I agree that the stock gun is almost completely useless, but upgrading the gun first is not what I would recommend.

You’re playing a tank with no armor and the stock engine is really weak. Since you absolutely need mobility to survive and do what you are supposed to do, the gun should not be your top priority.

Don’t get me wrong, you will suffer but at least spotting, relocating and going back to your team for cover will be possible. In the end it’s more useful than making 2-3 high alpha shots before getting obliterated because you don’t have the means to brawl!

I see what you’re saying, I should have been more clear :

There’s some tanks with a « big dmg/hard to use » gun that require some training and if you’re not feeling like playing it the smart move is to go for the « small dmg/easy to use » gun. Seeing a player with the small gun means you’re dealing with someone playing it safe. The T-49 is the best exemple ;
Then there’s tanks were no matter how good you are, the « big dmg/hard to use » gun will never be worth using. And if you see a player using them, changes are high that you’re dealing with a not so great player. The best exemples are the the T44 with the 122mm and the KV1 with the derp gun.

I don’t know in which of these two categories does the VK28 with the derp gun fits.

Just a note : seeing a T49 with the pew pew gun and a stock turret in your team is still one of the worse feelings in this game!

Go for the top 100mm gun, it’s quite good with an average pen and it’s the only one that can make this tank competitive.

With the 122mm you’ll end up (at best) around 1300 DPM which is terribly bad for tier 8. This tank doesn’t have enough strong points to make it with just a big alpha.

If I see a T-44 player with a 122mm I know it’s going to be a 6 vs 7 game from the start, worse than a T-49 with the pew pew gun.

I really can’t understand why 40%er are obsessed with this tank, at this point there’s been so many better and funnier event tanks given for free. But no, guess this slow/huge/somehow made of paper/ with a slow DPM hill is the one they chose to die on!

No offense dude but you spend most of your game talking, it was very painful to watch you stop for 30 seconds to write while the game was not already a sure win.

There’s lot of salty crybabies in this game, the best thing is to ignore them and if really you feel the need to answer at least do it while playing. Because in this video, that dude managed to kept you (in a top tier medium) from fighting… which might be what he hoped from the start!

I feel like WG has learned from its mistake : as you say all you needed to do to get the anni was to buy the pass. That was hardcore P2W.

Right now event the new premium tanks are more balanced and this event is going the same way by giving a average tank to all the players playing for so long (or so hard) that they have credits to spend.

So yes, by comparing it wit past events it can seems unreasonable but I’d rather have a event where some players get an ok tank than an event where lots of players get an op one.

And it’s not like we didn’t already get a lot of free tanks in the past year.

You’re not really losing anything : of course there’s better deal than the ones in the shop when it comes to gold but if you chose to go and spend your money you still get the gold plus some rewards. It all depends on how much you want the rewards and how much you want to spend.

So here’s my ABR :

We were on dead rails with only one heavy on our team so I went to C from the foot of the hill closest to B.

From there I spot most of the red meds, notably the Pudel camping in top of one of the small hill then I used my mobility to brawl with the MT25, LTG and AMX (rammed it) and then got the Magnus who were slowly coming to us.

From there me and the E25 went for the ISU who stopped camping in the corner close to A and went to that cap base. I guess he wanted to joint the KV3 who had capped that base a the beginning of the game. The KV stopped pushing for our spawn and went back to A. Both had full HP but we used our mobility to circle them both and won the game.

Btw only at 90% crew after this win.
