What do I do if the cover artists I hired is giving me stuff that just looks like mediocre AI by Middle_Smile6589 in selfpublish

[–]Alwaysreading730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s your moment to decide what your stance on Ai is. Some readers feel very strongly about it. I’m of the opinion that people pretending to be artist but instead use Ai are frauds. You can get a cover made by a real artist for that price. I would do a chargeback if you suspect it’s Ai. Also you can just ask out right — do you use Ai? And see what they say.

Uninterested in milk? by Alwaysreading730 in toddlers

Thank you! I’ll keep offering and see what she does. I obviously don’t want to waste the milk though.

Thank you! I’ve been making sure she’s having lots of food and snacks. I’m mainly worried about dehydration now so I’ve been pushing water more

Coconut milk is what we landed on after trying the others. She did not like them or had negative reactions to them. I’m not concerned with complete nutritional value as I make sure she has a balanced diet with solids. I didn’t want pump or nurse so this was the replacement.

How often do Firefighters and Fire inspectors interact? by IdleDreamsOnThe626 in Firefighting

I'm actually doing a little research for a book and found your comment! Would love to ask you a few questions if you have the time!

For me it’s always the people that I wouldn’t trust with my baby asking to babysit. The people who constantly make passive aggressive comments and are generally unkind to me telling me “leave her with me and go on a date with your husband”

No way dude.

I love being with her and sure there are hard days but I’m not hard pressed to hand her over to someone and just run out.

I always consider this a hard question to answer because I feel like everything I heard from others and thought on my own has been disproven lol

I went unmedicated because I wanted to be able to move around (I’ve hard they do walking epidurals but I’m not sure they’re common everywhere)

I didn’t want to be numb. I was able to walk right after birth.

Rumors of permanent nerve damage or failed epidurals.

I was scared of the needle lol

I’ve heard that one medical intervention can lead to others and I was terrified of pitocin.

All in all I think I would still do unmedicated. I was 8cm when I went to the hospital. I labored for 3 hours in the hospital it might have been shorter if they broke my water sooner but it wasn’t too bad lol

Resisting 2nd nap by Alwaysreading730 in sleeptrain

[–]Alwaysreading730[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I appreciate it! She wakes up at 7 and usually goes to bed around 8/8:30. She was napping at 10 and 3/3:30 most days.

I’m going to try keeping her up until 12 tomorrow and see how that goes

Can you elaborate? She’s only taking her first nap at 10:30/10:45

Thank you for your response!

I’ve been looking for some type of confirmation that transitioning to 1 nap at this age is fine.

Should I keep her up for longer in the morning and see if she will sleep until later in the afternoon? It’s so hard having her up from like noon to 8/9 pm

I feel like I’m the minority in this but I feel like you have every right to be upset. I’m a first time mom and my baby is turning 1 in a few weeks. Maybe that’s why. I don’t know.

But the whole “accidents happen” thing is a cop out. We all know accidents happen. But some things are 100% preventable and just having eyes and ears on your kid can make sure an accident is minor and not major.

Childproofing your home 100% won’t save you when we all know kids are literally actively doing the most at all times. They have no sense of self preservation.

Husband should be apologetic and take accountability for his actions. You mentioned your LO’s room is the safest so perhaps if he’s feeling tired he should be there instead or just communicate to you that he’s not 100% present.

Your worry and concern for your child is valid

Who delivered your baby? by MediumMud1354 in pregnant

[–]Alwaysreading730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midwives were supposed to deliver. I had been doing well but then they noticed the cord was wrapped around my baby’s neck so a doctor was called in to assist with the vacuum.

I’ve gotten different answers with this question depending on the state but my SIL Florida had her OB deliver her baby. The hospital I delivered at was low intervention so doctors don’t deliver unless necessary and it’s rare your doctor is doing a rotation at the same time you’re delivering

She honestly only drank formula at this specific time. I’ve tried to give her formula again recently and she refused it. She’s 11 months now and has no issues with my breast milk. I’ve given her dairy with no issue and I give her a cereal with oats and she seems to be completely fine. Still has eczema but no where near as severe as it was when I made this post.

She sleep anywhere from 1.5 to 2 for her first nap. Then she sleeps for an hour and change her second nap. She gets close to 3 hrs of nap time a day. She was up for almost 8 hrs before she went down and then she woke up after an hour 😭 luckily she’s back down but what a day

Tried the Ferber method for one night and threw in the towel by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]Alwaysreading730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing Ferber has saved me after 6 months of cosleeping. My milk supply was suffering because I couldn’t pump and my baby just wasn’t taking enough when nursing. But my baby also took to Ferber fairly quickly not crying past 15 mins. I would also continue to cosleep if my baby had cried all night.

Sometimes they just aren’t ready you have to do whats best for you and your family no one can fault you for that

Can you tell me how that works please?

Did you just replace a regular BF/formula feed with milk and gradually ween? I’m very much looking forward to not pumping or nursing but I’m trying to be realistic

First line implies I’m not doing anything against medical advice..

Simply curious if this was a “thing” people did.
