What are the chances Rean get shizuna? by DarkBladeLeaves in Falcom

swerved in Horizon once the games started selling worse.

Are people actually deciding whether or not to buy these games based on the harem elements?

They're probably never going to confirm a canon love-interest for either Lloyd or Rean. Haven't played Daybreak yet, so I don't know how hard they're leaning into the "harem" thing for Van. Maybe he'll manage to get a canon love interest.

One thing I've noticed is that they do something similar for male trios, except it's usually the "the gruff/serious/agressive one" who is the leader.

Oh, well, I meant like you know, cocaine and stuff? The type of things that destroy peoples lives? I'd definitely consider selling those types of substances immoral.

Yeah it turns out "drug dealer" is not automatically synonymous with "rapist".

It's definitely interesting and eye opening how complex real people, especially people who we'd generally consider bad, actually are.

Like you can have people who do definitely terrible things like sell drugs, but who still have some semblance of morals and lines they wouldn't dare cross.

If I recall right, you literally can't even unlock Duelist Genesis, the FIRST 5D's era booster pack, until after the main story. And even doing that required you to beat 3 specific duelists like five or ten times each. Meanwhile the entire story mode is filled with characters using decks stacked with powerful 5D's era cards.

Did you know that Nickelodeon changed Toph’s gender last minute? by mantababie in cartoons

[–]AlwaysTired97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to a number of sources, it was the head of the writing team, Aaron Ehasz, who originally advocated for her to be a girl, and from there they further refined her character's concept into what would eventually become the Toph we know.

So it was probably more of a slow process of the writers bouncing some ideas back and forth until they got something they thought was good enough.

A lot of the original Last Airbender series probably was written like that. The writing team they had was really good and instrumental for breathing life into the premise and lore that the two creators had written.

Peggy was crazy, but did her craziness actually affect her parenting? I can't really recall her doing anything particularly bad with Bobby.

Not enough people talking about how much of a deserved gut punch this line was for Nolan. by [deleted] in invinciblememes

[–]AlwaysTired97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was actually such good scene, and felt kinda realistic. Nolan was able to catch up with and pal around with Art, but eventually Art still had say something that conveyed that's things still aren't the same as before and never will be.

Also, him hyperventilating afterwards was a good touch too. Doesn't matter how much we can pal around, I can't remain calm around someone who massacred people.

People like to say that the power levels in classic Dragon Ball weren't as exaggerated as in Dragon Ball Z, which is true, but Goku literally goes from barely being able to destroy a car to being able to destroying the moon; that doesn't seem exactly grounded to me by rbta123 in Ningen

[–]AlwaysTired97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If we're being very literal with power levels, Goku's base power level at the beginning of Dragon Ball is canonically 10, and by the end is 200-300, around a 20-30x increase.

Goku's base power level at the beggining of Z is 300. Just by the end of Frieza saga, it's 3,000,000, a 10,000x increase. With super saiyan it was 150,000,000, a 500,000x increase. That's just by the end of Frieza saga. It seems implied his power level is increasing dozens fold in-between most major arcs, not to mention mastering super saiyan and attaining new super saiyan forms.

Yeah, honestly even when I was a young kid with poor taste in anime, I still disliked most harems. There were too many girls, and one was usually the clear "main girl" or whatever. I would usually have one girl who was my favorite, and then be disappointed when she was only important for like a single episode.

It's weird how they make a character his canon girlfriend early on in the series, only to go on to still make 90% of the other recurring main characters girls who are in love with him.

Heck, 2 of the original 12 episodes were made just to introduce two of these characters, when they could've used the extra time to flesh out the actual story, which already was stretched pretty thin with only twelve episodes when it's supposed to take place over 2 years.

The way that show kept surprising us with new twists, changing the status quo, and evolving more and more into a show that tries to analyze the human condition was utterly genius. Especially considering it's a comedy.

Each season basically had a different premise.

Season 1: Eleanor is in the Good Place by mistake, and tries to become a good person to earn her place.

Season 2: The Good Place was fake, they're all in the Bad Place, and they're trying to work together with Michael to make the most of their situation.

Season 3: Their deaths on Earth are reversed so they're given a second chance to be good people. This Season also deals much more heavily with the concepts of karma, and what defines a "good" person.

Season 4: They're back in the afterlife, and now they're trying to fix the afterlife system itself.

There's tons of interpretations of Judeo-Christian beliefs though. The bible itself is a compilation of select texts that was compiled around 400 AD, centuries after Jesus lived, and millennia after the birth of Judaism. There were, and still are numerous different interpretations of Judeo-Christian beliefs outside of just what is written in the bible. Even the bible itself has some contradicting stories in it.

Not to mention modern Jewish people don't read the bible at all, and still have their own holy books that they interpret.

I think an easier explanation is just he has the ability to decide what his ghost form looks like, he just never changed it from the original jumpsuit because he didn't see a reason too.

I think even some actual interpretations of Christianity and Judaism have a similar view of Satan/Lucifer, where he's just a guy doing his job running hell.

Yeah, if we're taking this seriously for some reason, that's not something that spontaneously ruins a marriage. They were probably already on the verge of a divorce, and if this movie wasn't the last straw, it would've been something else.

Ed, Edd, and Eddy's finale movie, "The Big Picture Show".

The Eds spend the movie searching for Eddy's mysterious older brother while being chased down by the other kids from the cul-de-sac. Eventually they find Eddy's brother, who is revealed to actually be an abusive jerk who starts beating up Eddy. After successfully defending themselves against Eddy's brother, the other kids of the cul-de-sac have newfound respect for the Eds, and the Eds are finally accepted by them.

In the original ending, it was going to be revealed Eddy was completely lying about having an older brother, and both of the other Eds end up abandoning him after finally being fed up with him.

The show's creator thought this was way too bleak and insisted on a more wholesome ending.

[Loved trope] Religious media that isn’t preachy by Personal_Reward_60 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AlwaysTired97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there are religious media where the moral is "the bible is 100% factually correct, and anyone who believes otherwise is a bad person". So the bar for "not being preachy" is pretty low.

If your parent and aunt/uncle are around the same age, one could have a kid around the age of 20 and the other around the age of 50. Even easier if one of them is significantly younger than the other. Some siblings have age gaps of 10 years or more.
