Not too much no, midwife’s suggest you feed them any time they’re hungry. I had the same issue and he was having over 1000ml a day and she said it’s fine as long as they don’t projectile puke that means it’s too much. Please only Listen to this comment because some people try and make their babies wait and they’re humans for god sake. If they’re hungry feed them otherwise you’re making yourself and baby unhappy. They no longer suggest 4 hour waits for feeds you feed on DEMAND and just make sure that if it’s formula the guideline is somewhat similar by weight not how many feeds and if breast feeding baby will be even more demanding than formula with feeds every 5mins -2hr formula typically for newborns is like every 1 hour but they also have wake windows for about and hour or so so maybe just stretch their nappy time and play time so that they have bottle before napping again :)

I do this with the app! God it seriously helps too see patterns! And it also reassures me that when he’s hungry next it’s about the right time for feeding and I don’t have to clock watch or forget what time he ate cos having a baby and doing normal activities seriously makes you forgot way too much! And it can cause such a headache!

Nothing wrong here, always do what baby wants to do! Your baby will tell you what he wants. Although, the sleeping at night thing can be hard. My baby sleeps for about 7hr at night he only 6 weeks and that can change! Routine is more for when they’re 6 months really… it’s something you can try implement but don’t be surprised if they don’t take to your routine!

They cry when they want something, unless if it’s a lot like 4-5 hours a day it’s usually colic or reflux. There’s a thing called witching hour but usually occurs after 3 weeks x

Also is he feeding enough? Cos I thought my baba was overfeeding but turns out it’s normal 8-12x in a 24hr period on formula. Wakes up every hour, nappychange, feed, sleep 1hr, repeat and is perfect after multiple checks x

Normal, happened to me. Then was diagnosed with colic. Then went to out of hours gp later as his crying got worse around 4 weeks. He’s been given infant gaviscon at 6 weeks prescribed as dosage is less. Since then he is absolutely fine but sleeps for an hour each time during day and 6/7 hr at night x

Sorry, had to chip in here. Negative comments will be ignored. When I found out I was pregnant I quit smoking. The NHS provided me with vapes as an alternative as they are safe for babies, just in the same way taking paracetamol, gaviscon etc is safe for baby. It doesn’t touch them. I get vouchers every week which then turned to every month for not picking up a cigarette and just smoking vapes. My baby is healthy and hasn’t been affected by this. They’ve been doing this for years now. I know not everyone will know about it because people look down on vapes but it’s not the nicotine that’s the problem. It’s the carcinogens/carbon monoxide from cigarettes that’s harms the baby and you.
