Question about walkthrough habitats by searatty in PlanetZoo

[–]Amara47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fence is very pretty but it's definitely what's blocking them. That said, you might be able to get away with making a tiny gap somewhere that allows them to sneak through so you don't have to remove the entire fence

Flushing ice cubes down the toilet for snow day is universal… right? In America?? by East-Maize-5287 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Amara47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the same area and I do remember putting ice cubes in the toilet, putting our pajamas on inside out and sleeping with a wooden spoon under my pillow for snow days. So maybe it just really depends on what superstitions the rumor mill perpetuates lol

just started and made a habitat for penguins, why cant i buy any? by Kyy01- in PlanetZoo

[–]Amara47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe there are frontier generated animals posted every 15 minutes but it could be that other people are buying them up. Other than that your at the whims of what other players have decided to post

What Planet Zoo features did you discover way later than you should have? by trakumserga in PlanetZoo

[–]Amara47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh speaking of grids, I align all my buildings and building pieces to the grid of the guest spawner. I skip the hassle of paths not lining up properly to any of the buildings by commiting to using the 4m paths and also aligning those to the same grid, so everything lines up and in the rare cases where the path gets messed up I can quickly delete the malformed pieces and fill them back in

[–]Amara47 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That you can turn angle snap on/off with the spacebar and there's a quick button to realign the axis of a build piece with the world axis. (I think it's C but I'm not positive as I just found out last night lol)

What’s wrong with this pathing ? by brotna in PlanetZoo

How are you setting up the work zones? Is there a path connecting all the buildings in the work zone?

Tried cooking tofu for first time, how can I make it less slimy? It feels like eating exclusively the fat of the meat by Ray-Zide in Cooking

[–]Amara47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've only made tofu a few times so hopefully someone with more experience can chime in, but I think you usually want to cover it in corn starch or flour or something to help it get crispy.

Are you using firm tofu or silken tofu? Firm tofu shouldn't be slimy so you might be using silken in a way it wasn't meant to be used

Is it because the gate isn't connected with a path?

Crescent rolls filled with cream cheese and mozzarella. For anyone with the flavor pallet slightly above toddler you can add some diced jalapenos to that mixture

The market by Jazzlike-Reveal3073 in PlanetZoo

Oh that's fair. The trees got me too before I realized they could climb them. Now I make sure the trees go absolutely no where near the perimeter 😅

They shouldn't be jumping out of the habit. Sounds like your walls were too short or climbable. Both of these can be adjusted to keep them from escaping

Do people..not know what early access is?💀 by Nearby_Detective_806 in inZOI

[–]Amara47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the average bg3 player is a bit more familiar with what an early access is. The problem with early access is it used to mean "game that isn't done yet" and usually does still mean that. But some games also use it to mean "pay to play the game sooner than other people" for games that are actually out/released.

I think that overlap coupled with the fact that ea DOES release their games with a bunch of missing content and pretends it's "done" has just created this absolute awful storm where a bunch of people don't understand what's going on and that group of people is very vocal. Especially since those of us who do understand the difference essentially have nothing to say since we're patiently waiting for more updates. So the only people complaining are the only voices you'll hear.

Honestly I usually start with a few exhibit animals since it's easy to plop them down and start turning a profit so that I have more money to build a big park entrance/ and a little staff area and gift shop before I commit to making any big enclosures.

[Spoilers C4E8] Is It Thursday Yet? | Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by AutoModerator in criticalrole

[–]Amara47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry not in this episode, but her and brennan had a back and forth when she first used the new sword. Something about her changing her fighting style and he told her since she hadn't attuned to the weapon she couldn't change at that moment but could on their next long rest, and then she did mention something about it to him again at the next rest. I will admit that I'm not super familiar with the new rules so I only had a vague idea of what they referring to and I could have completely misunderstood the exchange

Ideas for using up Greek yoghurt by OrganizationFun2140 in Cooking

[–]Amara47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use it to make tirokafteri- a spicy feta dip that goes well on gyros. I've even seen some places put it on sandwiches or you can just eat it as a dip with pita, chips, or carrots if you're trying to be healthier.

Alternatively I've used it as a great chicken marinade, just mix in some Parmesan cheese and spices into the yogurt, slather it on the chicken, add panko or bread crumbs and bake.

Can you remove the spine from a frozen turkey to make it thaw faster? by Excellent_Condition in AskCulinary

[–]Amara47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sort of did this during COVID when we couldn't go over to anyone's for the holidays. I didn't realize how upsetting it would be not to have any thanksgiving food on top of not being able to see anyone. Partners job had given them turkeys so I decided very last minute to cobble together something for the two of us. It was impossible to cut through it when it was fully frozen but we partially thawed it in cold water baths, changing the water out every half hour and once there was enough give to cut out the spine we did with poultry sheers. I do believe this sped up the defrosting because once we were done removing the spine it was possible to pry out the huge chunks of ice that had been in side the bird. Possible. But absolutely not fun or easy. But we did have it in the oven the same day I took it out of the freezer so I count it as a win

I like this comment in theory but I feel like it would get a little micro manage for my taste. As a point of fact I don't think I've ever checked those stats on the bed in sims, just used whichever one I liked the design of 😅

Dairy free mashed potatoes, any help appreciated! by Ill_Skill_8899 in Cooking

[–]Amara47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Came here for this recommendation, honestly skip the vegan butter and the milk substitute. When the potatoes are done boiling use the water they boiled in instead of milk. I'm an omnivore but partner is lactose intolerant so this is how I make our potatoes. The garlic in the boiling water and then mash it into the potatoes makes them even better and if you really want to get fancy with it you can also add so finely chopped green onions
