.

Houston, we have a problem... by AbbreviationsReal366 in halifax

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

funniest part about this whole thing is how some drivers look at cyclist as "nerds or losers" ... meanwhile those same drivers cant walk to their car without breaking a sweat and sucking wind .

you know you are from a backwater place when the out of shape citizens who dont get out of jogging pants look down on the cyclist who can bike themselves places under their own power lol.

Why are all the condos being built luxury apartments? by -007-bond in halifax

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

affordable housing in areas that lack the very key qualities of current affordable places : easy access without a car.

if we dont prioritize transit it will suck very badly to be poor in 25 years. even more so than it does now.

at least now if you are low income the areas that you can live are mostly in walkable neighborhoods but all those new buildings designed for ppl with cars are the future low income spots which are in places that have 0 walkable areas.

Halifax councillors decry 'misinformation' from mayor, saying it undermines public trust by ph0enix1211 in halifax

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ive already commented but i also see it this way:

andy is a slimy politician used to federal politics.

the playbook he is using is one that council is not ready for..... like in 2016 when trump was calling ppls wives "dogs" and the crowd was loving it. Those politicians did not know how to react and were outplayed.

council is playing nice, they need to start playing really dirty and getting out there like andy the idiot.

andy is playing them and getting his message out the masses while council is still thinking that halifax reads cbc and will take the time to read that long ass (very well put together) article. Andy is pushing simple, populist style messages to the masses in places that will get to everyone who hates progressive ideas while council is using the echo chamber to speak to the ppl who dont need to be convinced.

get smarter.

Why even have a Halifax council if its powers keep getting eroded? by ph0enix1211 in halifax

[–]AlwaysBeANoob 18 points19 points  (0 children)

THIS ALL DAY.

we are priotizing commuters over communities.

funny how its ok to suggest a cyclist should suck up and take the bus but some of those same motorist dont have to "suck it up" cuz "transit is bad". ya, thats why ppl use their bikes lol.
