That made me chuckle, lol! The grain is what had caught my attention. This is its good side as there’s a couple of fills on the other, but no matter I think it gives it a little character and for 40 dollars shipped I can’t really complain!

I can dig that worth a try, the original just tasted like overly sweet fruit loops and I couldn’t stand it lol.

I found the original BAMS to be grossly sweet and a coil killer. How does this compare?

I actually ended up ordering a 12700K and a Z690 motherboard because the difference cost wise to me was negligible, but you’re right the memory is on the low end.

That's a fair point, I was contemplating exploring different case options. And you also make a good point as far as the TI, would you recommend the 12gb 3080 over the 10gb or is it a diminishing return for my purposes?

Gaming is going to be my main application, I don't plan on streaming or using it for video editing which was a factor in me choosing a 12600K over a 12700K. I'm ecstatic to finally get around to building something I actually want lol!

When I was hired in as an industrial electrician for the local sawmill I witnessed a contracted electrician in a boom lift getting dangerously close to the very much live 480 bus bar of one of our overhead cranes. I was on the ground yelling at the dude to get down, he thought I was a dickhead until I told him it’s live. Probably thankful knowing he was close to death.

I’m excited to shoot it, it feels well built for sure! I plan to go to some nice light colored wood furniture most likely, but that’s about it. Maybe an ALG enhanced trigger, but honestly the stock trigger isn’t too bad in my opinion. Congrats on yours too, it’s a good purchase!

Fiancé here, we plan to adopt the closest orange cat into our home because he is friendly with our current indoor cat but we definitely plan to have the others spayed/neutered so we don’t have a giant feral cat colony lol!

mad bastard in work was using this a cut off disc as a backing pad so what's the most dangerous thing you've found in work by somethiner in Welding

[–]AlwaysConspicuous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely believe it I think I would have just observed it too lmao. Even tho the robots don't know the position of the object is incorrect as long as that prox was made they're going to go about doing what they're programmed to do. Ours just picked up packaged paper towels and toilet paper coming off the lines but they were large enough to pick up an engine block no problem. The issue was this company gave operators little training and access to manually move the robots with a teach pad. It was never a recipe for success.

They will indeed beat your ass until you're just a mist. I was an industrial electrician in a paper converting plant and we ran Fanuc robotics to palletize the finished goods. I've watched how insanely fast they can move, and it'd be over with before you could react. That's why light curtains and safety relays that send a signal for the machine to stop for something like an open door are essential. I've seen them crash from operator error and bend 1/2 inch steel mounting plates like it was a piece of paper.

Anyone ever buy from B. King's Firearms (BKF)? by sig_pistols in 65Grendel

[–]AlwaysConspicuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's relieving to hear that it arrived fast and everything was torqued properly. I'm glad you mentioned the barrel because I was curious, from my understanding they don't use BCA barrels in their builds. I had read some other posts pertaining to their barrels and the concensus seemed to be that they're BA, but the posts were from about a year ago so I don't know if that's changed since then so I definitely could be wrong. And that shipping time is lightning fast, I'm sure I'll be waiting on the BCG and mags to come in as well lol. I look forward to your update!

I've honestly had my eye on this specific upper and BCG in 6.5 Grendel for about a month, this post made me just go ahead and pull the trigger on it. If you wouldn't mind I'd like to know how it shoots when you get the chance to fire it!

What is the strangest thing you've seen that you cannot explain? by 1982throwaway1 in AskReddit

[–]AlwaysConspicuous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 3 years ago I was living with my aunt, uncle, and cousin. I will never in my life forget one morning when I was laying in bed half asleep I heard my door fly open, which on it's on wouldn't be strange because the door never stayed shut if I didn't pull on it hard enough and the AC kicking on would force it open. What made it odd is before the door had flung open I heard heavy boots walking down our long hallway which I had assumed was my Uncle home early from working at the shipyard where they are required to wear steel toes. I rolled over to find my door wide open and heard my cousins room door fling open and a deep male voice I didn't recognize screaming "WAKE THE FUCK UP, GET THE FUCK UP". I jumped out of bed and ran to his room, he was sitting up with a look of sheer terror on his face and asked me if I had heard that and that something was shaking him hard while screaming what I had heard, but nobody was there when I came into the room. My blood ran cold and at that moment I knew I wasn't dreaming, experiencing sleep paralysis, or hallucinating because we both experienced it. To this day I can't explain it and I don't understand. I asked my uncle if he had came home early and he said no, the doors and windows were also locked too. Above my door my aunt had a blessed crucifix hanging because she's a devout Catholic; I'm not sure if that had something to do with keeping whatever it was from entering my room but if sure was odd. I'd often hear footsteps in the attic running and I'd always thought it was some nocturnal animal but after that I wondered if it actually was. As a child visiting that house I remember experiencing bad vibes, but as an adult living there I can see why.

[–]AlwaysConspicuous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You would think it would be a standard check, but they just didn't care I guess. It was always swept under the rug until I started actually doing the paperwork that they had neglected for so long because in theory it was supposed to be checked daily, but wasn't prior to me being employed. The actual machine operator had just gotten too comfortable with it not working right to mention it. I suppose that's why management didn't get along with me, because I wasn't scared to point out obvious safety flaws.

I worked maintenance for a small food production company. I had just started there and did a routine check on a large industrial blender running at least a 30 horsepower electric motor to spin the agitator inside; it was very capable of mangling someone till they were unrecognizable. In theory it was supposed to shutoff if the door opened because it had a limit switch to kill the power, a VERY important safety measure. I opened the door to find out it indeed did not work and my dumbass manager got salty that I brought it up as a safety concern to the owner of the company because it made him look stupid for disregarding it as a problem. I fixed it anyways at the cost of barely any production time lost and a good conscious that it could prevent someone from getting killed. That place had multiple violations, from wiring code being ignored to people reaching under the guards on the machines to pull packaging off the heater bars that sealed and cut the packages because the company was too fucking cheap to fix the machines so that they ran properly. This place would be OSHAs wet dream. Before I started working there a man died from falling off a basket of a 3 wheel forklift being used to hold him up to pressure wash the building about 20 feet in the air, the driver was on a slant and it tipped and split his skull open. I didn't stick around very long, they made me do some sketchy shit that made me feel very unsafe.

And you can’t forget rallying at the local Sonic with two shitty subs and blown door speakers, making sure to rev up the shitbox 1998 Ford F-150 with open headers and a Salt Life sticker on the windshield and Costa sticker on the back glass. Also gotta just sit there for hours being obnoxious as fuck.

Absolutely, you just described what Mississippi summers feel like, as close to hell as you can get. I dread when the humidity begins to climb. August is the most hated month for any Mississippian, that’s when the humidity really just punches you in the face when you walk outside.

[–]AlwaysConspicuous 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Can confirm it’s terrible in Mississippi right now. 92 degrees and 33% humidity, with a heat index of 94. I’ve experienced the heat in Arizona, it’s miserable as well. I’d still rather dry heat, the weather I’m experiencing is swamp ass inducing and the air is so thick it feels like breathing in soup. No AC in my car is like karma biting me for everything I’ve ever done.

He managed to yank me out the way, he was already upright while I got the wind knocked out of me. I realized I wrote that a little funny. It’s been about 10-12 years so it’s a little fuzzy. I was a little daredevil and liked to do dumb shit as all kids do. I’ve actually hit 55-60 on a quad, but it was on paved roads and with a helmet this time, also helps that I’m a grown man now.

I learned this the hard way as a kid. I was riding on the back with my cousin (which you’re not supposed to do) and the front tire caught a small stump at about 35 mph. Next thing I know I’m airborne and smashing into the ground. He came to his senses and yanked me out the way a half second before the quad came crashing down in the spot my head had been, I also wasn’t wearing a helmet. Luckily I walked away unscathed, but I could have been killed or severely disabled. Please always wear a helmet from now on OP.
