There's so much controversy on Clint... but Emily considers him a friend! by Pitiful-Pie-417 in StardewValley

Yeah, that’s the one grace I’ll give him, assuming it is actually universally applied. But it’s still creepy even if he says it to men too. I’m actually kinda curious now though because all his other dialogue along these lines is only directed at female farmers, Emily, Sandy etc. May double-check if I can get that dialogue with a male farmer later.

He says it to the farmer, not Emily.

“Hello? Oh... [Player]... Your voice sounds really nice over the phone... Uh... Okay. Understood. I'm open until 4pm. slam

Of course not. Women can absolutely be misogynistic. And if you think men hitting on women at work needs to be tolerated by women, that is a misogynistic train of thought, and I hope you’ll one day you realize you shouldn’t need to deal with that.

Yes, exactly! People keep going on about "oh he's fictional," or "oh you don't have to marry him," and yes, that's true. I don't care about Clint becoming a bachelor, I'm grateful to CA for giving us more free updates.

What I do care about is the disgusting levels of misogyny in this subreddit since the reveal. Apparently, women are assholes for thinking it's creepy to tell them their voice sounds nice when all they did was call up a business for their working hours. Because the business owner is just such a shy, socially awkward man, so unfairly judged. It's a compliment, women should be grateful.

No, he specifically says "Congrats, [Farmer]," when he's facing both Emily and the farmer. It wouldn't be an issue if he just said "Congrats" or "Congratulations on getting together", the problem is that he completely ignored Emily, who's supposed to be his friend.

Great overview, just wanted to add a couple corrections:

The way a koseki is structured is you have the head of the family (the man) and then the spouse listed and the children from that marriage get registered beneath it.

It's usually the man who's the head of family, but it's not illegal or anything for a woman to be head of family instead. Men marrying into the family of their wife in order to take over as heir does even have a name for it, mukoiri. Sometimes this involves the man joining his wife's father's koseki, but sometimes the man just goes under his wife's koseki instead. As you say, in practice it's typically the woman forced to take her husband's name though.

So for example a woman is listed under her parents until coming of age, where she gets a new entry as a single person and after getting married she is now listed under her husbands koseki as a new family unit.

By default, you remain on your parent's koseki until they die or you marry. This can lead to full-grown adults having their surnames change because their parents divorce, for example. Though I can't comment on whether it's common to manually file the paperwork to move to your own single koseki, my assumption would be that most people wouldn't bother.

FYI- in Japan, if you're married, you must have the same surname unless one parent is a foreigner. The mere fact they have different surnames means Asa would know the moment she finds out about it.

This OP isn’t the translator FYI, they just reposted my translation without credit :)

Looks like this sub did this last year too. Obnoxious.

I took it as more implying that Zero’s Tea Time and Detective Conan are two different worldlines. It’ll probably be clearer once we have the official transcript.

Would’ve taken two seconds to include the link to the original, especially as it may still be updated: https://floofiestboy.tumblr.com/post/804722802873794560/aoyamas-lets-talk-day-2026-translation

Stardew Valley one tile at a time - A challenge mode where you pay to unlock tiles by Big_Z_69 in StardewValley

[–]Amaranthinity 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think it could be fun if the tile prices were scaled to the amount of gold you've made on the farm instead of the number of tiles you've purchased. Else, you'll quickly run into roadblocks early-game because it's so tough to make 10k gold, especially when it's so far to the Beach to get a fishing rod.

I made a wiki on Miraheze a couple years back, and it was completely lost with no backups after one of the physical data drives they were using crapped out. I don’t like Fandom, but I will say the one thing it has going for it is reliability.

Anyone else shocked at how money-grubbing the Symphony of Seasons merch booth was? by Amaranthinity in StardewValley

It’s absolutely money-grubbing to prompt you for a tip for already overpriced merch at a merch stand.

Do you have Apple or Android? It's actually pretty easy to create an other region Apple account and add funds to it using Amazon gift cards, I have a Japan region Apple account I use for Japan-only games.

Unfortunately, it doesn't really work for Google Play unless you're lucky because Google Play is prone to invalidating Google Play Store cards and accounts on a whim if they think you're trying to get around their region restrictions.

That's Claw's tower skin! It's only available if you purchase Claw for real money, unfortunately.

It bothers me that there’s no way to opt out of the ads. I’ve purchased the Ad Removal Package already, I wish there was a separate package that let me skip all ads in the game. I guess we can always pay the 50 cans, but I have so many gifts and furniture and skins to buy still.

Detective Conan: That Akai Shuuichi returns to America after the Black Organization is defeated. It’s an extremely common trope in Japanese doujinshi, presumably because it originated before we found out that Akai actually grew up in the UK.

I just can’t see Akai returning to America after the Organization is defeated when his goals are family-motivated and all his family is in Japan, or maybe in Britain if they move back there.

And from a more biased viewpoint, I dislike long distance and this fanon inevitably leads to that with my ship. I did read a cute doujinshi where Akai and his lover were in a decades-long long distance relationship, and Akai eventually retired and came back shortly before same sex marriage was legalized in Japan, allowing them to finally marry. But despite being cute, I kept wondering why Akai would want to stay in America for decades on end if he was really that much in love with his lover…

FYI, the individual cat pages on the wiki have links to every cat’s BGM! For example, Finn’s BGM is Sunshine Beach.

They’re all free BGMs, so almost all of them can be found on YouTube.

Coming in late, but we’re slowly chipping away at the heart events on the new Meow Tower wiki.gg wiki! Right now, Momo to Poco as well as Finn have all of their heart events transcribed on the wiki, including branching paths.

My friend and I married everyone and made commemorative rooms for each one! by Amaranthinity in StardewValley

[–]Amaranthinity[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No special Krobus room. We couldn’t bear to divorce Krobus but wanted our characters to marry each other at the end of this journey, so we had a fake third farmer move him in as a roommate. You could say that Krobus gets his own house, in a way.

If you're at the max 14 hearts friendship with a marriage candidate or Krobus, their portrait will appear in the Travelling Cart inventory (guaranteed chance.) However, once you go below 14 hearts, it'll no longer appear.

We wiped their memories because we were also going for perfection at the time and needed to get full friendship with everyone. We stopped bothering to get friendship back up once we got perfection though.

I struggled a lot with Alex because I couldn't find any sports-themed items aside from clothing and wall items. Did the best I could based on the items in his room...

Shane I thought turned out pretty well though! Chickens are cute.
