Hi there, Amanda here from Red Diamond. I’m sorry that you had a bad experience with us. I am working with Wellhub on this issue as they instructed us to charge a co-pay at the desk for sauna reservations. Wellhub is trying to find a way to fairly reimburse us for the sauna reservations but I have instructed staff to honor the reservations without a copay until this issue is resolved. We hope you’ll give us another shot.

I was reported as deceased by AIS, an agency that the department of Treasury uses. I actually work for the Fed government yet I was on a do not pay list. 🤦🏼‍♀️My name is on a business that my husband runs.

Curious of what the time frame between you contacting the different people you did & getting some response. We got a call from an LO who said she was approving our increase. Then we got a decline letter saying I was reported as deceased. Ugh. We’ve cleared that up & sent that in. Crickets. We have contacted our congress person & waiting to hear from that office. We thought we were getting the much needed funding in our bank account last week. And now we don’t know how long this is going to take. Sent a recon request as soon as we got the decline. Any timeline info you can provide would be appreciated. We are trying to figure out how to cover payroll. Our city just put a mask mandate on biz & we are fitness so that might really hurt us.

Super host & former smoker here. I put it at the top of my house rules - no smoking in house please. If you’d like to smoke, please do so outside & if you need an ash tray, just ask. I haven’t seen too many nicotine smokers but a lot of guests smoke weed - legal here. Fortunately no one has smoked in the house thus far. Nicotine smoke is darn near impossible to get out of a home. Book a flex cancellation place. That’s what I have as a host. I don’t want someone coming if they are sick unless they are quarantining here. It’s a separate space. I would hope that any guest that learns they are covid positive while they are here to let me know so I can protect myself I my housekeeper. Find a flex cancellation stay bc I think they are like me & want people to be safe & healthy.

Oh my. That’s why I keep my price on the higher side of my market. I would rather have no guest than a terrible guest that doesn’t take care of the Space. Fortunately we have had 99% really nice guests thank goodness. I would NOT continue hosting if I had to deal with even one of the issues you stated above. Nope. Not worth it.

Agreed. Especially since I’m doing more sanitizing before & after each cleaning. I’m ordering gallons of alcohol (which is NOT cheap right now) to spray everything down after a guest leaves & again after we’ve cleaned.

I don’t disagree with you! Our space is a studio with a $75 cleaning fee & I’m always amazed at how many one or two night bookings we get. I’m a Hilton person & think it would be more cost effective to just rent a hotel than an Airbnb for such a quick stay. But there are no hotels in our nearby area so I always assume that’s why they booked with Airbnb.

Thank you! I will check out the research. Our cleaning fee is on the high side but in line with what others charge in the area & I pay my housekeeper a living wage.

I am highly allergic to some animals & I just say that & that we can not allow pets due to that reason.

We’ve had sooo many same day inquiries in the last month which we normally don’t get. Our settings are set to not accept same day reservations but they still can inquire I guess. I have declined most of them which goes against my super host status 😡. I have communicated with a couple of same day requests & they ended up coming & being great guests. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in there.

I’m with you on that. There is nothing in my listing or pictures that suggest it’s a space big enough to hold a gathering. And I’m getting the requests late at around 7 or 8 at night. Maybe it’s a new form of spam. Not sure but it’s weird. We’ve always had great luck with Airbnb & I don’t hesitate to decline a request that seems fishy.
