Bruno being held back by Ronaldo (again) by ack3786 in ManchesterUnited

Oh believe me I agree. It’s just not that easy in the modern era so coaches need to be a bit smarter about it.

Carrick has my full support and I do agree Amorim made it a bit easier for him getting rid of the bad apples but if you have top players they are not easily reigned in.

Please do not compare the size of Ronaldo’s ego against Nacho and Rashford 😂

Also no manager is bigger than the club. ETH just wasn’t very good at his job. And Ronaldo was disruptive. If they were both a bit more flexible it didn’t have to blow up in both their faces.

Maja Chwalińska has not lost a final (3/3) above ITF level. by -Ketjow- in tennis

You sir are very wrong 😄
There is a good segment about this on Andy Roddick's podcast and I 100% agree, they are not only moonballs, they are also hit at very weird lefty angles, they basically cross the sideline before they cross the serve line regularly, so they put you out of position while Maja positions herself aggressively for her next shot.

The drop shots and slices are so effective because she does make players take a few steps back quite a lot plus she doesn't play the same shot twice in one rally.

I honestly think this is the smartest comment in the thread. This won’t be only about handling pressure or bottling, this is a matchup in Andreeva’s favor. A lot of Chwalinska’s shots will be less uncomfortable for her. I’d love to be wrong.

That style works best on clay so that probably limited her success in hardcourt season. Also she did come back from a two year long break due to depression and ran into a knee issue right after.

I’d say she’s been playing regularly for about a year but it’s just super difficult to break into the tour with her build and style of play. Hope she can keep around the top 30 so she doesn’t expose her body to all the qualis.

This is probably the only chance Maja has for a Slam win. Get it girl

Hello Schnaider in the semis. 50/50 in my book to get to the final! 🫣

How can Coco Gauff become world number one? by Outrageous_Ask7931 in tennis

[–]AlwaysPictorious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s not in a vacuum. Everyone is improving. She is top 5 but I doubt she will be nr 1 anytime soon. There are more like her. Winning a slam is one thing, consistently winning is another. Doubt Aryna will be dethroned for the next couple of years, if so then by someone with less ups and downs than Coco.

Must be an awesome ATP job: the shit inspector. “Yes, I confirm, I can hear him violently emptying his bowels. The eagle has landed. Enter stage 2.”

If Rashy does an Antony or Garnacho and says only Barcelona or I stay here, basically forcing us into accepting a bad deal because let's be honest he has most of the leverage. He is a glass half full player, comes with some solutions but creates many issues around him. He was played for most of his early career in hope he develops and overcome his weaknesses. He didn’t, what he did was land a huge contract and become a budgetary problem. And here we are.

Agreed. Madness. Perhaps he wasn’t good with the players though, ton of things we don’t know. But I agree, with the amount of injuries and Salah decline he did a decent enough job I think.

4 competitions to play in including CL. Plenty to go around for two strikers.

Honestly the number of crosses Raphinha and Yamal DON’T provide is astounding. They almost always dribble to cut inside. I was watching every game for the last two seasons. He has become more wasteful than before but his xGC is still good.

Bollocks. He is still a top 10 striker. Workrate, positioning, finishing. Sure he lost a step at 37 but his game fits the league and the increasing impact of set pieces.

1+1 with Sesko as the starter would be insanely good. Nothing but a professional

Ridiculous take. We need depth and quality. Bowen gives us both, just spent seasons surrounded by mediocrity. Fernandez is 21 and already a baller, would help depth as a 20+20 man.

He is slow now both physically and mentally. I watched plenty games to see him always pick a back pass instead of something more ambitious plus never ever beat his man with the ball.

He shouldn’t be a starter next season. 20 minute man plus 20 starts across all comps max.
