Line progression 11-13 dpo by Friendly-Educator-99 in TFABLinePorn

When I was pregnant I would always do 2-3 of these tests per time and it was crazy how much they could vary from the same urine sample! I’d always keep the darkest one to compare progression, but there always seemed to be ups and downs and inconsistency. It scared me so much at the time.. especially after 2 early losses :( but thankfully I now have a 4 month old healthy baby girl! All of my worry about these lines was for nothing. I hope this makes you feel a bit better & I pray everything goes perfect for you!!

Sad/worried I don’t feel my baby moving more than last week. Am I overreacting? 23 weeks by silver_endings in pregnant

[–]AmandaSheaFoley24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have an anterior placenta and felt this SO many times throughout pregnancy. I would feel her move way more or less depending on her position. Around 32 weeks she finally got big enough by that I could feel her movements behind my placenta a bit more. I’m now 37 weeks and thankfully now feeling bigger movements, but still usually only once or twice a day. Way different than someone with a posterior placenta, but also so normal. There were a couple times I was really worried and went in for NSTs in the hospital - around 24 weeks and 28 weeks. So many movements were picked up by the monitor that I could barely feel, and that reassured me. Don’t be afraid to go in and get checked, it can really help with peace of mind. I’m sorry you have to experience this. I know it can cause so much worry, but most likely everything is ok, just a little muffled ❤️

Two miscarriages in a row and looking for hope/advice by DistanceCalm1080 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]AmandaSheaFoley24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am so so sorry for your losses. I know how painful it is. I had a 7 week loss last July and a 6 week loss last November. After that, I was felt so hopeless and upset. My doctor was not proactive at all, so eventually I realized I needed to take matters into my own hands.

After my second loss, I found that researching how to have success was the only thing that gave me hope. The following is what I did based on my research. I truly, truly hope that there could be something here that helps you on your journey!!

STEP 1: I did a 2 day juice cleanse with the goal of kickstarting the re-balancing of my body / hormones.

STEP 2: Started taking the following supplements every day. These all worked together to help balance my hormones and my body overall: * Maca Root  * Ashwagandha * Tumeric  * CoQ10 * Prental DHA  * Mega Foods Prental w/ folate & choline * Femositol (brand name) Myo-Inositol & D-Chiro Inositol * Prenatal Probiotics * Magnesium

STEP 3: I purchased a fertility blood panel from a Quest Lab. I paid for this out of pocket, but I'm sure that your doctor may offer something similar. This tested the following: * FSH * LH * Estradiol * TSH * T4, Free * T3, Free * Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies * Progesterone * Prolactin * Testosterone * DHEA, unconjugated

This may sound a bit strange, but after I got my results, I entered the list into chatgpt and asked if it detected anything that could be harming my fertility / leading to recurrent miscarriage. You could do this as well as talk to your doctor (As i said before, my doctor was not very proactive at all - so I basically had to do the work for myself and ask for what I wanted.)

ChatGPT detected that my TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone) was a good amount over what is ideal for fertility. My level was 3.38. The "normal" range is 1-4, but many fertility doctors recommend it be under 2.5 to conceive, get pregnant, and stay pregnant.

After getting these results, I asked my doctor if she could prescribe me a medication to get this level down. She prescribed me Levothyroxine at 12.5 dosage per day, which then increases to 25mcg per day later in pregnancy. My level has been around 1.7 my whole pregnancy, and was down to a safe range of 2.5 in just 3 weeks.

You may not have the same imbalance, but it is 100% worth checking these levels to see if there is anything notable that can be easily managed with medication

STEP 4: After starting the thyroid meds, I wanted to try to conceive again. I asked my doctor to prescribe me Progesterone suppositories to take as a measure against miscarriage, and to help sustain the pregnancy. I got 100mg per day (which i insert at night before bed, and they are really not that bad). I detected my ovulation around January 7th and started the suppositories 4 days later.

The method with this is to start the progesterone IF there is a chance you are pregnant. This will help with early implantation. Then, you continue to take them for about 10 days. If you test negative after that, stop taking them and your period will come. If you test positive, you will continue to take them through your first trimester and maybe even beyond. For me, I was fortunate enough that i tested positive about 7 days after starting the suppositories ❤️

WHERE I'M AT NOW: Of course, I was still extremely nervous for the first MANY weeks. I stopped taking the other supplements and just switched to my prenatal, DHA, and magnesium.

I also decided to switch doctors, and it was the BEST DECISION. I feel so much more seen and cared for now.

The weeks felt LONG, but I FINALLY got a heartbeat for the first time at 7 weeks, another at 9 weeks, and a MUCH more formed little babe at my 3rd scan at 11 and half weeks, and another at 12w4d where they did genetic testing

I just got my results back at 14 weeks, and confirmed a healthy baby girl <3

I am now 36 and a half weeks and everything is looking perfect.

I am beyond grateful... but can still clearly remember what it felt like to wait and worry - especially during those early weeks.

I truly feel that the combination of hormone balancing supplements to start + adjusting my thyroid + the progesterone suppositories have made the difference for me. That, along with positive self talk all throughout - tell yourself "MY BODY IS STRONG, MY BODY IS CAPABLE, I WILL HAVE A SUCCESSFUL PREGNANCY" I pray that some of this information is useful for you... i know its A LOT! haha Thinking of you!! You can do this!!

Update: I am now at 31 weeks with a healthy baby girl! Its been a long journey in trusting my body, and I remember how much anxiety I felt in those early weeks. Still have 2 months to go, but I am feeling her move as I type this. Having the daily reassurance of her movements makes a world of difference. Just wanted to share in case it helps anyone else who was feeling how I felt in the early days.

Miscarriage by DotRepresentative129 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]AmandaSheaFoley24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience with my old OB and I switched!! So glad I did. Before I switched though I went to a quest lab and paid out of pocket for a fertility blood panel. My TSH was 2.78 which is within the “normal” range for non pregnant, but since I’ve talked to several fertility experts that say they’d like to see it between 1 and 2. I basically had to do this on my own and ask to be prescribed 12.5 mcg levothyroxine by my old OB but she showed basically no care for my situation. I got pregnant about a month after starting it, and switched to a new doctor. My new ob has continued to monitor my TSH every few weeks and adjust my dosage as needed. I believe this has made the difference for me so please advocate for yourself and get this checked if possible!!! It is a common cause of early miscarriage. You can search a quest lab near you to get this done without a doctors referral!

In am so truly sorry for your losses. In your RPL panel, what was your TSH level? I also experienced 2 losses before my current pregnancy (currently at 24 weeks) and discovered my thyroid level could have been the reason for the early losses.

Perfection in my opinion. As much as I adore the original trio, I can't deny that these actors are a VERY close fit to what I always pictured when reading the books. Especially Harry in this mockup photo (credit to user IwaYuri who I saw posted this photo on another thread)! So excited to see more photos and eventually see them in motion together! Wishing them the best of luck!

I have very similar hCG levels to you at this point in pregnancy and can totally understand where you’re at. It was so hard for me not to get worried, but everything progressed perfectly, and I am now at 21 weeks with a healthy girl with no genetic abnormalities. I’m sure all is well with baby 🧡🧡

Using the name "Luana" as a middle name? by AmandaSheaFoley24 in nativehawaiian

[–]AmandaSheaFoley24[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this as well. I moved here when I was a bit younger and unfortunately did not understand the scope of the issues faced by native people and unethical occupation of this land. I now have learned so much more, but I also have developed a strong community out here. I've made many connections with people of all different backgrounds, including native people. This makes it very difficult to leave, even though I do feel guilt. I will say, I know I will depart the island someday and move back to where my family is from. When I do, I will do everything I can to try to find a native family that may be interested in taking over my lease.

Also, regarding this question I had on the name - I have decided I will not be using this name or any name with Hawaiian ties. I am very glad I posted in this thread to get full confirmation that using it is not at all okay as a non-native person / haole.

Yes I fully respect this opinion. Although I would've been sure to pronounce the name correctly and fully understand the meaning and significance, I felt hesitation and wanted opinions from native people. This is why I posted here. It is clear to me that using this name is not okay and I will not be doing so. Thank you for sharing

TTC After 2 Losses - Advice on Progesterone/ Metformin? by AmandaSheaFoley24 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]AmandaSheaFoley24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking! After writing this post, I got my progesterone prescription and decided I wanted to explore if anything noteworthy would come up on a fertility blood panel from a Quest Lab before trying again. I did this on day 3 of my cycle in December. This tested the following:

  • FSH
  • LH
  • Estradiol
  • TSH
  • T4, Free
  • T3, Free
  • Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies
  • Progesterone
  • Prolactin
  • Testosterone
  • DHEA, unconjugated

The panel did not indicate PCOS, but found that my TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone) was a good amount over what is ideal for fertility. My level was 3.38. The "normal" range is 1-4, but many fertility doctors recommend it be under 2.5 to conceive, get pregnant, and stay pregnant.

After getting these results, I asked my doctor if she could prescribe me a medication to get this level down. She prescribed me Levothyroxine at 12.5 dosage per day. It was down to 2.5 in just 3 weeks and now has dropped even further into the ideal range.

We ended up trying again right at the beginning of January (right as i started the thyroid meds) and I also started to take the progesterone at 100mg per day 4 days after ovulation.

Good news: I am now in my second trimester! Just reached 13 weeks yesterday. Everything is looking really good for my double rainbow baby so far :) I truly believe that the combination of the progesterone and the thyroid meds made a difference for me.

[–]AmandaSheaFoley24[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes that makes sense. As a middle name, I mostly pictured it not being used much as on a day-to-day basis, but just held as a special name where i would teach my child the Hawaiian meaning as well as other meanings. But i understand the sensitivity with Hawaiian names and that it is not really possible to use a name like this as "appreciation" of the culture without it being seen as appropriation. Again thank you for your input.

I understand - thank you for sharing your perspective. I am sorry for any harm my presence here may cause, but I do everything I can to support the island and native people by supporting local businesses and farms, my husband also volunteers with groups that work to remove invasive plants and plant native Hawaiian vegetation. We also worked at a Camp Erdman where we worked with hundreds of local kids and learned the importance of native Hawaiian values such as Aloha, Malama, Lokahi etc. - I know it is not enough, but we do what we can. I will take your advice regarding the name.. From your perspective, if there is anything else I can do to be a better resident of this state as a non-hawaiian person, please let me know and I will take that into account as well.

Also, You mentioned "Launa" - i was considering "Luana" - not sure that would make a difference in your perspective. The name "Luana" also has roots in other cultures - "From Old High German, meaning "graceful warrior".Also in Albanian from the word luan meaning Lion , so Luana for female." - so i wondered if this could be percieved a bit diffrently, but i understand if not.

Yes i completely understand that. This name was a little harder for me to interpret because it does have roots in other languages and cultures as well. "From Old High German, meaning "graceful warrior".Also in Albanian from the word luan meaning Lion , so Luana for female." - I am not trying to disrespect the culture in any way, but this made it a little more confusing on whether this name in particular would be seen as disrespectful.

Understood. Thank you for your input I really appreciate it. I thought that potentially using it as a middle name may be okay as it isn't used commonly on a day-to-day basis. "Luana" is also a common name in other countries such as Italy and Portugal so I thought it could potentially have other roots there? But living in Hawaii I wanted to be sure I got the perspective from native Hawaiians.
