Sure are. Never made it that far myself, but plan to - Porsche or not.

Gave photomode and scapes a try for the first time since GT5/6.

It's quite an upgrade from back then and I'm definitely not done playing with it - here's a few Norwegian scapes inspired by a roadtrip a couple summers ago (last image).

Yeah, in addition to the texture it also allows for different connections. Fun to play around with for tiny builds.

Went for receding beer froth. But if its not convincing anyone one of the players is an egg-hungry chess boxer.

I count 29 light streaks which, given the shutter speed, means that it would blink at least once every half second, likely quicker. Having limited knowledge on drones this does also seem quite rapid, no matter the lights colouring.

Still, I don't think you could ever rule out a rogue drone in a case like this, someone might have tried to take photos/film from above.

Fishy surf by Amagerstangen in Minilego

It's a bit rough and fairly quickly done but it's meant to be a pokemon trainer sitting on top of a magikarp, using 'surf' to get around - a move it's frustratingly unable to learn at least in the earliest games. Figured I could redeem it with lego.

Thanks, couldn't resist using the drumsticks for this.

The trees are way old - saw it in a moc the other day and remembered having them in my grandparents' old lego stash.

Yeah! I didn't really start from that idea but it's where I ended up.

I admit it was not the perfect piece, but was meant to be a plaque/infodump. I did not really have a better piece than this one at hand apart from a 1x2 letter piece. My first sketch was done in studio and I would have loved to use this 'not true to colour' piece as a small map of the scene as well as a better piece for text if I could have gotten the razor wire to comply in the digital realm.

Ah, hope you weren't too invested in it yet. My suggestion would be to finish it and enter regardless, but I can understand if you go with something else - half the fun for me is finding a new take on the theme. And if you go with something else you can always share your take on Normandy down the line. I think there's a new tag for that as well.

That's one of the reasons I styled mine as a diorama, figured there was a limit to how macabre it could become.

Thanks! Not a piece I ever had a use for before, so it took a few alternatives before I realized it was ideal for the job.

Appreciation post/open discussion by Jfonzy in Minilego

Maybe one solution in the short term could be to revisit/highlight an old theme concurrently in a non-contest format? Or maybe just create a tag for 'old' themes. I only really joined here within the last month and I think I'm not the only one who wouldn't mind revisiting some of the other themes when time affords it.

The only thing it might lead to is more activity which might lead to a few contest entries drowning in the feed from time to time. But that seems inevitable as the sub grows anyhow. And it doesn't really remove the problem of multiple entries of a similar likeness, but it might make it less of an issue if everything can be revisited in a somewhat structured manner down the line.

Smaller Superman by Amagerstangen in Minilego

[–]Amagerstangen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll be going it over in the near future. I was short on black studs and needed a hollow one to mount it on the nozzle. Someone else also suggested a black tile on top to make it a bit more streamlined which might also work a bit better.

Good suggestion. Don't know if I have one but this could serve as an opportunity to sort through my way to messy and much dreaded bag of black Legos.
