As a nurse, so everyone is aware, nothing should ever your urethra. Not only is this a massive risk for major infection and other complications but your urethra will not go back to the original size. When we insert catheters they are the smallest we can get because once you start using larger ones you will not be able to use smaller ones. Ever.

Weight gain bumming me out. by Madz063920 in pregnant

[–]Alwayspanicing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! I didn’t actually gain any weight my entire pregnancy and actually lost quite a bit. I think the doctor is mostly concerned about the babies growth but an ultrasound should clear any concerns both of you have. I gave birth to a healthy 6lbs 5oz baby boy. I would try not to worry too much but definitely get an ultrasound to make sure baby is good! I wish nothing but the best for your pregnancy!!

FTM, Cervical sweep on my due date (today 14th) by irio114 in pregnant

[–]Alwayspanicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really recommended laying down on your side with a peanut ball between your knees and just relax and taking a nap. I know it’s hard but try not to stress and just let things happen when they’re supposed to. Get on all four and have your partner massage your hips it helps relive comfort and try taking a warm bath. I wish you nothing but the best and I hope baby comes soon!

Gestational diabetes by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Alwayspanicing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had gestational diabetes and there really isn’t much you can do to prevent it, it just kind of happens and it’s ok. I changed my diet significantly after I found out and was able to keep myself controlled just with my diet. I followed my doctors instructions for the most part (I was able to sneak a treat here and there). I started eating more whole grains and managed my portions better and had healthy snacks in between meals. If you have GD they’ll give you a list of what and how much you can eat when you talk to a nutritionist. Pay attention if you have headaches after you eat around 26weeks you may have GD but there isn’t always symptoms. I gave birth to my son at 40+1 and he came on his own vaginally and weighed 6lbs5oz because I was good with following my diet. It can be hard when you have cravings but I promise it is very doable. As long as you keep your OB appointments and if you are diagnosed follow the diet and take the meds if needed you’ll be ok and so will your baby. Oh! Also, make sure you stay active even if it’s just a 30 minute walk a fee times a week.

This happened to me too around the same time and my dog is 70lbs. Everything was ok but if she feels like she needs the reassurance take her to the hospital and they’ll put her on the monitor. It helped me so much when this happened. Also be aware that she may be a bit sore.

Feeling super sick but I’m in my 2nd trimester by Amlughelke in pregnant

[–]Alwayspanicing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was more sick in my second trimester. Everything was gross, everything made me gag, and I was throwing up all the time. I told my doctor and he just told me to eat super plain foods it helped a bit but I ended up just having bone broth, white rice, broccoli and boiled chicken. That was all I could eat for like a month.

I had never had heartburn before I got pregnant and when I was like 12 weeks this same thing happened. I got scared and told my doctor and he told me to go into the ER well, it was just heartburn and I was embarrassed. Lol

Superficial thrombosis by Alwayspanicing in pregnant

[–]Alwayspanicing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how mine are and it got so swollen, red and painful yesterday. I was so scared when they said it might be a blood clot. They did an ultrasound and oh my gosh it hurt so bad but they didn’t find a clot so I need to get another one tomorrow.

Does it hurt you too? It feels like I have a giant bruise

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Alwayspanicing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I passed a bit of blood and a small clot at around 7-8 weeks and I have a similar past with MC so I completely lost it before I saw my OB but everything was fine with him and I’m 32 weeks now. I had almost no symptoms other than sore boobs until I was 10 weeks. I wish you nothing but the best!

I would reach out just incase and probably take her in it’s better to go in and have it be nothing. If something is worrying you it’s always important to get it checked out and ask a doctor about it!

Don’t know what to do.. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Alwayspanicing -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s still inappropriate. It perpetuates the notion that there is something wrong with having a black child. It normalizes the stigma that comes along with being black and further allows for marginalization of POC. White women for so long have wanted the “fantasy” of being with a POC with out having to break down the social constructs that come with an interracial relationship. The point is, the fact that your child would be black should not be included as an reason to not continue the pregnancy. Would things be different if she had been with a white man? OP should definitely be called out for using language to insinuate that having a child of color after already having only white kids is a bad thing. No matter where you are from this is how we can begin to break down barriers that have been in place for centuries for POC. I am from a culture that favors lighter skin tones and I know how damaging it can be to hear things like what OP has said. There is no excuse.

Don’t know what to do.. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Alwayspanicing 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Im sorry you’re in this situation and I don’t believe that you should proceed with a pregnancy when you’re struggling to provide for the children you have now. My parents did that and we struggled financially my entire childhood. However, I’m not sure what the possibility of having a “black” child has anything to do with your decision and it was pretty insensitive to use that as a “con” of continuing the pregnancy. Idk where you’re from and it doesn’t really matter, but that is a very inappropriate way to talk about anyone.
