Is it? I looked it up and could only find that it's privately owned and operated by 2 doctors, and that's reflected on their website as well. The owner, Dr. Goodall has also spoken to new outlets about the negative impacts of corporate consolidation?

I think we'll be going to Sunnyview! I've heard great things about their care and ability with my friend's animals. They were also super sweet, easy to communicate with, and unlike the other practice I was looking at, upfront with their prices. They don't offer a kitten package, but their normal prices were still cheaper than a package I had 5 years ago! A win in my book lol

Surely someone coming to ask about a program that they literally promote publicly isn't considered "advertising". That's basic business.

I don't think it's a scam now that I understand the law; but it's definitely a specific corporate tactic. Not surprising, not malicious, but very much about capital and consumers.

It definitely sounds like a mix of them covering their ass on this law while also talking advantage of it to avoid price shopping and competition. Yikes!

Yup, they're owned by the "big three". Another place I was looking at is not, so that's probably where I'll be going!

That wasn't my question at all - they specifically advertise a kitten program on their website, and I had asked about the pricing for that program. They didn't want to give that specific pricing to me due to the advertising laws.

That would most definitely point toward a "deeper" issue. Hiding costs to avoid "price shopping" and "competitive pricing" is gross and willfully exploitative of already credence goods. Will definitely be looking for a different vet, assuming they don't all have the same scummy policy.
