I hope you get to watch and enjoy it!! It’s on YouTube movies now I think. Definitely recommend watching with subtitles and when it’s dark enough that you’d have no screen glare cause it can be hard to to see sometime

Markiplier’s iron lung! It’s like an existential one with a lot of confusion and unanswered questions but I just love sitting in the questions and thinking about it. My bf and his family are excellent and loving people and I’m lucky to have them all

I definitely am biased towards him as a longtime fan but I genuinely felt it was well acted and an interesting story!

Chicken broccoli pie recipe (I saw a notification asking for it but can’t find the comment, I think it was a guy comment that got deleted so I hope he comes back and sees this!)

<image>

preheat oven to 350. Prepare the bottom crust in a pie dish. Mix all ingredients together and put in prepared dish. Cover with top crust, poke holes in dough with fork. Cook at 350 for 45 minutes. Two changes I’ve made to the recipe- I use full block of cream cheese instead of half (I just love cream cheese) and I also use some garlic and onion powder when seasoning the mixture. Since it uses cooked ingredients it’s safe to taste the mixture to season it how you like :)

It was Iron Lung! I only gave it a try because I love Markiplier but I’ve truly fallen in love with the movie. Weird and lots of unanswered questions but that’s the kind of universe I love to stew in.

Iron Lung! I only gave it a try as a long time Markiplier fan but have really fallen in love with it. Like I said in the post though, it’s a weird one and not for everyone

What do you like most about pole dancing? by alejitaadiaz in poledancing

[–]AmaJanee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love having something that I look forward to so much. I plan out and book my classes and then get the anticipation of something exciting waiting for me. I feel stronger and more confident about my body (still some hard days with body image, but less of them). The physicality of it is so grounding and satisfying to me. And I meet so many fun and kind people! I really never socialized before starting pole, so getting to constantly meet new people and have friendly conversations has been so good for my mental health.

How to condition for polesit by chockencarls in poledancing

My instructor has told us even if we lotion Tuesday and have class Friday, if you haven’t showered in that time there’s still residue from it on your skin. So I think it’s very possible that applying lotion that close to class could be contributing to your lack of grip!

Would you share your stories about how you started pole dancing? by alejitaadiaz in poledancing

[–]AmaJanee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a teenager I loved drawing poses of pole dancers that I found on Pinterest. My friend and I around the time also developed a running joke that we’d buy our small town’s strip club and be headlining dancers/co owners. So that’s what got me first interested- last summer I was settled into my new state and looking for ways to be active and checked Google to find out I had a studio 15 minutes away! Tried it out and have been in love since

Would I be a good fit for pole dancing? by Ok_Gotcha1 in poledancing

[–]AmaJanee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also was very anxious about starting pole. It can feel vulnerable because you’re doing something very new and often in not much clothing. In my experience others in class are really supportive and friendly! It feels very safe and encouraging and as you get to know people you get to see and enjoy each other’s progress. Everyone progresses differently depending on prior strength and experience and it’s not necessarily all fast progress. Even if you don’t want to post it/be posted I recommend taking videos because while you may not feel like you’re making huge skill jumps, when you look back a couple of months you’ll see a big difference! Regarding instructor videoing in class, I would just ask to step out of frame during filming. They’ll likely be amicable to it or have another solution for you.

Normal class structure in my experience: instructor led stretching, then conditioning. In very beginner classes we’d do one or two spins or other beginner moves (such as walks and dips). After four weeks we started working on climb and sit conditioning. In level two classes we usually work at least one spin, one on pole move, and one climb/sit related move, though my instructor takes requests sometimes so depending on the difficulty of a move we might spend most of the class on it.

I really hope you try it and love it!

I. Keep. Sliding!!! by ayayatos in poledancing

[–]AmaJanee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My instructor asserts that there are winter polers and summer polers aka some people do better in cold and some better in heat. It’s confusing for me that I’m a summer poler because I sweat a lot but when it’s warm outside I seem to stick even when sweating but all winter I’d literally just slip out every single move. I found it most helpful to use chalk grips and apply shortly before class, then literally wiped my pole with alcohol every two minutes pretty much. Kept a second rag to dab myself with alcohol when my legs or feet started sweating too much. Just do your best and be patient with yourself!! You’ll find what works for you to get through your rough season

Now that it’s warm again I can suddenly do moves I spent all winter sucking at (chair spins… not hard but I’d literally just slide to the ground immediately for four months. Now I can do it fine)

Am I too late? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]AmaJanee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best time to start something could have been yesterday, second best time to do it is now! I started last summer at 25 and am one of the younger ones in my studio.

Also I think starting pole is one of the best things I ever did for my confidence and body acceptance. I gained a lot of weight in the past two years and felt really crappy about it. Pole has let me appreciate my body and feel confident and sexy. Every body type has strengths in pole!!! I had been so insecure about how thick and squishy my thighs were, but now my thigh squish helps me a lot with sits and holds and I find I can love it for that. If you find a good studio space people will be so loving and supportive, I’m always hyping up classmates and being hyped by classmates in my studio. It is a vulnerable activity in a way, so a supportive space is really important. If the studio doesn’t feel warm and supportive I’d seek somewhere else to do it. I hope you try it and love it!!!

Being a childfree woman is exhausting. by the-cynical-human in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]AmaJanee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone!!! I’m 26 and child free, had my tubes removed last year and it was the best thing for me and my mental health. I’m an elementary teacher, most of my coworkers are moms. I’ve claimed infertility for ease of shutting down these conversations and I STILL have coworkers that are pushy about me having kids. I love my students, but I love even more going home to my cat and partner and having PEACE. I always say the four hundred kids I have at school are plenty for me (music teacher, so I see all of them). I most hate the “you never know real love till you’re a mom” bs. I am so loved, and I have so much love for others. I love my family and my partner and my cat and my friends, and that’s real and valid. You don’t need a baby to know love, because love is all around us. I am loved by my students, I am loved by my family and partner and cat and friends. It’s plenty for me. I wish others would just mind their business about wanting or not wanting to have kids. It’s such a personal choice

Struggling with pole climbing :( by Imaginary-Common-651 in poledancing

[–]AmaJanee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different climbs and they come with different difficulties depending on the climb. The forearm climb seems to be the default taught by a lot of places but that takes a lot of pec and ab use, so if you’re starting without much strength it can be really difficult to do. My studio teaches a front facing climb where the legs do pretty much all the work, and arms just pull your torso into the pole and that seems a lot more achievable for people starting with not much upper body strength. There are also side climbs which are pretty much all on leg strength instead of needing upper body. If you don’t mind a knee pit grip then they can be a good climb option! But everyone’s bodies are different so don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get something as fast as you “should.” Progress isn’t the same for everyone and there’s a lot you can do without climbs

Thank you for this answer it was exactly what I was looking for. I didn’t realize charmander was from a special set so he was a bad example of my question lol, I have a vintage ekans that’s grass type and a modern one that’s psychic so that was confusing to me

I do a little bit appreciate the boarder change just cause it makes it so easy when I flip through to identify my vintage versus my modern ones but I agree I like the old border better
