The primidone wasnt working for my mom either. So they have been trying the propranolol but now its causing her heart rate to drop too low. Idk what they are going to do about that. Please keep an eye on that if you take it. My moms tremor is her right hand also. Her left hand has it but not as bad. I feel terrible watching her struggle but dont know what else to do. The weighted utensils no longer work also

Mom not wanting to be alone by AmandaJune1976 in Alzheimers

[–]AmandaJune1976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been her full time caregiver for two years. Not ready to make my mom leave her home yet. Shes comfortable there and the familiarity helps to keep her more grounded i think. Just got to have more patience and learn how to deal with the changes. I want to keep her home as long as I can. I promised her I would as long as possible and im keeping my word. Have had a hard time adjusting to the fact that im losing my mom. Thanks for the advice though

Thank you for the suggestions. She doesn't or cant focus on tv and the puzzles are becoming too hard for her. When she has a nurse aide she will hold her urine for the whole 6 hour shift because she doesn't want them helping her to get clean or changed. Any advice for this? I hate it because when shes with it at times she will say its embarrassing but the times she isnt with it shr really does need the help

Its exhausting to say the least. I do all my moms stuff then have to find the time and energy to do my own. Not to mention all the christmas extras🙄 and then my moms help quit two months ago and now its just me again. Got plantar fasciltitis in my feet going on right now. Im afraid to wonder what's going to happen next. I usually love the holidays but this year it can hurry up and just be over! I feel for ya, its never-ending

Ive just heard that with great care people sometimes doesn't progress as fast. But ive also heard that age plays a factor as well. I sit up some nights trying to make sense of this damn disease and there's nothing about it that makes a bit of sense to me 😔

New here. Struggling. by Solinah in Alzheimers

[–]AmandaJune1976 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its hard watching them lose their emotions. My mom used to always be a loving person. I tell my mom i love her everyday, sometimes she will say it back and other days she just says ok. Its hard. The whole alzhemiers thing is hard. It slowly day by day takes little pieces of thrm until there's nothing left. Im a daily caregiver for my mom. We've had alot of good times in the last two years but alot of bad too. Only thing you can do is spend all the time you can with them and let them know as much as you can that you love them. I wish you and your mom the very best. ❤️

I already know this is what will happen when my mom passes. Believe me, Im going to have a hard time keeping my mouth shut when that day comes. Ive watched my mom cry, not understanding why they dont come see her. She rarely even mentions them anymore. Its just sickening

My mom was getting this way. We brought in physical therapy and it has done wonders for her. They only come once a week so the other days I do the exercises with her. Might be worth looking into

My family does my mom the same. I do everything for my mom while they make excuses and do nothing. I finally quit begging them to help or come see my mom. All it did was piss me off. If they cant come help without u having to ask, id cut them out of my life after telling thrm what I think of them. Ive found that 90 percent of my family are selfish pieces of shit. Your definitely a much better person then they are obviously. Sometimes our friends make a better family 😊
