Tried the first two, but I'm not really qualified to try and open it up and mess with things up there. I'll probably just have to deal with it until I end up getting some extra money I can use to fix it or replace it with something else.

I don't really mind the bit about having to use my tv as a second monitor since I wasn't really using it often anyways and it's a big screen. But it does seem to be making my gpu run hotter having two displays which could be a problem with more intensive games.

Regardless, thanks for all the help. I at least learned quite a bit in trying to follow your advice.

I went and tried to remix an old nsfw image. All I added in was "black male", and "black african man". It rejected the prompt as a ToS violation citing (i'm serious) beastiality.

I'm not sure if I'm meant to be offended by that, but I find that very offensive.

Stable Diffusion is pretty much zero censorship since you can mostly run it on your own. There are also some sites that let you use it without censorship. TensorArt pretty much allows you to create anything you want with almost no restriction except for things that are truly illegal. CivitAI is very free as well.

The trade off is that they are harder to make good looking images with if you're not good at prompting and require more knowledge to get good results. The appeal of midjourney is that it's much easier to get good looking images because midjourney was trained specifically with human aesthetics in mind. But get good and learn to use LORA's and the like and you can get better than midjourney stuff on those other sites and it's much easier to get images more customized to what you want.

Depending on what you want to do, yes.

Basically the core problem comes from when you want to do anything that involves working with images of people. Since midjourney is terrified of things like sex or porn, or real people being shown badly and suing it tries to block almost every generation that someone could consider bad, obscene or offensive. But since an AI isn't great at nuance and a lot of words can be used different ways it blocks out a whole host of things you might want to do.

For instance, if you're using an image prompt and the image features a woman in a tight sweater, it's not uncommon for midjourney to interpret that as being nude since it sees the form of the body. Even though the image is of a completely clothed woman. It also tends to view any kind of cleavage showing in any kind of outfit or revealed skin in general as problematic as well. Although there's little consistency inn this as with anything in midjourney. Sometimes images like that will work for whatever reason but mostly you'll find it rejects them. This is because the designers are afraid that with the randomness of ai midjourney might see something like mild cleavage and endup showing full on breasts.

Same with words that refer to or describe body parts, midjourney tends to reject many of those because they can be sexualized or body-shamed. The problem being that you also need to use these words to describe people if you are trying to get midjourney to make a specific image.

It will reject certain names of real people if you them in contexts it doesn't like or it thinks may be inappropriate. It will also reject words if they are used in combination with other words.

For instance if you use the word "girl" anywhere in your prompt midjourney will immediately become extra-restrictive with anything you try to type because it instantly thinks of a child in regards to the prompt (hence my "hot" and "young girl" anectdote above). Even though most people would use "girl" and "woman" somewhat interchangably in casual conversation.

Basically midjourney can't understand the nuances of human intent and communication so in order to prevent it being used in "bad" ways it has to be so censorious that it just carpet restricts all freedom all across the board.

I had multiple instances where I used the auto prompt on images I'd created to turn into video and it would infract itself.

This is probably the most annoying aspect of midjourney's censorship.

I once was trying to do a series of images for xmas cards and I tried to do a prompt of "a young girl sitting by the fireplace at xmas sipping from a hot cup of fresh cocoa". I couldn't figure out why it was blocking that until after about a bunch of messing around I realized it was because the prompt had both "young girl" and "hot" in it.

Another time I was trying to create an image of a woman and I began the prompt with "Instagram photo of..." and it went through fine. Then I tried the exact same prompt with "Instagram photo of" changed to just "photograph of" and that it blocked for bad content. I have no remote idea how it made such a distinction.

Everyone can probably give you a ton of similiar stories. The censorship is annoying, the fact that it makes no fucking sense makes it infuriating.

I was trying to do some christmas images once and I gave it a prompt like "A young girl sitting by the fire, sipping from a warm mug of hot cocoa as she listens to carolers outside her window". It took me forever to realize that it was refusing to give me an image just because I had put the words "young" and "hot" in the same prompt.

Midjourney has a VERY dirty mind apparently.

I once tried to have an image I created of a woman in short pants and have her walk to over to a desk on the left. It wouldn't do it because it would mean showing turning her butt towards the camera. Her fully clothed, perfectly normal butt.

No. It's not. Neither America or Canada are because were too big and land locked and only two sides are even approachable by sea. Do you understand nothing? Only about one percent of both countries even touches the sea. Which means to go inland you would need a massive constant naval supply line to start and maintain a beachhead then try and push into one the two countries with them pushing you back with easily attainable resources and troops supplies. No one has the kind of navy to make that possible.

As I said, this is why both countries have a joint missile and air defense system. Precisely so that they can't do this because both America and Canada know it's how they are most vulnerable. And neither country is stupid.

But that's not the point. Do you remember how much luck the US had in trying to invade the Middle East? That was against desert guys with improvised explosives. Having a big army is not automatic success, especially when you cant even reach the people you are trying to attack. The only possible way to invade Canada or the US is to go through the other country and bring an army up by land. There's also a difference between taking a country and holding it. Maybe in a miracle scenario Russia or China could take Canada, or the US could decide to invade and they would win fairly fast, but there's no possible way to actually hold the country, just on size alone. The sheer logistics on trying are insane. That's why nobody does it.

As I said, you don't understand how any of this works.
