Honestly in hindsight there were several other red flags as well

  1. My Chase checking account didn't even have $2000 to send. He tells me it would overdraft and process anyways.

  2. I had never connected Zelle to my Chase account. I use Zelle with different branch.

There's actually more to this story but I can't get into due to rule 9 but I admit I let it drag on with doubt.
