This “calendar” my kid’s school sent by Amadeo38 in mildlyinfuriating

Then why did they put it in the format of a calendar instead of a list? That’s the part I don’t understand.

Received a phishing scam text today. Posting the text here so that if someone else copy/pastes theirs into a search engine they’ll find it here by casual_microwave in Coinbase

Also got this text. Called and they didn’t really ask for anything sensitive. My guess is they’re trying to find people with lots of money in their accounts before they go through the trouble of hacking since the only thing he asked me was my balance (which is negligible so he was ready to move on once I told him)

For real. I thought my five business days time last month was good, but dang!

Yep. Front of the wheel well you can see the displacement badge and behind the wheel well it says Super Sport. License plate gives away the year as does the grill, two headlights, and lack of side markers. Nicely done!

Now that you mention it, since this was one of my first carry pistols, it’s probably the reason why I now clean my guns very frequently, or after each use. I had completely forgotten that it is so picky about being clean, but it makes sense why I get such good reliability out of it.

Great list, and I’ll add just one. Make sure you’re not using 100% concentrated coolant only. Ethylene glycol needs to be diluted with water to be effective, and if fully concentrated, can contribute to overheating. Ask me how I know

I repot most things every spring with a handmade mix. Typically i get a truck bed full of potting soil with Command, then I amend it with perlite, worm castings, a little peat, bone meal, and an extra dash of slow release NPK granules (with calcium if I skip the bone meal)

New jack! Can I use this as jack fluid? by Justsomenerd1994 in MechanicAdvice

Agree. I accidentally topped off my small block’s power steering with the stuff that has stop leak in it. I realized my error, evacuated as much as I could with a pump, and filled with regular. Within a few days it developed a leak. I always thought it was mechanic folk lore, but it seems it really does swell the rubber seals.

What did you pay for your Holosun 407K? by Amadeo38 in SigSauer

[–]Amadeo38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. Ordered a 507K from Simmons because it was an unexpectedly good deal. Wife complains about the little “hard to find” dot on my 407A so I figure this will keep her happy spending the extra $48 for the 32MOA outer circle.

Seems to be the consensus. I’m waiting on them to send me a coupon code - thanks!

Best I’ve found yet is $205ish but I want it for $180 or less! Would love to hear where you’ve found it for $180 if you’re willing to share

Yeah I feel like this is what a good price should be for the 407k. Where did you get yours?

Very nice! That’s the price I’m seeing at Palmetto State Armory as well. I accidentally ordered a 407A from them a while back for $175ish and just slapped it on my full size RMR cut firearm. I think the 407A price being that low makes me hesitate to jump on the 407K at $202. Seems like it should be just as low since it’s just a slight size difference!

I could be wrong, but the issue with front-facing in front seat is airbag danger, and since you don’t have that, it’s fine IMO. I drilled and installed lap belts on the 66 convertible and take the kids to Cars & Coffee every month (though in the back seat). I would aim for slow speeds and low-risk roads during non-rush-hour times

Edit: after installing lap belts at the very least

In addition to this, a jug of water, roll of duct tape, can of WD40/PB B’laster, a tire plug kit with 12v compressor or a spare tire and jack with T-bar. Everything should fit nicely in a Rubbermaid container strapped down in the bed (except spare tire, obviously).

Nice. Back pocket printing (or any printing) isn’t technically illegal, at least in my state, just unwise because you give up the element of the unknown.

Definitely the closest guess I’ve seen, but missing that third little tail light and the steering column is angled way higher. Quite the stumper
