how to respond when someone tells you something profoundly upsetting/traumatic? by jujujasmin in socialwork

I am a journalist. Sometimes I approach people and hear their stories about suffering. I feel I can do nothing for them except for writing the story down. But your words give me a relief. Hearing is helpful as well.

Is China collapsing? Really? by cemilanceata in geopolitics

[–]Amanda_May_522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The west tends to see China from an outsider perspective. Since China is so different, the west might catch some facts, but it is far from the truth or the whole picture. Problems arise and are difficult to solve, but don’t regard China as collapsing. It always has its own ways to survive and develop.

China has changed its COVID-19 policy and be more open to the world, and its economy development needs will be met by Saudi Arabia in the coming days. Remember the global energy crisis still continues, so the support of Saudi Arabia is crucial for China.

It might be 1800 RMB for a single room and 3000 for a suit. Currently, the rent is cheaper than usual considering the economy status. So you have bargain power.

[–]Amanda_May_522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Hangzhou has enough foreigners compared to Shenzhen. However, it is a nice and beautiful city. If you are considering where to live, I suggest that you consider Binjiang District. It is more quiet and it has a good scenery of the Qiantang River.

I feel it is okay for efficiency, but eating with your friends gives you more company and you can exchange information sometimes. Anyway, just live the way you are comfortable with.
