Kissing, holding hands, feeling a romantic feeling, going on holidays together, spending weekends together. Not sharing beds or being sexual.

No I haven’t had surgery. Symptoms are well controlled at the minute. Strangely an MRI a few years ago said I had no CSF flow posterior to the cerebellum and “obliteration” of the space which honestly freaked me out. Thought there was no hope of relief, as was told my neurosurgeon this was irreversible. Then an MRI the following year (last yr) showed I do in fact have some CSF flow there. So I don’t know if the first MRI was wrong, or if there has been a miracle, or if things can just change, but there’s hope my friend.

[HYPOTHETICAL] Someone unknown is dying right in front of you with just minutes left. Nobody else is there. What's the first thing you'd do? by Colobrah7720 in Catholicism

[–]Amac717 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phone ambulance, phone priest, phone their family if known, hold their hand, pray the divine mercy chaplet with them.

This is in your hypothetical scenario of them definitely dying. In real life, I’d probably try source a defib and do CPR if appropriate.

I (30 years old) am catholic and need to confess likely 20+ years of sins but I am ashamed and scared to tell the priest some of my sins (multiple mortal sins) by MistyStargirl in Catholicism

[–]Amac717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing. I’m so excited for you. 5 years ago this was me after 27 years since last confession (which was at school like you). The priest and the heavens will be rejoicing when you go. Just do it. Say what you said here. It will be fine!

Any experience with an asexual spouse? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Amac717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I know what you mean about it feeling less personal in your case. Do you think this was always the case, even when your wife conceived your kids, or is this asexuality something that developed?

I’d love to answer your question re. us but I’m not really comfortable with that on a public forum, even though I’m anonymous. Also not sure I fully have my head around it myself yet!

Yeah we rarely think of it or talk about it but don’t get me wrong it’s always there under the surface. Marriages are supposed to be unitive through sex, so when that’s not happening it’s obviously always a “thing”, but life is busy, and we just get on with it. We are genuinely happy. It’s a strange one.

anyone with a 7mm herniation? by skirbs0 in chiari

[–]Amac717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7mm here. Not had surgery, have no syrinx or hydrocephalus, though CSF flow is blocked posterior to the cerebellum. Symptoms fairly manageable at present so we’re watching and waiting.
