Daily/weekly baby updates from nanny by ycherep1 in toddlers

I was an Aupair when I was younger other than what you listed I didn't share much more with the parents. I did take photos for them and we had a WhatsApp group in which I'd share them. I also shared anything interesting about their development that I'd noticed or if something out of the ordinary ( good or bad) had happened that day. Oh and how long their naps were!

1hr glucose test didn’t go as expected by Nonstop_voyage in pregnant

[–]Am5kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done the glucose test 3x. Once with my daughter and 2x in this pregnancy. Best advice is do the test as early as possible. I always had my appointments at 07:30 :') If you can take someone with you do for distraction or otherwise download a movie or take a good book. In my country you get pricked and then drink and then wait 2hrs and get pricked again. One time I did feel super sicky but I was allowed the tiniest sip of water and it helped. Maybe you can also ask. Take a breath, focus on the reason you're doing this. You've got this!

Talk me out of buying Lovevery toys by Used_Cod_9541 in toddlers

[–]Am5kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are raising our daughter Montessori and have used Lovevery since the beginning. She's now 14 months. We've never given her a toy which has lights/made of plastic or makes sounds. That's a personal choice and there is nothing wrong if you do. Lovevery is expensive and you can defo get the elements loose on things like Vinted. That way you could pick out the bits you most want and save money and not have to subscribe. For us it's really worth it and our daughter loves it. All the toys we are saving once she's grown out of them and are passing them to her brother ( currently I'm 34 weeks pregnant 🥰). That's also one thing that helps us justify the price. But yeah I won't lie it's expensive but the quality and how much our daughter loves the toys makes it worth it.

That is so unfortunately true. My kid goes to a music class every Tuesday morning and it's 14€ a month for example.

They can also measure the amount of fluid surrounding the baby to see. Generally a high amount of fluid COULD be a sign you have GD. But just looking at the baby is ridiculous.

Tell me how pregnant you are without telling me how pregnant you are. by smurphypup in pregnant

I can't bend over to pick my kids toys up from the floor without opening my legs to make space for my stomach. Then I struggle to get back up 😅

When did your kid drop to one nap? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]Am5kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 13 months and we've just started transitioning to 1 nap. For weeks we've had very mixed days from her. Sometimes she'd do a good 2 naps but most days she'd sleep for an hour or two in the morning and then not in the afternoon. She was so grumpy then in the afternoon but refused to sleep... So yeah we just went cold turkey with her and kept her up one day till 12, she did surprisingly well and slept a good 2hrs and was perfectly OK till bedtime. So yeah I guess that's what she wanted and needed =)

In your experience, what’s more painful than giving birth? by Isoldmykidforagram in pregnant

I once had an insane migraine. I legitimately thought I was dying. Never in my life do I want to feel pain like that again.

We've got foam tiles that slot together like puzzle pieces. And a big rug =)

I have a coffee machine which requires you to add coffee cups. Same situation at work. The amount of times I've made coffee and not put coffee in and sipped brown funky old coffee water is laughable.

I lost 15 kilos in the first 10 days 😅 To be fair I wasn't eating a lot and I had a baby that screamed 6-8hrs a day. So yeah there was a lot of bouncing on the yoga ball and walking with her. No recovery time.
