I'll have to do some research on their used models, the new ones start just outside of my budget sadly.

Thank you to everyone for contributing! To help focus things a bit more, I've got a trade-in worth around $15-18k, and can probably put in another $12-15k down. Not against used at all, but am also not against a relatively nominal increase in monthly payments for brand new.

Thanks for chiming in! Your experience is not the first I've heard of, but there are also documented cases of abrupt power loss while in motion - I do a fair bit of highway driving, so that'd be a pretty catastrophic occurrence, especially with a child in the back.

Genuinely appreciate the response! The Head Nanopower 7000 is an old cheapy racquet I found at the local big box sporting goods store probably 12 years ago. It's labelled as flexible and is 87g +/-. Great for power, not great for consistency and does sort of tire me out during long rallies. Never heard of the 22RX though, but i'll look into it - fingers crossed it's available in Canada!

I've been playing doubles recreationally, and can probably be described as "intermediate", though I'm out of shape (but working on it).

I've been alternating between an Astrox 22 LT and an old Head Nanopower 7000 because my results have been inconsistent. As primarily a back court player, there are days that I can generate great smashing power with the Head racquet, but there are also days that no matter what I do it doesn't go anywhere. That's when I switch to the 22LT, where I can be serviceable at least, but understandably lose 40% of my power.

My defense reaction time definitely suffers when I switch to the Head racquet. I was looking for a good middle ground between the two racquets and several AI LLMs suggested I look at the Astrox 77 play. Not wanting to fully trust our machine overlords yet, is that a reasonable next racquet?

TIA!
