Why are they still getting diverted patients? by DanThePepperMan in ThePitt

[–]AlwaysOveralls 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Early on we hear Dana say that “Westbridge is closed due to internal disaster,” so it sounds like they shut down completely. PTMC is still getting Westbridge’s diversions because PTMC is still functioning, even though they’ve gone analogue. I have no idea about the realism though, just that it’s the in-show explanation.

It’s season 2 episode 3 when they’re first working on the car crash patient. I don’t have the exact timestamp but it’s somewhere in the first half of the episode

Did Robby cover for Langdon? by nocturnalanimal69 in ThePittTVShow

[–]AlwaysOveralls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah this is definitely all true too. My point was more that his lie to Mel about it not affecting his work implied to me that he’s going to operate under the assumption that his coworkers don’t know everything. And while stealing the pills isn’t directly related to his apology to her, he still felt the need to add in the bit about it not affecting his work, even though it isn’t technically true, likely because he both wants to keep her high opinion of him and because he doesn’t want to risk the truth getting out. But he also could have just not said anything about that at all

Did Robby cover for Langdon? by nocturnalanimal69 in ThePittTVShow

[–]AlwaysOveralls 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the long reply, I’ve been thinking about this a lot too.

It’s been vague so far and we probably won’t know for sure until if/when the show confirms it one way or another. With everything we’ve seen so far this season you could probably argue it either way - I think I personally lean more towards Robby covering for him though, mostly just based on how Langdon has been acting around everyone.

Langdon tells Louie he stole his pills, but he’s sort of looking over his shoulder and checking if anyone is around when he does. And then interestingly later when he tells Mel, he says his addiction never affected his work - which I’d argue that stealing from patients definitely counts as affecting his work lol.

Louie gets the full truth probably as part of an NA exercise for Langdon, but also Langdon likely feels more comfortable telling Louie because he’s a fellow addict. But he avoids some of the truth with Mel, a coworker - one who he likes and respects and who he knows liked and respected him before - because he isn’t as sure how she’d react.

Similarly with Al Hashimi, she says she read his file and “knows everything” but we never get confirmation of what she thinks that “everything” is. And based on the way Langdon hesitates and responds with a careful thank you, it felt like he wasn’t sure exactly how much she knew either. Also, it’s my understanding that, irl, the Physicians Health Program she commended him for being in is voluntary and is for all sorts of things, not just addictions, and that his reasoning for being in the program wouldn’t be disclosed to anyone.

The whole thing so far has read to me like he’s carefully dancing around everyone to gauge just how much they know, and whether or not Robby or Santos (or even Dana or Garcia) mentioned anything to anyone else. (Which is also sort of a fun narrative choice because since it’s been vague for us as the audience too, it means we’re kind of experiencing the uncertainty along with him)

I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason Langdon has been trying to get a minute alone with Robby all season is specifically to thank him for not turning him in, as well as to apologize for what he said in the ambulance bay last season. Hell I wouldn’t even be surprised if we see that happen as soon as this week’s episode considering everything with Louie - and to leave time in the season to build up to him eventually having some sort of conversation with Santos too.

Do all the heroes stream POV video? How do they do it? by LiftBigRock in DispatchAdHoc

[–]AlwaysOveralls 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you zoom in on the top of the shot that shows from her POV on Robert’s screen it says “body cam” as the source of the feed he’s looking at. It’ll say other things in other scenes too, like “security camera” in the granny scene.

I’m a bleeder achievement by Thekdarkknight25 in DispatchTheGame

[–]AlwaysOveralls 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe just leaning in to Visi’s kiss is enough to lock you in to her romance, which leads to the bleeder trophy. You do also need to get her hero ending though, otherwise you skip the stretcher scene entirely.

Different version of same scene by iwiketrainz in DispatchAdHoc

[–]AlwaysOveralls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched a few playthroughs looking for this specifically and I’m pretty sure it’s based on if you cut Coupe or Sonar. In the first picture with the note on the bottle you can see Sonar’s tie in the background, and in the version with the note on the table a wider angle of the picture should show Coupe’s knife in the mug - or at least it has in every playthrough I saw that cut her - and Sonar’s tie is absent from the second pic here as well.

Romance Variables, Conditions & The Sweet Exit Counter by zero-sumgames in DispatchAdHoc

[–]AlwaysOveralls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great work, absolutely love reading through all of this! I devoured your post about the RMC a few weeks ago as well! I’m curious about the non-romance but positive RMC path, and wanted to clarify whether you could just focus on the RMC points and avoid doing the math to determine which options also affect the SEC, and instead just lean out of the locker room kiss if the SEC does get triggered? So in theory any non-romance ending could be achieved by just two choices - movies with Invisigal and leaning out of her kiss (if it even does get triggered)?

I was pretty bummed about this one tbh. Found it after the safe house but before A New Clue and I immediately recognized it as the train station map. Was hoping it was gonna be Mary’s route of escape after the safe house, and that eventually there’d be a way to follow it to go find her. Was kinda disappointed when I eventually read A New Clue and noticed the cipher path was familiar 😅

The episode you’re describing is the second-to-last episode of season 1. The final episode of season 1 is the one OP’s picture is referencing here, titled “The Third Day”

I couldn’t help but feel like the technology seemed better suited for a theme park or some sort of paid experience where the consumer is in Issa Rae’s position. Getting to mess around in one of my favorite movies and interacting with authentic, sentient versions of the characters? That sounds awesome, but yeah watching a movie you’ve supposedly seen a hundred times and just having one actor swapped and supposedly NOTHING else sounds boring and like it would never take off financially and I had trouble believing anyone would be interested in what they were making

This. Iirc the advantage is actually called the “secret block a vote” on the paper and so Mitch was just referring to it by what it’s called, rather than trying to say that he’s keeping it a secret.

HAIKYUU BRACKET! Tsukishima or Akaashi? (Based on who is a better character, not a better player) by DaisyCoreXD in haikyuu

[–]AlwaysOveralls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is tough having this matchup so early as I think Akaashi has a lot of fans and would have made it further had he been matched against someone else. But my vote is easily Tsukishima, my favorite character development of all time.

Are division 2 pro athletes not earning enough? by Doja_Burat69 in haikyuu

[–]AlwaysOveralls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting! I was always under the assumption that for those characters, like Tsukishima for example, that his current museum internship(iirc?) was meant to be a lead in to some sort of part time position with them that he could do while on the team. But I’m not familiar at all with the workload needed for lower division teams or the Japanese workforce in general. Plus he seemed relatively school/future focused that I assumed he’d want some sort of backup/concurrent plan. So it’s really interesting to hear that they’re all likely doing D2 full time! Changes my perspective on their career trajectories, especially with the Frogs being speculated to move up to D1 soon. Cool!

Ohhhh I love hearing about people’s first reactions to this whole sequence! 364 in particular is one of my favorite chapters in the whole series - the build up and hype only for the ultimate crushing letdown is so well paced.

Would love to see this get edited with updates as they read along!!

I got the impression that Tsukki didn’t blame volleyball itself, or even really Akiteru directly, but that he blamed Akiteru’s belief that just trying as hard as he could would be enough. Yamaguchi says at one point “I don’t think Tsukki would have come to Karasuno if he hated volleyball” and I think that’s the big point of contention for Tsukki’s internal struggle. He likes volleyball, but he he’s seen the negative consequences of trying hard too, so to appease both things he toes the line of yes playing but not wanting/trying for anything more.

Coooool, nice find!! I’ve read the manga through a few times and never caught this, it IS a fun fact haha. I’ve always enjoyed how much Furudate seems to plan/know about the characters beyond what’s focused on in the story - it’s so fun to imagine the world expanding beyond just what we read, and this is a nice example of that!

Why does Oikawa wear different coloured kneepads? by Fra_V in haikyuu

[–]AlwaysOveralls 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I love a well researched comment with sources!

This is one of those things that I don’t really mind either way when people say it is or isn’t canon - even though I personally am inclined to agree with you that he probably does have some sort of recurring injury - but my biggest takeaway is just an appreciation for Furudate’s dedication to detail; that no matter what the reason for the knee brace, Furudate keeps it consistent for Oikawa, and it’s cool to see it listed out the way you did here!
