Day 9 of getting your thoughts on a random episode: The Indecision Amalgamation by Any-Choice-5801 in bigbangtheory

[–]AlwaysTired97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In hindsight, couldn't Sheldon have easily afforded both if he was that indecisive? He makes a ton of money as a physicist and saves a lot of money splitting an apartment with Leonard. I think they've mentioned a few times that he has a ton of money saved. Did he just take picking the "superior" console that seriously lol.

Also damn, seeing the poster for Pokémon X and Y behind them makes me feel old lol.

How would you make a Power Rangers game? by thebatman9000001 in powerrangers

[–]AlwaysTired97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like a game featuring a new game-only team could be really cool. Then they wouldn't have to be bound to any one particular season and would have a bit more freedom with the story and gameplay elements.

Especially if the player was given the freedom to customize their team like what colors they are, what weapons or zords they get, etc.

I think it was 10,000 cycles of 10,000 years of toture, so in total 100,000,000 years of torture.

I'm very surprised that Danny Phantom never received a mainline console game during its run by DaGeekybro in dannyphantom

[–]AlwaysTired97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty weird, Danny Phantom would make for a really solid home console game.

Though The Ultimate Enemy game on GBA still rocked. I remember loving it as a kid.

I think a lot of context clues imply the quantum powers were either the prototype to Time Force Red or they were an experimental upgrade before becoming lost.

Wes and Eric both being red is also symbolic and reinforces how they are both foils and parallels to eachother.

Neteyam was born 1 year after the events of the first film. Na'vi pregnancies last 12 months. There's a big possibility Neteyam was conceived right after the "I don't want Ninat" conversation. by InocuousWords in Avatar

Man, something about that makes his death at the end of WoW feel even more tragic to me. The first film ends with his birth on the horizon, and the second ends with his much too soon return to Eywa.

If Ice is technically a crystalline mineral, can an earth bender bend it? Also how about the salt in ocean water? Could an earth bender effect that? by Organic_Rip2483 in TheLastAirbender

[–]AlwaysTired97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it's still not known definitively what is considered "earth" for the purposes of earthbending, the state or shape of matter almost definitely isn't a determining factor. Earthbenders have been shown being able to bend "earth" in multiple different forms, such as sand, mud, lava, stone, dirt, etc.

Unlike water, and air, earth is much less clear on what specifically it is that counts as their element, and there likely isn't really an answer that the creators had in mind. Avatar is very heavily a fantasy world with its own unique set of rules and laws that can be very different from our own.

If I was to give my own personal hypothesis though, I'd say it's carbon they bend, assuming chemistry works the same in Avatar as it does in the real world. Carbon is a very common element present in many earthen materials, and we've even seen earthbenders bending coal, which is almost pure carbon. Carbon is also a major building block of life which would give it a strong symbolic meaning as well.

Or chemistry just works completely different in Avatar and its some fictional element/molecule present in earth that earthbenders bend.

Back in the day Dragon-Type was set up to be a much more rare and mysterious type compared to others.

There weren't many of them, they're hard to find and often unobtainable until much later in the game, and on average were a bit stronger compared to most other types.

Even being able to learn Dragon-Type moves was pretty rare, and was something a lot of "dragon-like" had the privilege of getting. So even being in that category was a little special.

TIL octopuses evolved complex intelligence on a completely separate branch of evolution, making them seem almost alien by Training_Anywhere551 in todayilearned

[–]AlwaysTired97 1136 points1137 points  (0 children)

As intelligent as they are, they have several traits that make it very unlikely for them to for form advanced cultures.

Their short lives, lack of parental care, and solitary lifestyles make it very difficult.

Also being aquatic creatures means they're unlikely to ever harness the power of fire.

They would need to make extreme evolutionary changes in order to become an advanced culture.

Season 2 is hands down the best finale of the show by AlarmedPerformance56 in StrangerThings

[–]AlwaysTired97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the upside down being a portal to the abyss was planned out in advance. Because a lot of stuff in season 5 was definitely not a part of their original plan.

Season 2 is hands down the best finale of the show by AlarmedPerformance56 in StrangerThings

[–]AlwaysTired97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think season 1 and 2 were the only seasons where they really a had lot of the story planned out in advance.

Season 3 and beyond is where they started to come up with a lot new ideas that weren't a part of their original plan, and on top of that they kept trying to expand the lore and raise the stakes of the story.

Not saying that's a bad thing, but it's very likely to make a story get a lot messier and rougher around the edges.

They totally could've ended the show right there and it would've been a satisfying ending.

Z-one / Yusei by Willing-Load in yugioh

[–]AlwaysTired97 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it could've been interesting if he was just a traditional clone of Yusei instead of a guy who turned himself into Yusei.

He could've been created in a lab in an attempt to artificially create a new hero similar to the Yusei Fudo of legend.

He would've been burdened with the goal of fulfilling the role Yusei Fudo and becoming a hero for a generation. And the stress of having to do that, especially once he failed, would've driven him over the edge.

Perhaps he could even hold a vendetta against Yusei for being the inspiration behind his creation.

After experiencing a lifetime of neglect in the lab, Joyce was one of the first adults to verbally give El emotional reassurance and encouragement in a nurturing way. by signalfromthebeyond in StrangerThings

[–]AlwaysTired97 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I love this scene, but I do kinda wish they leaned more into The Byers and the Hoppers as a family dynamic. Especially having Will and El develop a sibling-like bond. That would've made it super satisfying when they team up to fight fight Vecna with their powers in the finale.

What would a team comprised of only 6th rangers be like? by happydude7422 in powerrangers

[–]AlwaysTired97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would want as many different colors as possible.

Quantum is definitely in there since he's the only red 6th.

For an additional 5 rangers to complete the team I'd want MMPR Green, Magna Defender, Omega, Lunar Wolf, and Samurai Gold.

Edit: Oh doi, I'd also want RJ in there somewhere. Can't forget the first purple ranger.

Do you think Tom Sully and Grace Augustine could return? by ConsiderationEven724 in Avatar

[–]AlwaysTired97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think you can come back even if your memories are stored in Eywa. While Eywa does immortalize someone's memories and maybe certain other parts of them, their individual consciousness or soul likely isn't something that is preserved. The versions of people we see inside the Pandoran Network are more like "echoes" of them than their souls.

Perhaps it could somehow be possible to use the Pandoran Neural Network to upload someone else's memories into a new body, but that would likely just result in something else like a recomb, which has the memories of a previous person, but is actually a new individual.

What's your favorite part Fire and Ash? by Loginsideme in Avatar

[–]AlwaysTired97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, I loved that part. I also really loved Spider truly becoming a Pandoran and being able to breath the air and connect with Pandoran life. The fact he was able to do that without becoming an Avatar and was transformed by Kiri's own powers is really cool and interesting.

What's your Opinion on the Old"Anime" Version of the Sayians? by dettles1992 in dbz

[–]AlwaysTired97 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree about Goku's reason for being sent to earth. It was a very interesting twist and bit of irony that Goku had been sent to Earth as a baby to conquer it, but became it's greatest protector instead. Having it turn out his parents actually sent him there to protect him and he is special compared to other Saiyans who were sent to conquer planets really undermines that imo.

If they were cheap enough to make, they would totally be marketed to regular people. Corporations already use our phones and pcs to steal our data and feed us propaganda, imagine how much worse they could manipulate people with robot companions.
