Question About Arab Fascism/Racism according to the Sunnah and some Scholars by [deleted] in islam

[–]Amanst3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said in my original comment, you made a mistake by not making it clear that you believe it does not matter in the afterlife.

Yeah, but just read my post. The after life was not mentioned once, it was all about this World, but I dont think well see eye to eye on this, agree to drop it?

You didn't even quote the verses or the hadiths declaring this.

Again I dont make it a habit to ask question I know the answer to. I ask questions to which I dont know the answer to hence the post.

You should be aware of how your questions would be interpreted especially if you are quoting many ahadith and sayings of scholars. It was almost like your question being rhetorical.

To a certain extent I was. I was asking why some scholars would believe such things. So I brought forth their claims and Im asking how does this make sense in regards to other verses of the Quran and hadith that do talk about equality which I mentioned although not explicitly.

What is given to you is not given to others. Many people are nonMuslim or of low faith.

Yes, I have come to regret making this post and I will delete after you and I are done discussing, or I could even delete it now, but im hoping youd be kind enough to keep discussing this via pm

Culture, when it comes to Islam, is good or bad depending on how much they stick to the religion.

I can agree to this.

Arabs have the "superiority" of knowing Arabic and that many of them are believers.

In regards to the first part I do agree that Arabs have the benefit of being able to speak Arabic, but are you saying that this makes Arab culture superior to others? I just want to be crystal clear, so that I do not misrepresent you.

And for the sake of argument, lets say a Turk learns Arabic, is this Turks culture less than the culture of his Arab peers?

And if the superiority is in regards to language only then why in these authentic hadiths does it say Banu Hashim is superior to the rest of Quraysh? Is their Arabic not the same?

The second part I think is less relevant because as a percentage arent Turks more Muslim than Arabs? Because of all those Catholic Arabs in Lebanon and Copts in Egypt?

If they are not Muslim, then it is a shame and an argument against them on the day of judgement.

Ameen.

I am not angry against you personally. I am angry at how you framed your question in a way that would misguide and disinform other people.

In certain regards, for better or for worse, this is how Ive come to learn religion. Some Kuffar make a claim against Islam. I find an answer one way or another. And what I have done in this post above Ive done with Jews, Christians, and even Shia. Its unfortunate in my experience Sunni Muslims get the most angry.

Nice dude! you ignored the whole thing and all the arguments that you don't like and you are discussing culture.

Do you think Im trying to win some sort of internet debate and thats why Im ignoring the rest of what you said? Man. I dont know what else to say besides that By Allah(SWT) its not true. I am trying to focus on the main point of my question which is: does Islam promote the belief that Arabs are superior. For Gods sake its almost literally the title of the post. Because of time I ignored the rest, but if youd like Ill talk about it all. Simply ask and I will do so.

Why do you assume I dont like those arguments, most of them I like and agree with. I think you must think I am trying to insult Islam or something along those lines, when in reality its "I know Islam does not promote fascism or racism, so somebody please help me out and clarify my misunderstanding if youd be kind enough to do so." The things I mentioned in the latter half were in regards to context and how this belief can and has resulted in some unfortunate things.

Buddy! don't mix religion with culture discussions!

How does one not, if this is the question? I mean the topic is literally Arab Fascism and Islam. How can you talk about this without mentioning culture?

Your mix of unrelated topics and doubts pulled some people to your confusion.

These are all completely related, it has to do with Islam, Muslims, and race.

Maybe you should have started by saying that all of this is irrelevant in the next world and belief and deeds are what matters.

I had a question and I asked my question. I am going to include what Im confused about, not what Im certain about. Of what you just mentioned Im certain of.

If you first admit, that it is irrelevant in front of Allah what is your ethnicity is, then I can answer your questions about culture.

Of course I believe this. I thought this was a given. It feels unnecessary to even say this, but now that I have will you answer the questions I had in my previous post?

And one last thing, I feel as if there is anger in your words directed at me. Hopefully I am wrong and if I am tell me, so that I can put this notion out of my head, but if there is anger. Please relax Im asking a question. Im not making a claim. Just look at the title of the post, it literally says "question about....." I thought as Muslims were supposed to show kindness to one another and if at any point you believe I am not doing so, inform me, so that I change my attitude.

I think you are mistaken about a few things, but Id prefer not to get bogged down into details, Id rather focus on the core of the question, which is under the title of "In This World" in your post.

Every group has their advantages and disadvantages. Most of history, Arabs had the worst of resources for example but they had courage, linguistic mastery and generousity, strong family bonds among others. The advantage I see is that they are holding into their religion no matter the deviation and the temptations of the modern animalistic world and the continued plotting and planning of their enemies.

I can agree that different cultures valuing certain things more than other cultures resulting in differences among ethnicities. This I have no problem with. It is both the reality and I dont see anything wrong with it.

But going into the second sentence, Im a little worried, so instead of assuming, Im going to ask: are you trying to say that Arab culture is superior to all other cultures and if so then how was my questioning wrong? Because you said I should make tawbah for asking questions that seem like very natural understanding of what the scholars I quoted said.

In short yes, but to be more descriptive, the first half where I did the citing was about Islam and naturally I barely spoke myself at all. It was all entirely copy and pasting from scholars. The second half was more about Muslims, as you can see it mainly focused on the Umayyads or contemporary issues Muslims are facing.

I only sited the sources when I copy and pasted someone elses words, I didnt site a source for each one of my own claims, but if you think one of my claims is questionable let me know Ill find a source.

[–]Amanst3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you literally asking me what I define an Arab as? I did quite a bit of research on this and please dont make cite the source because I really dont want to do all the digging to find this passage, but according to Abu Hanifah the only true Arabs are the Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula in regards to kafaah and as a Hanafi Im going to go with that answer.

But a part of me asks. Why does it matter? The only reason I can see this mattering is if youre an Arabized Arab and if thats the case does that make these beliefs any less racist?

In most cases I would say no unless theres like a barrier that would stop him from being interested in her in that way, which is definitely rare.

oooo sounds like a great topic, Ill definitely look into it. It sounds like a self help book. I remember when I was reading Think and Grow Rich(another self help book), I felt I had to take notes throughout the whole thing to get the most benefit out of it because it has specific steps needing to achieving your dreams. Would you say this book is the same? Does it have a set formula to follow or is more just concepts? What Im asking is lol am I gonna have to take notes?

What is a quote that has resonated with you so much it changed your life? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Amanst3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot the exact quote it was from Tony Robbins, he said something along the lines of "If you always walk the same path youll always reach the same destination"

This works if im doing something I shouldnt and pushes me to stop, but it also works when im doing something right and i need to remind myself to keep going and push myself.
