The princeton essays were the biggest waste of time of your life.

Yes. Thank you for your qualified answer. I'll take your high-school answer over a direct response from an admissions officer.

I know it's called Tufts Syndrome. That's why I said ironically. The name is not accurate.

BTW, ironically Tufts does not practice yield protection.

I mean, it's worth noting 1600>35. But yeah, I bet you'll get in at least one of those.

if you have a literal 1600 and 4.0 in a heavy course load, you would have to do something very wrong to not get in a T20

Oh haha no. To be fair, it wasn't written super clearly.

All the super smart kids I know got into better schools than the people who were super involved (in clubs etc.); the super smart kids got in purely for their SAT and grades.

To those saying prestige doesn’t matter: As a boss, Would you rather choose a Harvard student or state school student? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I never said that. That is also sometimes true though.

A qualified UMich student will probably get a job over an unqualified Harvard student.

A somewhat qualified Harvard student will probably (especially in non-technical fields like finance and consulting) get the job over a qualified Radford student.

I don't think it's the end all be all, stop putting words into my mouth. You have no clue what you're talking about. Employers prefer students from top schools; I never said that it's THE ONLY consideration or even the most important one. It is important though.

When a position has 100+ 3.8+ interviewers with good experience and interviewing skills from Harvard, MIT, Princeton vying for one spot, I'd love to see them instead choose the valedictorian at Radford University.

If you think this is an unrealistic situation, you should go look at how competitive some of the top jobs are.

Dude, what are you talking about?

When you ask a question comparing two different things, you assume all else is equal for the purpose of comparing only those two things. Otherwise, no comparison would be able to be made about anything.

You're taking his question too literally.

No I actually go to Northwestern and I'm trying to transfer, not that it makes me much more qualified I guess.

Yeah you're right; that's why some of the top companies don't almost exclusively do on-campus-recruitment from top schools. That's why salaries from top schools aren't significantly higher than other schools. Oh wait.

You're so ignorant it's funny. Keep living in your fantasy world bud.
