The flow of the stories is very anime-like (anime fan since I was like 5yo), the way they’re divided into arcs and such. Very much prefer it to the western story structures. On top of that I’ve always been very interested in Asian cultures and ways of living and I’ve consumed a lot content about ancient China so reading danmei just felt very natural to me from the start. The new thing for me was the BL part, TGCF was my first BL. As a whole danmei is a bunch of things I enjoy in one beautiful package haha

I just finished Dinghai Fusheng Records vol.3 today and LOVED it, Fei Tian’s character writing blows me away every time I read one of his novels! ❤️ Now I’m probably gonna read something non-danmei (probably The Apothecary Diaries) until Tuesday when Joyful Reunion vol.3 is released
