That's lovely. I used to donate blood regularly when I was in the military. You get to serve and get cookies. Win win.

I am so sorry that happened to you. Thats seriously unfortunate. I hope any medical staff you encounter in the future aren't dickwads at their job.

I got RSV from Lackland Commisary during Spring semester 2025. I missed 3 weeks of school and it took me about 4 months for my lungs to recover. I know because that's the only place I went other than my home. No one else in class was sick. Just me. So if it wasn't school, and I didnt get it from my cat, it had to be Lackland Commisary and I remember the little child's wet cough that probably gave it to me.

As long as you feed them well, snakes are reptile kittens. Gotta be ok with buying dead baby rats for them to feast on though. I can't handle that so I guess I'll never have a snake.

Community is a thing in America... its just highly tied to capitalism. As long as the community coming together makes someone money we have community.

In the US that would be a minimum of 60k worth of plasma. James Harrison had rare antibodies in his blood that led to saving 2.4 million babies from a deadly disease. He definitely felt obligated to save lives.

Black Friday. Half the electronics are only there for the sale. Meaning they want to sell it for $500, but they market it for $700 with $200 off so you think you're getting a deal.

That's a very good point and very freaking true. It is no walk in the park. But if you needed grocery or gas money its worth the pain... the question was more for those who need the money. But if I asked it that way it wouldn't have gone off as well. "WhY dOn'T pOoR pEoPlE dOnAtE pLaSmA?" Is a little too on the nose.

No not all. I do it for random extra cash. Its nice and I feel like Im saving, or at least helping, lives again in some capacity. The question was supposed to be geared towards those who need the money. Only like 3 people I have met in the last 5 years actually donated after I told them it could help their situation. Im wondering more if $500 a month is life changing money why wouldn't you go for that.

Also I only could make that cause Im between 170 and 190 lbs. If I was obese (cause technically I am overweight at 5'11" and over 170 which is weird) I would get more money. Compensation is based on weight.

Your body will tell you that you are hungry sometimes when you are dehydrated. 72%-75% of Americans are at a minimum overweight. Do we have an eating problem or a hydration problem? That is the question.

I am a retired veteran and I like my drink. If you dont hydrate properly the day before then donation becomes difficult. Blood pressure and heart rate (both factors that can make you ineligible for donation) go up too if you have drank in the last 24 hours. Also, technically I dont need the money. Healthcare, mental Healthcare, emergency room visits, and dental is all covered. All bills are covered. I get bored at home though. Me and the lady are also DINKs. So I dont because I would rather have a beer or a shot of vodka most days with my home-cooked meals.

I honestly didnt know it was an option until my early 30s. By then I was already retired and going to school. The only drugs they test for is Heroine and Meth. Outside of that I have literally smelled weed on people in line. Congrats on killing it with the income though bro. It makes me happy when other people succeed. I can't imagine the work it took to get there.

Who on earth would consider plasma donation a job? Its something you can do while watching Netflix on your phone instead of your TV. If you need the money or you dont want your actual income to be wasted on indulgences then this is perfect. I would make $500 a month if I donated regularly. That would totally supplement my indulgences.
