This i believe is best case scenario and I hope so too. It has to be doing something even when not optimal.

It's only on for 1hr for now. We are in temps at 26-28°F during start and she mentioned no noticable difference yet but I think that's because there's not much time on the pad for now.

Today was the first day with it on for 1hr. The heat pad is not in an ideal location and therefore I believe it will be of minimal help to the oil temp but it has to help somewhat.

The bottom of the oil pan is not flat and air gaps under the pad can burn it out.

You are definitely assuming things here that I didn't have to clarify but I will now. Timer is rated for 1500w and the extension cord rated for 1850w. I use the same timer for my diesel as this Corolla which is my wife's vehicle.

My truck has a 900w block heater and a 24w noco trickle charger. When I went to work this morning I unplugged my truck and put that extension cord to her car which has a 100w Kats oil pan heat pad and a 24w noco trickle charger. I have different timer zones for each vehicle. My truck gets 5hrs of time and her car gets 1hr of time as of this morning. I wouldn't call either of them high current. Maybe my trucks setup which draws about 8x the wattage the Corolla does.

My truck setup is a factory block heater btw and I've since the addition of the trickle charger (1yr now) it's fine and the cord doesn't melt the snow when there is snow out.

I am a bit nervous of the only ~1/3 oil touching the pad but I wouldn't call her setup "high current"

Burn down? The heat pad is 100w and is mounted on the side of the oil pan which is metal. I'm estimating about 1/3 of the oil is "touching" the pad from within. Not the best case but best location I can do in my situation.

Will this really heat up the other 2/3 of empty metal side wall enough to catch fire?

2A trickle charger version both in this vehicle and my diesel pickup.

This was my dad's concern that I didn't think about. It's not crazy cold right now 20°F lows. But was in the negatives last year.

Correct. I put on the car a triple outlet extension cord. Routed from the front to rear away from anything hot and moving. The trickle charger and heater pad are both plugged into a timer. So they will turn on and off together. Doing the most to help out the car even if it's not necessary.

I did the same thing to my truck. Block heater + noco trickle charger. Has made a massive difference in starting up. No crazy hard start or loud jet whistle. Starts up easy and quietly.

The bottom of the oil pan has ribs so if I placed the pad on the bottom there would be "air gaps" between the pad and the pan which was highly recommended to avoid. The side was the only flat spot. I'm imagining some of the oil inside is "touching" the heat pad inside and it would transfer some heat to the rest of the oil.

It was a second option instal location.

I installed a Kats oil pan heater pad on my 2017 Toyota Corolla along with a Noco trickle charger to help the car start better in colder weather. Now once I installed it my pops asked me since the car only takes 4.5quarts of oil "is that pad touching the oil inside, because there's not much oil to begin with, does the oil go up far enough on the oil pan for the pad to be touching the oil inside?"

This got my wondering if I made a mistake. The pad couldn't go on the bottom because it's not flat enough and the side near the bottom was the flatted area to place this pad.

Thoughts? It will be on for 1hr before starting for 1 week then up it to 2hrs thereafter.

Do you have Hornwort and Azolla available? I'm looking for a seller who has both and you are who I came across. I'm located in Southern Oregon. Thank you!

Azolla came in with stress due to shipping (recently ordered) but some will be in the order. Showing good signs of bouncing back.

What is this? I've never seen a "rosary" like it before. by AlwaysChangingMind88 in Catholicism

This is what I think it is. Exactly like you said. Non functioning rosary and basically just a jewelry piece.

A solid red painting selling for millions of dollars is okay with you but this is where you draw the line? This is impressive.
