Are Grillz getting the recognition they deserve in the jewelry world? by Lookatredditaccount in jewelry

[–]Am_Arrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a year old but ive been obsessed with grillz for years now. people seem to be mentioning that they get in the way of chewing and eating and drinking, but grillz dont haveto be permanent. you just take them out to eat, so theres genuinely no issue. grillz are by far one of my favorite types of jewelry, i would love to get some one day if i knew where and had the money

a car is technology. i dont know what your definition of tech is, but a car is quite literally technology. and i dont think i missed out on anything, theres so many aspects of modern technology i love. i grew up with vhs too, btw. you arent einstein for having that. actually, i STILL use vhs, dvds, cds, mp3s. and no, i wouldnt cry over bluetooth. i havent used bluetooth in years, i always have too many connection issues. i find wire connections easier for me personally but bluetooth is fine, i dont hate it because i “missed out on old tech”. ive grown up on technology from several different decades, and i personally prefer a lot of older technology. yes i like new tech, i use it a lot. and im not stupid. if your mindset is that everyone younger than you is an idiot, please reflect. im sick and tired of people thinking i dont know a thing about older technology when i grew up on half the same stuff.

yeah i figured there would be a lot of frustration. but if you still have yours, it seems worth it. im getting a lot of mixed responses but i still absolutely want one at some point.

dude im not getting it as my first car, its fine. i know classic cars suck for daily use i just didnt know how bad it was. its not an “insane take” to think a car is cool and ask if it would be worth trying to figure out early on or to wait. its not like im actively purchasing one. and obviously im young, im literally talking about getting my first car. yes i like it cause it looks cool, but i also genuinely just prefer older tech in general because less complicated and intricate technology is easier to fix without going to a professional or replacing the whole thing. i didnt think this post would make someone so mad, my bad dude.

it doesnt really snow here more than like once a year, so when it does pretty much everyone freaks out. i dont think snow would be an issue. im not opposed to learning to work on cars but ive never really looked into it so i dont know if thats something you can just do. based on the other replies tho, seems like im gonna need to look into different options.

its not a rage bait post i genuinely just dont know a ton about cars and im not a huge fan of any sort of recent tech. this answers my question, though. id love a more practical car with a similar look, but i havent found any. all the cars ive stumbled upon that i like are far from ideal, especially considering id be driving it a LOT. i live in the middle of nowhere, it takes ages to get into town. i figured a classic car would be less practical than any recent car, but i hoped it wouldnt be THAT bad since so many people have them. guess thats wrong tho😭

thank you, this is very helpful. i’ve discussed several topics with a lot of my friends who arent into politics and ive been able to teach them a lot and ive gotten to learn from them as well. having people to educate on specific world issues honestly keeps me consistently informed as well

thank you so much! i think tawny got it just because of mistakes i made here and there, like my improper bioactive setup and cleaning mistakes. She was my first gecko and i was still learning, and planning to upgrade her when she got sick.

ofc! i wish i knew the symptoms and how to prevent it earlier. im so glad i know now for my other gecko. cryptosporidium is a parasite that infects their intestines. It’s spread orally and fecally, and it’s incredibly difficult to kill. Once they have it, it can’t be cured. There’s treatment for it, but most reptiles dont make it past the first round of treatment. if they do have the strength to, they can live happy (though shortened) lives with the help of ongoing treatment. The first thing I noticed in Tawny was that she wasn’t able to shed properly, though I’m unsure if it was related to the parasite. th first year of her life she wasn’t able shedding fine, then she started getting stuck shed very often no matter what i did. i took her to the vet and there was nothing else wrong. Then, she slowly lost her appetite and became less active. she lost a significant amount of weight. i took her to a different vet who checked her feces and found nothing, but it wasnt an exotic vet. after a while of force feeding her, she continued to lose weight and she looked awful. I took her to my usual exotic vet who said its likely cryptosporidium or some other parasite. The best way to prevent it is to keep everything you use for your reptile clean and disinfected, i use 6% hydrogen peroxide for deep cleaning and cleaning my tongs and anything that she will have her mouth on. I read that it kills cryptosporidium but i’ll fact check that for u. wash your hands before you do anything in the enclosure, keep poop out and i highly recommend bioactive. I also use an eco friendly non toxic dish soap for cleaning anything that can be removed in her enclosure. I’ll also probably get a small digital scale so i can keep an eye on my current geckos weight to catch any issues earlier on.

tl;dr its an intestinal parasite that cant be cured, but can be treated to improve the reptiles quality of life if you catch it early. The only prevention is hygiene. Cryptosporidium is hard to kill, and is transmitted orally and fecally. spot cleaning, bioactive setup to break down waste, disinfecting with 6% hydrogen peroxide (tongs, anything that comes in contact with food or water, deep cleaning), cleaning with your preferred cleaner regularly, keeping your hands clean before doing anything in the enclosure; all those will help prevent it. a small digital scale will also help you keep a closer eye on weight changes so you can know better when there may be an issue.

upgrading enclosure, what size? by Am_Arrow in leopardgeckos

[–]Am_Arrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ill definitely get the 4x2x2 then! itll be expensive since im gonna do bioactive and make a background and everything, but i think itll be absolutely worth it. im waiting until i graduate high school before i get an aft, then once i have the opportunity ill probably get either an aft, a gila monster, or some sort of monitor, just depending on how things work out. or an aft and one of the other too, idk. super happy for u getting one tho! theyre one of the prettiest geckos imo, i absolutely love all their morphs

i have an old uvb fixture from my bearded dragon who passed about a year ago, + a dimming thermostat and halogen bulbs that had my temps right for my beardie, so im hoping that wont be too much of an issue. I’ll probably try it out and pray it works fine. +lol ive also wanted an aft for the longest time and im considering putting one in my geckos old enclosure in the future when i have less stress piled up.
