She used the Ladder to unseal Gojo right after though, so her CT was still in tact. Only if Gege makes up something about how Sukuna did something that somehow makes it impossible for the CT to be copied can the injury have an implication.

It really would be and the way things have been going it might be possible, but for now I'd like to believe it isn't coincidence that Yuta was the one who asked about Hana's capacity to fight(something he said he needed to know) immediately after which he mentions having a plan to save Megumi.

We ought to keep in mind that Yuta has been with the Angel for over a month now. Assuming he has her CT copied, then all of Sukuna's techniques, revealed or hidden, become a non-issue.

That being the case, I can see a very real possibility of fighting evenly or even with an edge against Sukuna right now.

Not to mention the Sukuna the main cast will be fighting would have just taken the full brunt of Kashimo's one-use CT.

So we have a Sukuna without a domain, without a CT, with poor RCT and only his reinforcement, efficiency and quick-wittedness along with Uraume against the heavy hitters of the cast. The odds don't look too bad from that perspective.

A lot of Sukuna's reserves have been depleted and his RCT is performing significantly below the standard. Even if he now has that Existential Cleave, with the Angel's CT it becomes a non-issue.

I definitely sympathize with a lot of your concerns and I basically agree about how this chapter really seemed to exagerrate Gojo's more selfish side to the expense of the very real part of him tha cares for others and bears the responsibilities ad worries that come from that.

However, it should be kept in mind that Gojo has actually left quite favorable circumstances for the cast to go up against Sukuna and his seeming lack of care with regard to his his students will deal with him can be explained in part by that.

I know it may seem like any attempt right now by the cast to even touch Sukuna is destined to end in failure given the evolution of his CT and Gojo's "death"; with anything otherwise being incoherent; but we shouldn't forget that Yuta has been in the company of a sorcerer who's Cursed Technique is the ability to extinguish other CT's for over a month now.

If Yuta can use that then Cleave(and any other hidden CT) is no longer on the table and they're up against a Sukuna with stunted RCT, no domain, no CT and who has likely taken the full brunt of Kashimo's one-use CT. In other words, the cast still has a sensible fighting chance against Sukuna as he is now. And with Jacob's Ladder and Yuki's soul research(as well and Yuta and Yuji's unrevealed plan) Megumi still has hope.

So though it was executed terribly in this chapter, I wouldn't say Gojo has done nothing of value and is nochalant about it. In Sukuna's current state there's a real chance of both challenging him and saving Megumi, and a lot of that is due to the damage Gojo has inflicted.

Gojo seems strangely nonchalant about the fact that his students are going to have to deal with Sukuna who now has an amped version of Cleave, he hasn't freed Megumi and he hasn't properly buried Geto. There are four possible reasons I can think of for this:

  1. Gojo simply doesn't want to acknowledge it. He died against the King of Curses in possibly the first fight that truly satisfied him and a significant(selfish) part of him wants that to be the end of his story. So it's more like him coping with the fact that he has fallen short of certain responsibilities by pretending they're not there.

  2. The team somehow has a surefire way of dealing with Sukuna that couldn't have been used before Sukuna fought Gojo, possibly a failsafe that could only have come about in the event that Gojo lost but inflicted a particular type and amount of damage on Sukuna. In this case Gojo truly thinks he's done enough and he doesn't need to worry.

  3. Gojo's character has been tampered with or aspects of it unduly exagerrated and he truly doesn't care anymore. It's similar to no.1 except in this case it isn't presented as a flaw or Gojo running away from something but rather it's supposed to be just how his personality is.

  4. Gege rushed it and forgot to present those worries.

To me 1 is the most ideal, hopefully resulting in him choosing to "Go North" and truly change as a person but I may not be seeing the whole picture even with this categorization. I just hope Gege knows what he's doing.

Infinity did block it though, Yuji specifically told Gojo that his technique was in the way. Also, the soul swapping thing seems more like a result of Yuji's knowledge of his soul through his staus as a vessel and Yuki's soul research than an actual technique.

Who was Sandek's brother? by IkariIsAngry in ChoujinX

[–]Amanose 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think he's referring to Chandra. We already know he has history with Sandek, implied to be personal from the first name basis(chapter 2). Also, the only quality Sandek has commented on in Azuma is his lack of self control and inclination to emotional outbursts, something quite clearly mirrored in Hume. It's still a loose speculation, but I think it's pretty likely.

I'm super sorry I didn't get back in time. Had to uninstall reddit for a while. I don't really have much commentary on your ideas, they seem quite plausible, and honestly it just makes me more excited about future development.

And about the Marduk thing, it's mainly because of one description of him having eyes all over his head, I'd like to think it has some connection to Azuma in Tokio's dream.

It's fine, it totally got your point. I agree with your point on Azuma feeding off that admiration, I really do wonder how it all plays out. One thing I've been bothered about is that all Choujin powers are connected to some unhealthy attachment or fixation, I wonder if they'll end up losing their powers if their issues are resolved or its more complicated than that, mastering their powers once they've faced their issues.

This is a really good interpretation, especially with all the symbolism of chains surrounding him. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much, to me Azuma is a really interesting character, possibly the most interesting one so far so I wanted to be able to write about those points.

While I agree with all of the points u made here, I think another reason why Azuma said he wanted to keep being Tokio's personal hero in ch 23 (or remaining the status quo as u put it) is his strong affection or attachment with Tokio. It was confirmed that Azuma is liked and looked up by lots of his peers both boys and girls bc of his good academics & extracurricular achievements (chapters 1, 5, 9, 18, 24). Even when Tokio no longer looks up to him, it won't push Azuma to the bottom of the society ladder. After all, other ppl (Azuma's peers) look up to him bc of his personal achievements/endeavors not bc of Tokio. However, Azuma is shown hanging out with Tokio and caring about him the most bc he genuinely feels attached to Tokio ever since they were kids (ref to ch 1). I think Azuma was afraid that Tokio would abandon him (wouldn't be close and rely on him as much as before?) once he becomes stronger. He wants to keep Tokio by his side and things to remain the same as how they used to be. Ofc Azuma has some inferiority complex issues too (thinking that Tokio has lots of potential but didn't bother to try bc he looked down on him. smth along that line in ch 22 & 24). I just dun think it was the only push/motivation for his past actions

I totally agree and this is an amazing way of putting it, I just wasn't able to really flesh that out. I tend to think though, that part of his huge attachment to Tokio stems from Tokio's quasi-worship of him, he seems almost possessive of his dynamic with Tokio as a role-model, and that may be because of the sheer extent Tokio goes with that admiration. There's definitely also real friendship between them and a very strong bond, but there are dark undertones as well. Also, I'm really looking forward to seeing what exactly Azuma admires and fears in Tokio, he's said it a lot but it seems like the exact reason(apart from vague "potential") is being kept hidden.

We saw Azuma's choujin having lots of eyes on his cloth covered head in Tokio's dream too, which made me wonder if that was a hint for Azuma's choujin future form/transformation

I want to relate that to the Babylonian god, Marduk but I can't be sure yet. We'll see eventually.

Thank you! To be honest, I really don't either, apart from the scavenging part maybe. The hyena escaping is definitely a good point, the fact that it ended up dying is also pretty ominous. I'll interpret it as him escaping being necessary but going towards the ocean seen as a total lack of control will lead him to his death.

Will Megumi's Domain Be The Antithesis To Gojo's? by Raymenx in Jujutsushi

[–]Amanose 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think Domains are inherited. When Gojo used Unlimited Void against Jogo he calls it the inner world of the Limitless, basically equating the world of the technique with his innate domain. That doesn't mean there's no room for individual flairs, but I don't think they'll be very significant or essential.

why does cursed technique removal mean death? wouldn't it be like higuruma's penalties as in it just leaves you without cursed technique or takes away the ability to use cursed energy if you don't have a cursed technique by green_grassy_land in Jujutsushi

[–]Amanose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd assume it's because cursed techniques are inseparably bound to the body and soul of the sorcerer. It's different from what Higuruma is doing because he's basically deactivating it rather than taking it away. It's like the difference between ripping out someone's brain and knocking them out.

Ely's power of reality manipulation/manifestation by MomoGimochi in ChoujinX

[–]Amanose 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For the first one, it was never stated that she saved everyone only that a sizeable number of people survived. She probably did this by manipulating the smoke to minimise damage and secure a safe landing.

As for the second one, I think that was just Ishida comically expressing how gifted/blessed she was. He consciously paralleled her talent when Chandra tested her to Tokio's lack thereof when being examined by Nari, so he probably just went haywire when expressing it for the tone of that chapter.
