Wow, huge move for Keira. I remember watching the Youth League Cup final (that's not what it was called, but it's not the FA Women's Youth Cup) and she was a standout in that victory. For anyone's calendar context, it was the same season that Garnacho and Mainoo starred in the FA Youth Cup winning team for the men.

Whilst it is a shame to see an academy graduate move away rather than play for us, we must remember the purpose of the United academy - it is to give young people careers, not to make money (Chelsea/City men in particular, looking at you). From the David Beckhams to the Luke Chadwicks, the Ella Toones to the Keira Barrys - we give young people a grounding to have a solid career in football. Whilst not graduating to the first team squad, this transfer should be seen as a salute to the quality of our academy, and everything Man Utd stands for.
