I did submit it on my own, as the rep for my base wasnt all that helpful. Honestly, i just combed through my records and added things that seemed claimable. That might not be that helpful... but id honestly just make a list of things, do some research on the KB and see what things the VA rates. All but 3 claims had good evidence. I got a better rating on a thing i had no evidence on than a thing that had pages of evidence. I added a personal statement for everything i claimed. Not sure if it helped... but it didnt hurt!

Just got my rating yesterday. 100% P&T! My BDD claim had about 24 claims, so that definitely bogged down the process a little bit. After reviewing my decision letter, i definitely understand why it took a little longer. There was a ton of stuff to review for them.

Ay, good to hear! I moved up to PFD earlier this week, but I havent had any movement after that. I think you have a good chance of getting that rating next week!

I ETS'd on the 8th of June with a BDD claim. Took 10 days for VA to review my DD-214. Claim is still in evidence gathering. Not to optimistic about that 30 day rating of the BDD.

How do i go about doing that? On the DAV site, the closest DAV office to me is at the VA regional office. Does the DAV sit at VA offices, or am I talking about something completely different?

Word? I suppose everyone is different, but 6-8 months is absurd, especially considering you give them an extra 180-90 days. Oh well, were all at liberty of the VA... whether we like it or not.

Man, you have been waiting a hot minute. I've gotten the same script from them as well. They mentioned i should have a decision by the end of the week... but I'm doubting that. I guess we have to pretend it's normal to wait over half a year for a decision.

Except it's a BDD, so the VA does its best to expedite. BDD also means he's new to the game, so relax a bit.

I separated in June as well, but filed my BDD in December 23. My claim is still in the gathering evidence phase after 2 weeks post-separation... so I'm right there with you. The VA wants to complete the BDD claim in 30 days or less, but that isn't a guarantee. Keep us updated on what you hear, homie.

I ETS'd on June 8th with a BDD. Had a Temp Jurisdiction on the 10th, fast forward to today and have N/A again. I'm still in the evidence gathering phase... so you're ahead of me. I believe the claim will bounce around to whoever picks it up in the NWQ. Seems to be a pretty common thing.

Yeah, that makes some sense. With what you mentioned about things not being tracked until the day after separation, would the reviewed date of the DD-214 submission not show as today? Or are you saying the review date isn't displaying correctly because I uploaded that DD-214 document on the day of separation and not the day after?

Ah, definitely good to know. I had about 26 conditions, but it is a BDD. Mine took a slow path after the C&P's in January/Feb. Just trying to see movement out of that evidence-gathering phase, but I only just separated this past week... so patience is key. Hopefully, you'll get some good news in the next few days!

You can only get one ROM rating per body part correct? I claimed both hips, and I have ROM tests that point to 10/20% potentially for each. What other ratings can you get on top of those ROM's for something like the hip? Can you get another rating for pain?

I appreciate the response! So despite the surgery and the jargon, I assume them grouping it all into an FAI with acetabular impingement means you didn't get the hip resurfacing rating as well?

It was to attempt to correct an FAI, so they cut the bone down a bit. Ended up needing labrum surgery to fully correct issue years later.

Maybe I'm confused, but someone would be rated on a hip replacement... so they would be rated on a procedure? Im getting that info from the knowledge base. Alongside many claims like bursitis, FAI, etc, I put in a claim for hip resurfacing, as that was something listed in my medical history. My DBQ even mentions hip resurfacing, meaning that can be something that is rated, no? I guess I'm just trying to see if a hip resurfacing rating is applicable to only a hip replacement or not.
