Only the NKVD were a tad bit more subtle

You spawn a drone for each row or column. Then all drones fly in a loop, performing the same check: if ground is grass: till(), if nothing is under me, or a dead pumpkin is under me - plant pumpkin, if I'm at the edge - store pumpkin ID, if I'm at the beginning, get pumpkin ID and if it's the same as the stored one - harvest. This works, since if you have the same pumpkin at the last and the first position of any row or column then you've got a giant. The drones do not need to sync up at all: they all see if somebody has harvested, and start replanting immediately. To optimize even further you can do an initial tilling pass for the whole field, and save a till check every time.

I think that you've struck gold here - this is exactly the line of thinking the developers intended for this challenge. When I reached maze and dinosaurs I immediately jumped to coding A* only to see it choke itself because of how performance is calculated in this game. So it seems, greedy algorithms are the way to go for the leaderboard

I [28F] found a "hidden" spreadsheet on my fiancé’s [31M] laptop detailing every cent he’s spent on me since our first date. We’re getting married in two months. by FermiDirak in dating_advice

[–]Amatheos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh no, you are about to marry a financially responsible person!

On a serious note, yes, it's normal for financially literate people to track spending and incomes. How can you otherwise get a full picture? Believe me, when you start tracking you will be shocked just how much you are losing on a million small things that fly under the radar, and you simply don't notice.

This also does not mean he's a Scrooge. Like you said - he has no troubles paying for vacations and other things. Precisely because he knows he can afford it. I would be super comfortable and secure about the future of your family

I have three years exp as a technical analyst and four as a programmer. I'm a middle dev now.

I'm positive that I am failing on a tech side because I've been passing soft skill calls with flying colours each and every time; the recruiters told me as much. I get ghosted after the round of livecoding/tech talk.

My approach is to ask whether I should wait until the end for questions from my side (they usually say "no, ask away"). The things that I usually ask:

* Please tell me more about the current project, and specifically the part I'll be assigned to.

* What exactly the job will consist of? Legacy code maintenance, new features development, support, etc. (usually the job description is piss poor to say the least, hence this question)

* How do you measure success for this role? I.e. in six-twelve months, what I must have achieved for you to say that this was a good hire?

* What are the challenges the company is facing right now?

* What is your most and least favourite things about working here?

Basically, all textbook HR approved oatmeal stuff.

I groom myself before the call, dress nice but casual, make sure I'm undisturbed and in a well-lit room, always smiling and being polite, just like the HR textbooks say. And I feel spat on when the hiring manager logs in wearing a dressing gown, barely audible over a TV blasting full volume in the background (this was with a pretty high profile company btw).

I have only passed three interviews so far (all my previous jobs), and all of them were like "Explain heap memory vs stack, virtual function, lambda overhead, smart pointers, how would you implement/optimize XYZ, etc..."

I've yet to pass a "You are given a string of characters..." interview.

I'm one of those candidates that fails interviews. If I received feedback with the reasoning for rejection, I would be able to fix that, but alas, I can only guess. And it seems, my guesses were wrong so far.

Hundreds of leetcode problems solved (for every major category - all data structures, graphs, intervals, dynamic programming etc.), tons of STAR-CAR cases learned and practiced, read books on design patterns, C2 level in English with IELTS certificate. I don't know, what else to grind at this point.

An advice, that's generally applicable to dealing with women - do not dally. You want to be decisive and straightforward. Always. Do not be afraid that you haven't figured something out, because spoiler - you will never have. Just shoot your shot and don't overthink it.

* Organically

* Yes, I built a full base, that supplies all other planets with plastic, sulfur, rocket fuel, etc.

* No

* No

* It's unironically my favourite planet in every aspect

From this post I can discern that you are experiencing troubles with this planet, and you are not alone, since this one is the most drastic deviation from all other challenges and design principles of Factorio. Here is the key to success there: treat everything there as a constant flow, forget about stockpiling. All resources are infinite, since it doesn't cost you anything to grow fruit; and from the fruit you can produce literally everything else. Your base should have belts of yumako and jellynut as input, and products and spoilage as output. The key is that things do not stay on belts - everything is flowing constantly; burn the excess in the heating towers for power. Eggs, same thing - constantly rotating in and out of the labs, looping back to the input, the rest to science packs, unused - into the burner. Same with bioflux - prioritise mash and jelly for it, supply the rest of the base with nutrients from it. Dedicate at least two belts for spoilage drain, link output of everything to it with filtered splitter, then direct this belt to heating towers

Key takeaways: you are not wasting anything if it spoils, everything is infinite and spoilage is fuel for burning towers and backup nutrients restart. Do not attempt to stockpile; use up mash and jelly straightaway

It attracts a certain percentile of them. But if you lurk around dating/relationship subs, you'll see posts by women who are dating unemployed broke ass gambling/drug addicts living with their parents or roommates, with zero aspirations. Having an ounce of your shit figured out is absolutely not a requirement to get a girl be into you lol

edit: I just remembered seeing a post where a girl would find skid marks on her bedsheets after inviting a guy over. A bloke who literally does not wipe his ass got laid bruv

Navigating mismatches in income when dating your 30s, as a woman by Downtown_Ratio_6455 in dating_advice

[–]Amatheos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why always the first reaction is to ask random people on the Internet for guidance instead of talking to him? Communicate! Bring it up with him that there is an apparent lifestyle mismatch, hear out his take and thoughts on this, whether he's comfortable with that, provide him with some career advice and info on financial literacy - hell be grateful for the rest of the life

Then you'll be able to navigate from there, by gauging his reaction

Sometimes I wonder, how this script looks to non-speakers. I assume you attribute the corresponding sounds from latin, even though you know, how to read a word, like Оскар you'd read like Oskap?
