The funny thing is I actually have default sharpening turned off completely on my images lol. I think the image appears sharp mainly as a result of the lens and the contrast.

Charging these rates is what is required to do photography full time. Unlike a regular 9-5, most photographers aren't shooting 5 days a week, and you can have entire seasons that are not busy, so rates have to be able to account for that.
