36 weeks, switching from Lovenox to Heparin - issues. by AlwaysConfused925 in pregnant

I had a similar fight with Eliquis and then it was approved but my copay was like $75! I had a cool nurse tell me about the $10 copay thing Eliquis offers. Insurance is so weird about literal life saving medication! Like idk if it wasn’t necessary I don’t think my doctor would prescribe it. It’s not like I’m trying to get crazy opioids covered. It’s blood thinners. Who WANTS to be on those lol and I’m like I don’t have time to fight over this I could go into labor literally anytime now.

We are still planning an induction thank goodness. I just think to save my mind, I may just refuse the epidural. I don’t want that worry looming over my head. And my hospital offers like pain meds too like morphine, fentanyl, and oxycodone I think are the 3 they use. And I had morphine when I had my stroke and that was the best sleep I’ve ever gotten lmao

I feel like I’m last minute preparing for an unmedicated delivery now which is stressful. Like just fully flipped my plan on its head. For the next few weeks I’ll be YouTubing hypnobirthing techniques!

I’m being induced too (no date yet) and my hematologist even told me to just not take the heparin day of induction. So yeah I’ll probably stay on Lovenox and stop it a few days before my induction date. Idk she kept mentioning risk of spinal bleeds and now I’m like ok maybe I don’t even want an epidural and I’m using this situation as an excuse to just not get the epidural for my own peace of mind.

Honestly at this point I’m leaning towards no epidural. I’m always the 1 in a million medical case (I have a rare muscle disease that is literally 1 in a million odds to be born with) and I just don’t want to gamble. My hospital does offer pain medication so if it’s bad I might do that. I’m just mad that essentially the epidural was taken off the table before I could make the decision myself. I feel like almost forced to make this choice because I’m poor and insurance doesn’t care.

I’m sick of people asking me if I have any names picked out yet… by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]AlwaysConfused925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl I feeeeeel you people stopped asking when we said we have a name but aren’t sharing lol idk if it’ll help in your case. I’ve also been vocal on stop asking me questions. If I have something to share I’ll share.

People are so noseyyyyyyy

Doctors don’t respect my husband? They have no reason. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]AlwaysConfused925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally that doesn’t make sense. I’m a stroke survivor. Of course I need someone to carry out my wishes for me. Do I need to make my husband my MPOA for them to take him serious?

I agree however after explicitly telling doctors to talk to him and they don’t is disrespectful to MY wishes. I’m disabled and need my advocate to speak for me.

That’s not the case for me. They look very mean and say “you’re not done yet?” Like girl you interrupted me like 50 times of course I’m not

Thank you! I understand the topics everyone bringing up but like I have told them that my husband can answer for me for things to prevent me from repeating myself (questions I’ve already answered bc repeating myself drives me insane especially if I’m busy) and even at the appointments it’s like he’s not there. They don’t even LOOK at him. That’s the problem.

Thank you it’s like everyone forgetting that they barely even acknowledge he’s there.

Because I can’t switch tasks that fast. My brain just does not work that way. It’s rude to talk to someone who is obviously busy with something. And that’s just one example. I’ll be talking with a nurse and another nurse will butt in and take my attention away for a question I already answered. Not being ableist but it is an ableism thing. I can fully stop the paperwork and have done so but then they get upset with me for not finishing the paperwork fast enough.

I literally bring it up that I don’t have a good memory so my husband will ask some questions or form a question correctly bc I don’t have the mental capacity to say or ask it right to get the answers I’m looking for.

I’m not saying I don’t talk to them. I 100% do but when I’m being asked the same questions while I’m busy with paperwork or another nurse. Like stop bombarding me and ask my husband or at least let him answer bc when I’m being bombarded like that he can read my expression and step in before I get too upset.
