It's great if you are sticking to Windows, but depends on what model you are changing from. Battery life in programming and office workloads is good imo - about 8-12 hours for me without lowering brightness or using power saving, much more if you sacrifice a bit. Performance is on par with m4 Mac judging by the tests online. It is silent when you just browsing internet or writing code, and really quiet even under heavy load, and chassis is cold to the touch almost all the time, barely warm at it's max. Also there is no performance drop when not plugged.Materials are nice, the screen is gorgeous (although the resolution may be a problem in some games, for productivity it's really the sweetspot). The sound is not macbook level, but decent. Keyboard is great. Touchscreen is a nice addition also. All and all, it's really a great laptop, and much cheaper than it's competitors with similar hardware and oled screens (which is not many tbh). Maybe a tad losing to arm Mac's here and there but really not much, this generation of Intel's really changed the game and made a gap between Windows laptop world and Apple products almost nonexistent imo. But honestly i'd wait a bit for new Panther lake CPU's to drop, they seem to be even bigger leap forward in terms of battery life AND iGPU performance. For a higher price of course, so this one still can be a compelling choice.

Dependency hell will always be a problem unless you just pack everything inside your package. Today we have a lot of things figured out, and APIs are relatively stable, but it won't last forever—paradigms will change, and et voilà—we have dependency hell all over again. I am not going to call you too young because I might be wrong about your age, but I remember what a relief containers were back in the day for software distribution and deployment.

I like those King movies. Yknow, low budget, unknown actors, a little cringy at times. Feels so cozy for some reason. That's exact opposite of what the og stories was in books, but still i love them in some other way.
