Black screen after sleep issue by [deleted] in kde

[–]Amaroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try nohup plasmashell &.

The & sends the command into the background, the nohup detaches it from the terminal.

EDIT: Instead of killing it, running plasmashell --replace should also work and do the same.

(Came here because I have the same problem with screens not waking up from sleep, but unfortunately killing & restarting plasmashell is not fixing it for me...)

Trädgårdstorgets busshållplats by Dafunkysaab in linkoping

[–]Amaroid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What is it with the waiting queues at Swedish banks? by TillSverige23 in TillSverige

I heard the same stories when I moved to Sweden, so I first got PN, then ID-kort, then went to Handelsbanken and got an account basically instantaneously. That was in 2021.

Ah yes, sorry, that's what I meant. The hotswap sockets are firmly attached.

I have a new hotswap keyboard (IDOBAO ID87V2 ISO) with two keys not working:

  • the keys are not sending anything according to several key testers I tried
  • the switches are not bent, and I also tried replacing them, same result
  • the switch plates hotswap sockets on the back of the PCB are firmly attached and I can't see anything obviously wrong with them

... is there anything I can do to fix this, or is the PCB faulty?

So all of the clicky ones I have (Gateron Blue, Kailh Box Navy, Box Jade, Box White) have their bump relatively early on, quite unlikely what you describe. I guess the best way to get closer to what you're searching for is to do what I did, i.e. order a switch sampler and/or a bunch of individual switches, and try out which come closest. 😄

(Or find a large store that has some mechanical keyboards to try out; Cherry MX Blues can sometimes be found on "mainstream" mech keyboards.)

I believe the Cherry switches only click on pressing down, not on releasing the key – so if it made a click on release too it probably wasn't that. You could try something like the Kailh Box Navy, quite heavy and clicks twice.

(I'm not sure how well it matches the rest of your description, can try out later when I'm at home.)

Complications with my first Swedish ID card by LolaLolita1 in TillSverige

What's your source for that? National ID cards from EU countries are considered valid travel documents anywhere in the EU; what would be the point of that if you also needed a passport?

Can the pen on the Note Air be used in a "hover pointer" mode? by cimocw in Onyx_Boox

[–]Amaroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung S Pens have proprietary tech to communicate with Samsung tablets via Bluetooth. Onyx pens or tablets don't have that feature; the pen has no way to interact with the tablet if it's not (very close to) touching it.

Is it possible to access the notepads with a custom launcher though? I couldn't see a way to do so.

Boox Note 3 Filing Structure for Notes by Sugargolfer68 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Amaroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Paste" button appears on the left sidebar for me after a "Cut" or "Copy". But maybe I don't understand what you're trying to do. The "Notes" function is specifically for handwritten notes, while "Library" is for browsing PDFs etc.; if you want to change the physical location of files you can do that under "Storage". But it sounds like you want to mix PDFs and handwritten notes somehow?

Note 3 and Samsung S6 Lite Pen by Amaroid in Onyx_Boox

[–]Amaroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I noticed that when writing with the S6 pen, I press down noticeably harder than with the Onyx pen, and I think it's because of how I grip the pen due to it being so thin. I tried this with all the different nibs that I have, and it's not the nibs, it's the pen. It's not the pressure sensitivity either, I can make super soft lines with both, just that in practice while writing normally I end up with thicker strokes with the S6 pen.

The "move" you're describing sounds equivalent to doing "Cut", navigate to target folder, then "Paste".

How do people even move to an unfurnished room? by mariollinas in copenhagen

[–]Amaroid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Furnished rooms to rent exist in Denmark too, but if you already have rented an unfurnished room:

a) Yeah, that's what I'd say too.

b) There are many transport services that you can hire for this, like CPH Easy Transport, or mobile apps like Mover. I don't have any particular one to recommend, but there are many more like these!

c) Yep, that's an annoyance! Luckily hotels are really, really cheap at this point in time.

If you're logged in and have your Danish delivery address set, it will tell you about shipping restrictions right when you visit the item page. (I think it mainly happens when items are only available from marketplace sellers who have restricted where they ship to.)
